  1. Befre you go writing to anyone, check your sources as I do not believe this to be true. I maybe wrong, but check it first. Don't say I didn't warn you.
  2. "Once my claim is completed it will be put in their, so long as they don't offer me £100,000 if I sign a non disclosure agreement...." Mr Mountain, you are a disappointment, one would have imagined with your impressive forum track record, you of all people were not one who would stoop that low for a price. Even my fellow industry colleagues located in West Malling would find that rather out of character given your standing in the 'Fan Club' community. I wonder what the other members of your little 'club' might feel at such an implication of betrayal to their cause for a price? An interesting reflection on ones character wouldn't you say? If I may, I would like to comment on all that I have seen from these postings on 'matters Cabot' the dedication and the investigative qualities of your Club colleagues is indeed impressive. It is my observation that many within the Debt recovery industry itself have not subjected their own staff to such in-depth training and scrutiny of laws which govern the industry and this forum would provide a very interesting and valuable source of training material to which I profess to be somewhat surprised by and indeed impressed by the degree of analysis applied when it is not ones personal profession. The quest on Mr Maynard? Well, he is an extremely conscientious professional and works incredibly hard within the Cabot Group and has considerable influence within the industry governing bodies of which I believe you seem aware. I personally know, this action by many is causing a degree of distress as he has dedicated his professional life to this industry and contributed much. However, please do not be mistaking my comments as defending a position, merely stating that your concerns, actions, and pressures from these forums are generating a wind of change. Nobody, in whatever business one is in or has built, like to see their empire attacked. He and his fellow colleagues have taken note. Why not have the Fan Club approach them directly? Perhaps you would be surprised by their response to work along with you rather than against. My compliments on all your endeavors and efforts.
  3. Warm..but not hot. 'Influential' will suffice.
  4. You have no idea, from what I read, of how much you have helped Cabot customers already. Thank you Mr Seahorse. You will shortly see how it has helped. I will trouble you and your co-posters no more, thank you for the clarity and good luck in your quest. You appear well supported and a formidable force. Looking from the inside outwards so to speak, the impact your 'little' Fan Club is having throughout the industry seems to be working, irrespective of my own personal views which may surprise you often co-incide with those points raised. A need to study the impact of the industry's practices is obvious from the posts in this forum, focused by sub-sectors such as this one. The agenda for change is well and truely being drawn up if that is of any consolation, however painful that transition will be, I feel it is an inevitable result of consumer pressure once again. I will now centre my observations upon other issues within the forum. Thank you.
  5. Mr Seahorse, Quote: "Therefore I wish to inform you that, as you have in no way proved to my satisfaction the there IS an outstanding balance due to Cabot Financial (UK) Limited, and that Cabot Financial (UK) Limited has any right to any outstanding balance in any event, " What are your interpretations of the role of a debt collection agent then sir? Is it your opinion that the passing of a debt for collection is not proper as you are advising the many followers of your pursuits? If you are targeting Debt Recovery Agencies and advising people in this way, perhaps you would support your actions with facts and points of legal precedent to actually show how your arguments will stand up to legal scrutiny. I am sure the company you are challenging would prefer the actions you are demonstrating to others on this forum have credibility rather than some egotistical bravado dispolayed for the masses.
  6. I must congratulate you on your own ingenuity Mr Seahorse..I believe one or two individuals might not be too happy with this development.
  7. A Debt Recovery Agent will rarely if ever, "say they will flout the law". Practices need reviewing. Perhaps some attention is being paid to the objectives aired herein, it will certainly be raised at certain meetings within the industry if this is of any consolation. The objectives of the 'Fan Club' appear to be to ensure changes happen, quite how they will achieve this is somewhat unclear apart from the quote of Sarah regarding a 'deluge' promised of claimants turning from being debtors into the 'aggressors' - an interesting concept considering what has happened to the banks (as is evidenced within this and numerous other groups and forum) and one I am sure will not be missed by the Debt Recovery Industry as a whole despite their more ' Commercial and somewhat frowned upon' approach. Enlightening.
  8. In a nutshell - Yes. This seems to be the practice that most are concerned about and to which your 'fan club' appears dedicated. The letter referred to did have certain resonance and created a debate as to what the likley outcome would be. I was more inquisitive as to the Fan Clubs' intention on a more practible basis than an indesciminate letter. Sarah has outlined and Seahorse has changed some of his posts to reflect their position and I take it both are connected to the Fan Club. I am not so sure about you Rory as your other posts are occaisionally conflicting with the above veiw. Maybe I should re-read your posts before commenting further. Thank you for responding never the less.
  9. Thank you Sarah, the postings have begun to display a certain amount of intellectual flair I would expect in a debate as serious as this. Needless to say, Debt Recovery organisations are not normally responsive in any way to threats or 'promises' as the letter implies which might happen to those not wishing to change their tried and tested methods of business. What makes you so sure your little campaign will have any effect what so ever?
  10. I thank you for your input. Let me explain my reasoning. I am aware that your "Fan Club" has written to one particular Collection firm that I know of, informing them they the treatment your Fan Club members have inflicted upon Cabot and its' management will be forthcoming for them also and that forum members will be advised to follow your instructions if certain changes are not made to collection practices. I am interested in knowing quite what your "Fan Club" philosophy is, how many of you there are and what you intend to achieve. I might be able to assist, I might be able to contribute, I might object to what your are about. Either way I would like to know there is substance, not just for my own personal benefit but for the seriously concerned people who have suffered from Debt Collection Agencies overall who visit this forum. I am just asking you to put your 'mandate' on the table, show me you have some creditability and we can take it from there.
  11. "get these idiots who try to evade laws" Do you feel these people are idiots? People who have built a massive business? Do you really feel a small number of people like yourselves would have the knowledge or detail it would take to bring a company like Cabot to heal? I would like to hear more about your intentions so as to see what 'bottle' you small group have' Convince me...
  12. This my first posting and I have been following Cabot with interest for sometime. In order that we may divert the above friviolities to the more serious nature of this site and forum will you kindly tell me more about the Cabot Fan Club please and its' purpose, what you hope to achieve by using such a vehicle and convince me this is a more serious thread for the purpose of debate in the midst of the Debt recovery industry and that this thread is not just taking over from the now defunct Bear garden. Thank you
