  1. I had an account with Shopacheck which, according to the CRA`s is settled. Today i got a letter from Lowells looking for payment. I wont be paying them a penny but other than ignoring, what should I do

  3. Is it normal for DCAs to increase their activity at this time of year. I seem to be having them all come out of the woodwork over the lastfew days

  5. for my own reasons, i signed up tp BE2 dating website for a short trial period costing £5 for a month. If I didnt cancel my membership would automatically renew for 3 months at a cost of £149. It was due to renew on 26/08 ( a Sunday) and on the 18th I tried to cancel online. This proved to be impossible as when I eventually found the correct section of the site I discovered the site required me to print off the cancellation form, sign it and fax it at least 7 days before renewal date. I had no access to a printer or fax at the weekend so on Monday 20th I tried again. No access to these sites at work!!!!. Eventually that day I managed to fax my cancellation. I also phoned my bank to ensure that this payment would not be taken. On the 4th September, Be2 took full payment. I immediately called my bank and after a lenghthy period it was refunded on 3rd October. Today I got an email fromBe2 threatening me with dca to collect the sum they say i am contracted to pay and with legal action if necesary. Any guidance regarding this would be most appreciated. I know that dca have no powers but i just want to put this experience behind me
  6. I really hope that a visit is attempted. I have 2 big dogs who dont really appreciate visitors.

  9. I have received your email , I am at a loss in what to say, you borrowed funds above and paid nothing back. I have attached a letter we have sent to you today , I presume the client we represent want the matter heard at court due to your continued default, it’s also been with a previous debt collection agency who you were supposedly meant to make agreement/s to pay back the funds. We have called you once at work but we certainly will not be calling again if you feel harassed. I WOULD ALSO ASK YOU AT THIS POINT TO MAKE ANY COMPLAINT WITH OUR GOVERNING BODYS , I DONT THINK 1 PHONE CALL AND 3 LETTER SENT TO YOU WOULD STAND AS HARRASMENT IN ANY COURT. My clients feel you have clearly took the funds without any intent to give back, we will be supplying the courts with the agreement you took and the statement of your account. Think you would be best to get some form or representation for the hearing,. Let us get the matter to your small claims court.   11. had another voicemail from these people. very similar to the last one and they seem to make it sound like life or death
  12. it was a voicemail from a glasgow number but giving a 0844 number to reply to. and hr sounded very official
  13. just had a "very urgent" message from the opos office (sounded like the Home Office at first) urging me to call back URGENTLY. Could this be regarding an old Minicredit loan which I recently disputed on Noddle. Have I unwittingly sparked their interest Needless to say I won`t be calling
  14. Thanks for all the help and the links. I still would like to know if there are limits on how much debt you can enter and should I exclude some debts which will become statue barred soon. Can I definately include mortgage arrears

  16. Should I have heard from FOS by now. They did respond saying that delays were happening because of sheer numbers but time is going on.
  17. Any thoughts on this scheme. What are the restrictions and the benefits? If I were to go ahead would I be advised to leave out some debts which may be approaching SB? Can you include mortgage arrears? Just any advice or guidance would be appreciated
  18. Any idea how to negotiate a restructuring of my arrears with this company in writing. I am always being advised to keep things in writing but I have twice nearly achieved restructuring but they absolutely insist on telephone contact. I am really not confident on the phone and will readily agree to anything in writng. Please help

  20. I have been in reciept of a discount of my CT this year. 25% single person as my daughter is on JSA. I got a letter from the "verification team" of my local council advising that they intend to visit my property next week to confirm that I am eligible. They expect me to produce evidence of income and other ID. Whats all this about? I provided all this when I applied and was granted the discount.Are they allowed to visit at a time that doesnt suit. All they have given me is a date. No time or even time slot. I work full time

  24. An update . Any advice would be appreciated. I was notified today by HFC that my complaint about PPI is not being upheld. They say that all the posters and documents stated that PPI was not compulsory and every other complaints was denied also. Do I now complain to FOS
