  1. FYI - Jacobs' head office will be closing for Christmas 2009 from 12 noon on Wednesday 23rd December until 9am on Monday 4th January 2010. No Local Taxation Bailiff or Debt Recovery visits will take place during this period. Payments can, however, be made via this website.
  2. No it's not law but I am unaware of any bailiff companiers or local authorities that have not agreed to be bound by it
  3. If they levied on the car you should have been provided with a copy of the levy. If you do not have this ask them to produce a copy - if they can't its invalid by default.
  4. I agree with crockie - this needs to be 'highlighted' forcefully to the council ASAPso that they can recall it from the bailiffs. I would also recommend getting your MP involved ASAP to help your fight.
  5. As B&S have been admitted to your home and gained a WP if you fail to maintain the agreed repayment plan they can technically return and force entry to your home to remove the goods listed on the WP. You cannot prevent them returning as they have gained peaceful entry. Have you tried renegotiating the repayment plan with them?
  6. 1. Yes 2. Yes 3. £42.50 in total 4. No, pay them online or through an automated payment line stating which year it is for or they will apply it to the current year and record the payment reference Don't know about the police one - it is the court who certificated him that you should be complaining to but you need to make a formal complaint in writing to the council and bailiff company first before doing this - ensure it is titled FORMAL COMPLAINT
  7. they will charge you for paying by card over the phone! by either credit or debit card - do you have internet banking? get their bank details and transfer direct so you are not charged
  8. I would just pay the penalty and forget it - you would be wasting your time and money pursuing (just my opinion)
  9. look on Marston Group's website and get it transferred up to high court (will cost you £50 - it's payable to HMCS not Marston) County Court bailiffs are notoriously useless
  10. the council's very often let companies such as Capita (Liberata, Vertex etc) appoint the bailiffs so the contract is with them and not the council. Naturally Capita will always appoint Equita
  11. If i was a JBW client i would not want someone with a convivtion for embezzling client funds working for my contracted bailiff company
  12. debt collection is entirely different to debt purchasing if they are simply collecting on behalf of debt purchasers that is OK but not if they are purchasing themselves - that's a whole different part of your application which they will not have had to complete as bailiff/hceo's
  13. Sounds like they are not dealing direct with the client rather client appointed solicitors who should have sent you a letter before action - have you rcieved anything from solicitors? The solicitors would have passed this to Marston's not the Uni directly.
  14. I'd guess it's the principle now as so long has passed, it seems the photo's were never even sent to the printers so in effect they do not exist so are out of the equation
  15. their contract with HMCS allows for payment plans over a few months - remind them of this and try and set up a repayment
