  1. Hi, This is my first time on anything like this so bear with me if I'm not into the jargon & stuff...We have several questions - can you help. Hubby has a closed(Sept 2005) account with the Halifax, over the last 6 years has incurred alot of charges but he has not kept any statements, but we do know the account number etc. So we have written to them asking for statements with a £10 cheque, we heard nothing but they cashed the cheque...so we rang them on the 40th day they denied having recieved the letter, when we mentioned the cashed cheque they suddenly found the letter, they wrote saying the statements would come seperatley but as of yet, nothing. (that was two weeks ago) We have reported it to the commissoner and recieved an acknowledgment from him. Obviously we have no proof or figures without the statements.....What do we do now? How do we go about issuing court proceedings? Is that the way to go? We feel abit swamped by it all really. We guesstimate that he's paid over £3k in charges. Thanks in antcipation for reading this. Jan
