  1. Will ring first thing monday. It is very stressful i must admit. We knew she was poorly but there was always hope that she would get through the chemo but she had a very hard fight and she put up a battle that an army would be proud of. I will keep you posted on what is happening. Thanks again.
  2. Thanks Dpick will try to put an appeal in and will also contact my local welfare rights office as gizmo111 has suggested. It is a hard time anyway without having to fight the system for money which should have been paid straight away. Thanks for your advice.
  3. Hi can anyone advise me? I put in a cliam to upgrade my mothers DLA after her illness progressed rapidly dating from 5th april 07. She was confined to bed as she could not walk or even toilet herself leading to me also packing in work. I rang the DLA to see how the claim was getting on and was informed it had been reffered to my local office. Someone came out to visit me and mum several weeks later as i was to be her appointee. I heard nothing and upon ringing was told it was still not decided. On the 9th aug 07 my mum quickly died whilst i was on holiday. my dad was caring for her that week. She was told there was nothing else they could do for her, her Leukemia had turned that aggressive and was attacking her whole skeleton. When i sent the death cert off to the DLA i wrote a letter asking them to please sort out the claim as it was too painfull to keep dealing with. This week i recieved a letter stating that she was entitled to HIGHER rate DLA from 4/8/07 and as she died on the 9/8/07 there was no outstanding monies to be paid. When i rang them they said there is a 3 month waiting time before an award will start to be paid. No where on the forms have i read this nor have i been told it either. I wanted to claim carers as i packed in work and this decision will stop me from doing that aswell. Can anyone please help? Sorry it is so long winded and i hope it makes sense as it has my head battered.
  4. Not as yet but i still have a week left as per the contract but i will def do that. no worries. I was so mad i just left the shop unsure of what to do next tilly.
  5. Unfortunatly not. I am moving to a much lesser house which is basic and less room as due to the iva i can not up my mortgage any ( which isnt a bad thing really) but i have no savings to pay for solicitors and estate agents fees so this is comming from the equity also. What is left is a few grand but not enought to end my IVA due to been a very impatient and demanding and also stupid person. Also they are not sure about what moving to a house which is worth less will effect my IVA as they expect you to remortgage up to the max after the 5 year to pay the short fall. I ask questions but get no answers apart from it is a YES to move but if i do not know the rest of the dirt what the hell am i supposed to do?
  6. no it is probably me my head is all over the place i may not have stated it was 20% of the purchase price, i did not know that till tonight tilly it is just my luck though.
  7. Hi tilly they want 20% of the order price! but they will cancel the insurance. That is at their discretion. I may choose a reselection of goods at the same or higher value subject to this 20% admin charge and redelivery costs been met by myself. I told them that they pushed goods onto me that i havnt actually seen as thay had none on the show room and she kept repeating " its not my fault", it is company policy". Mentioned that most decent companies offer a 7 day cooling off period but she just kept replying it is 20% to cancel and that it is for online purchases only a 7 day cooling of period is offered. Looks like im £90 out of pocket!
  8. Yes have been in for two month now and want to sell my home to be closer to my dad as my mum died 3 weeks ago. I was moving to be closer to her as i was caring for her full time. It has my head battered as to what they want from me and especially when they want 50% of the equity.
  9. I paid £100 deposit and have today been in the shop and explained but they want a 20% cancelltion fee which will work out at £90! Ouch
  10. Hi, after burying my head in the sand and much embarassment i went to Debt Free Direct, whom to be fair didnt seem to be doing very well with my situation so i decided to ring the cccs! They told me that they would probably referr me the DFD so to hang on in there. How this works i am unsure but i am now with DFD and they own my life and the money i earn. if you can sort it out yourself then please do as i am stuck now and wil be paying them for something for if i had know more about myself would have took control. Good Luck to you
  11. Hi, i am new to this forum or any forum to be honest. Can not believe there is such a wide range of problems in this site WOW. I have on the 25th Aug put a deposit on a 6 seater table and chairs from Harveys atfer much pressure sales, only 2 weeks after my mum died, now i am thinking a bit clearer and not actually seeing the complete set i stated ( as they had none in stock) i have changed my mind as feel PUSHED into it. What i really want to know is what are my cancellation rights under sales of goods legislation? on the pointless insurance thay sell you this says 14 days but no number of days are stated on the the other agreement
