  1. More developments today, had to stifle a giggle! Got home from the school run to find a message on he answering machine from the local councillor who deals with Lincoln City Council, I think he name was Bushell, not sure, he was following up my email on the whotocall.com website (my new friendly website) and how he would like me to contact him as he had been in touch with the council. Opened my laptop to go onto this site and found an email from LCC Council tax dept, asking me to call them as they had tried to get in touch with me. Called the council straight away as the hold the ultimate desicion on this. Noce lady, seemed a bit nervous to have had the councillor ring her up regarding this case and how he forwarded my email to her that I had sent him. She told me that there was no need for me to contat the councillor as she had spoken to me (I don't think I'll be listening her her on that one) and that as the account is on hold until the 15 May, I should call her the previous week to see if a desicion had been reached on a repayment better suited to my financial situation, and that should a bailiff turn up before that date to call her directly straight away. Jesus, why couldnt they had done it for me when I rang last week, did it need CAG, CAB, councillors to get to the same position I was asking for last week as I hid behind the blinds, cacking it when the door was knocked on! I'm still going to give the councillor a call, as I think they have failed miserably at not helping resolve the situation and that anyone else is as terrified as I have been the last week. I still need to provide proof of my paltry income and outs, but have printed off a budget sheet from the national debtline, filled it in and am waiting for the child benefit/CTC to send a letter showing my entitlement, then off it goes to both the council (be rude not to as I have her email address) and R's. So, still in the "on hold for 14 days" situation but feeling alot more positive that before x
  2. I've printed off a budget sheet from the national debtline that calculates it all for you, and it gives me a monthly payment available to R's of 14.30, alot different to their £20 per week, and they were surprised it was defaulted on many times! I will send that off with all the proofs they have asked for (when I get them back from CAB, who still haven't got back in touch) As my mother would say with good news "Oooo get you!", get me indeed!! but not without the help from you all Thanks so much
  3. I have had a brilliant turn around today, and am very thankfull to this site and the wonderful people who are on here to help. My account has been put on hold for a review between R's and the council. I need to provide full incomings and outs with proof of benefits. The relief is immense. I have had the blinds drawn today and cacked it each time a knock came to the door, to find it was people wanting me to vote for them in the local elections..oh the irony! So, two weeks to get all the bits together they want, I will certainly be able to do that, thank you thank you for all your help, I will update soon x
  4. Am I able to email back with the below statement, as I now have a clamp in my possession to use! Any cars or vans parked on my property during any such visit are there fully at the owners risk of being blocked in and clamped for being on private property without authorisation from myself, the householder
  5. This arrived today into my inbox from R's, totally heartless, but that is what I have come to expect from them Thank you for your email. I have noted your accounts with the contents of your email. We are a bailiff company acting on behalf of LincolnCity Council to collect monies owing to them. We do not have to offer or acceptinstalments. We set an arrangement up with you and you failed to maintain theagreement. Your cases are over 2 years old and ourclient required payment in full over 12 weeks of us receiving the accounts. We have advised that we require payment infull by return today. This will prevent any bailiff action. We will not returnthe cases back to the council and we will pursue with recovery action unlessadvised otherwise. Yours Sincerely Well I will sleep soundly tonight...not! Guess its time to move the car. Just one question, if the little man/woman should call and I have to leave the house to collect the children from school, can he/she force thier way past me? Thanks
  6. Well, all letters have gone off to the Councillors, mep's and county councillor, thank goodness for copy and paste, bless you to whoever told me about that site! it is spot on
  7. I agree, I see no reason why this cannot be fought with the same fight I had against cancer, I beat that so I certainly wont allow this to get the better of me. My fear is that the horrible bailiff will scare the children. Given that I had the letter last week, when should he be scraping his knuckes towards my door, should I start hiding my car as of tomorrow?
  8. Thank you, I got in contact via the writetome site and sent one off, a bit of editing but it got everything across to them. I have emailed the district councillors, now to do the county councillor and the mem of parliament!
  9. Not yet, I have their details from the writetothem website but putting together a letter that makes sense is proving difficult. I will babble on but I need one that will be concise, to the point, is there a template for complaining about this osrt of situation?
  10. Thank you, for me to do anything useful at the moment is a good thing, churning it over is doing no good at all. Is there a template available for making a formal complaint to R's that I could cc to all the appropriate people, I can then print it off and send it to them as a recorded hard copy, so they know I know they have received it!
  11. I have an update, although I am nowhere closer to it being resolved. I emailed R's detailing everything, from my illness, financial ins and outs, I also copied the Council in on and then followed up the email with a call to the Council. They told me that it had been handed to R's and they were dealing with it, I mentioned the Vulnerable status thing and was totally fobbed off. I received an email today back from R's to say that they will not be sending the account back to the council and that full payment is still required. My return email to them was to ask how if I am unable to pay the agreement can I afford to pay over £500 and that if the bailiff should call I will not converse or let him in and that the visit will be recorded on audio and video. I also mentioned that as the visit is to a sick single parented family with two children under the age of 10 this goes against the national standards of vulnerable people that they as a company are supposed to adhere to andthat I would use the maximum force allowed by the law to protect myself and the children should I have a visit ( now that ive said that what is the maximum I can do?!) I did go to see the CAB today and they have arranged an appointment with a debt advisor who has written authority from me to act on my behalf, so for the moment I am constantly watching the door, wondering when I should start hiding my car and when I should get the bucket of cold water ready to chuck out of my first floor window! Given that they had ignored the Nations Standards thingy, who should I go to next? Would I be allowed to block the bailiff in with help from friends cars seeing how he will be on my property? I would love to have the nerve to clamp him on my property! Any further advice on where to go next would be great x
  12. Hello I was diagnosed in Dec 2011 with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and have had two courses of radiotherapy in the last two months consisting of 20 sessions per course. Following my last scan I am now in remission with another scan due in two months. I am still very lethargic and extremely tired, but with the seperation happening only 6 weeks ago, I am working very hard at finding a job in my old career of a legal secretary to get myself and the children out of this financial black hole we are in as we have had no monetary support from Mr but most sadly no visits with the children
