This also works out of hours, if you tell the advisor you have a heart condition (i.e. Angina) and high blood pressure they prioritise your call! What ever the time of day! Why be fobbed off when you pay for the service?

I'll make a bold suggestion, join a union, a lot of unions are there to make sure that management do there job correctly and will not challenge "protocol" I joined a union called "Solidarity", a lot of it's reps are from the National Liberal Party, however, they did a great job at representing me. Indeed if it was not for them I would have been sacked!

The address is correct, be interesting to see if they comply, they have made the collections and accounts department redundant to move the work to Abbey. -
Global Debt Management Services Limited
djh1697 replied to PriorityOne's topic in Alliance & Leicester
Global is a name that A&L use when the write off loans, they generally sit in the same offfices as A&L loans collections. Instead of selling bad loans to a 3rd party they keep them inhouse and call themselves Global -
£590 received - without signing anything! So my claim is still open.

I think you will find 6 years in the statutary limit on data retention.

Do we get to see scans of the letters with your name/address/account numbers removed? Do you have investments with them? -
The default notice is merely a way that A&L make extra cash on late payments. They make a charge of £25 for a late payment, there will probably be a late payment shown on your credit file too. Speak to the arrears department, bring your account up to date and ask to have the £25 refunded. Maybe someone could take them to court to get charges refunded. ****ed off ex-employee!

I can't answer your question, only to say that it is the policy of the Labour governement that is the problem, and people will still vote for them, they dont represent the working class and they dont represent me! -

Inform the data protection registrar too! -
I was talking to an A&L employee today, she works in the department that deals with these requests. They employee 20 people to deal with these overdraft queries! I wonder how much that costs them?

My account was force closed by First Direct in 2004, so the charges I am claiming for are quite old. I received a letter from First Direct offering my £455 in full and final settlement, that is what I asked for, the interest was just a bonus that I was trying to claim! This has made my day! I shall be returning the letter by return of post! Many thanks to the forum for the advice given.

Added all the numbers together £455, if i add 8% interest it comes to £611.16. All good fun, now to produce my next letter from the template.

Got my statements, there is something called "Charge recall s/o-d/d" which looks like a charge made for a DD that was paid. I assume I can claim this back ?
-
I sent off a postal order for £10 to fd along with a DSAR, as per the instructions on this website. They have return my postal order (no use to me now?) along with a letter stating they will send the statement/manual intervention letters free of charge!

PJ, They reviewing your banking facilities ? threatening to close your account ? I wonder if there is any legal arguements here, since all bank have to offer bank accounts to people, even though it is only a Basic Bank Account. -
If they are agoing to call you to discuss the matter further, you could ask them to remove your shaddow overdraft limit, no doubt this could be the reason you incurred charges in the first place. Mr Pym, A&L's managing director claims that it is a benefit to customers, in that it avoids embaressment! I think the only customers that benefit from that are the ones that are A&L shareholders. http://business.guardian.co.uk/story/0,,1493514,00.html

I met Miss Monaghan a couple of years ago at an A&L training course. She is a lovely liverpool lady

In Argos advised you to use a booster, it would be incorrect advice! The correct way to improve a picture on freeview is to use a decent aerial. There used to be a phrase with computer programmers "GIGO" - Garbage In Garbage Out - same applies to aerial amplifiers

If a UTI is diagnosed at a STD clinic is a hospital you would be given treatment there free of charge.

I just wonder how much it costs the bank to defend these claims? Solicitors dont come cheap! The company has to pay one, although it probably has a team, but there is the time preparing such a claim. This could prove interesting! -
A&L have what they call a shadow overdraft limit. Indeed one of the papers got hold of this. I have reason to believe that all banks have this. It allows you to go over your limit so they can make revenue from you. Interesting that when you use your debit card, most retailers get an automatic authorisation. It should decline it! The banks reasoning behind this? It is a customer benefit, prevents embarrasment in shops! Interesting how it doesnt stop anger at punitive charges!!!
