  1. Hi all, out of interest I decided to get a copy of my credit rating. It seems the previous owner of my property is applying for loans using my address. Who do I inform in regards to this (as they are recent and a few applications), how does this affect my rating etc etc, as surely this is a form of fraud? I also opened a council letter the other day in error (surnames are very similar!) and he still has a parking permit for the property after nearly 2 years, and he doesnt live in the area! I have sent it back to the council informing them i opened in error etc but havent heard anything back. It seems he has forgotton to renew his post redirection to his new property as I am getting loads of his post now...
  2. thanks for the advice, worked a treat! although they only have 90 days to claim it back or else they will charge me...lets hope they sort it out!
  3. Hi All, I was involved in an accident on the 6th Oct whereby a lovely lady drove through a stop street into the side of my car. I tried to report immediatley to direct line, but had to call back on monday which I duly did to kick things off, as it was only the emergency services working on the weekend. so it took them until the weds to finally pick my car up (10th) so I had to take 3 days off work as they kept promising me that it would be 'today', 'first thing tomorrow' etc. I spoke to the garage that was instructed by DL, and they kept telling me I had to drive it in, when the rear wheel was bent in - this was instructed by DL Only today (22nd) is my car actually being assessed by the 'engineer'. This is after DL has told me on occassions that it is a write off, now its not, now its being assessed etc etc My hire car has now run out, and they are still unsure if it is a write off or not! I have asked for a manager to get back to me, but Croydon office seems to let them take 2 hr lunches and they just dont call back. I have asked for a regional manager to get hold of me, which the Croydon mgr said she would do, but now apparantly not, its been logged with the complaints dept! So directline are saying they are working as quickly as possible, my car should hopefully be assessed and now I dont have transport, and I start a new job on the 5th which requires me to have a car! DL stating that they only have to give me 14days worth of car hire, but clearly they havent been taking this seriously.... I dont know if I need to buy a new car, hire a car etc? Are they not obligated to cover hire car whilst they sorting yours out? Any advice greatly appreciated...
  4. thankss saint...so it doesnt matter that i have sent off a failure to comply letter already?
  5. i have just received the statements now, and as I have been on leave I now have to go through them. Although I have sent the failure to comply letter, what is your best advice on the way forward...
  6. thanks welshie, will have a look into it this afternoon... The chap on the phone who I spoke to said they had received my correspondence and it was being dealt with...thats it...no other details would be given to me!
  7. Hi All, Wonder if I can get some advice please... I sent off my SAR on the 29th June 07...no response... Sent failure to comply to SAR letter on 13th August 07... no response I have called the bank and they have stated that they have received the letters. What is my next best option, as I dont even know how much they owe me (ie.havent been able to full out my little spr/sh) Thanks
  8. hmmm...didnt realise that - as there is no signage to say it...will check again this eve...I just ran into the laptop shop to pick up my laptop...so was there for about 2 mins... maybe I should just pay the fine and be done with it...although it irritates me highly!
  9. I have a residents parking permit, which allows you to park in the street in the parking bays...So it says 'university road sw19' (thats what it actually says) The red route is on the High Street, not on university road... thats why I am puzzled about the whole thing, and my car is not white, like they have on the ticket... thanks for your help green meanie
  10. Hi I was def in a parking space...with my parking permit showing...
  11. Hi, I was issued with a PCN for supposedly parking on a red route...I was not parked on the red route, but in a parking bay - my bumper might have been out of the bay, but my wheels were firmly inside the space. I queried the warden who was issuing it, who then quickly slapped it on my windscreen and started a shouting at me, much to the amusement of passers by! I have written to TfL requesting photos and laying a complaint about the behaviour of the warden, but they said they dont have any photos and are not required to give me any if they did. Surely, as I was on the 'red route' and these are monitored by cameras, through the DPA i should be able to get evidence. About the wardens behaviour they stated it never occured...huh? I have just checked on line (seeing what the payment process is) and they have the colour of my car wrong, they say its white when its not.. The thing is, what can I do to demonstrate I wasnt on a red route, but in a parking space?? any advice would be great...
