  1. SO if the letters continue to come every 21 days ( I already think it has oassed 21 days since the last) then do nothing, but if there is a 30 day gap, report them?
  2. No. All they said was that they were chasing my ex for a debt and wanted all information my parents could provide, which is none. They wouldn't accept this. My mother put down the phone.
  3. Thanks. Since they wouldn't give my parents any information we don;t even know when the debt was from. They didn't ask for me though, so it is either a debt she never told me about (unlikely given the time span) or she used my parents address after the divorce (more likely). Is there an act or something my parents can use/quote to these people?
  4. I sent a CCA letter on June 30th to DLC and recieved a letter dated July 11 from them indicting that they are still awaiting a copy of my original agreement from Egg and that they will forward it when it becomes available or if they are unable to provide it, they will supply me with a 'true copy' that will comply with Section 78 of the CCA 1974. They said they would update me within 21 days. They have sent me a few of these letters now, but none yet for November. No agreement, no true copy... What do I do? Just keep waiting? What if the letters stop? Thanks.
  5. My mother recieved a call yesterday from a debt collector who was looking for my ex-wife (we divorced YEARS ago) and they were very aggressive and abusive. We have no contact details for my ex, she moved back to Japan befoer the divorce and I have no interest in knowing where she is...you understand. Anyway, they did not identify themselves, but said that she had used my parents address and that therefore they must know where she is. They have not seen her or heard from her in 10 yearsand their address was NEVER her address! I want to help them know what to say if these people call again. It's not their debt, it's not my debt. But these people didn't seem to care. Help please?

  8. They sent a letter back indicating that they were awaiting a copy of my agreement from Egg but failing that they would send me a 'true copy' within 21 days and indicated this would satisfy the CCA? Is this the case? Also I sent a SAR to EGG but have not heard back. How long do they have to respond?
  9. Thanks. I have worked up those letters and will send them out Monday. Then I just wait it out?
  10. I recieved a letter today from DLC/Hillesden indicating that my debt had been sold from Egg to DLC. A letter from Egg was included saying the same. TDLC have asked for my payment proposals. I have not recived any information/communication on my Egg account since 2004, nor have I made any payments on it. I am not currently employed (maternity leave) and can not pay the full amount owed in one payment. Moreover, I don't know how much of the 'debt' they claim I owe is charges and how much is the actual debt. What steps can I take? I was going to write and offer them a full and final payment to close the debt of subsantially less than they are requesting, but I did not know if I should CCA them first or what? Any advice would be very very helpful!
