  1. Hi guys, I have three defaults on my account. I have split them into sections below: HSBC In 2005 I defaulted as an 18 year old on a HSBC current account. The amount was for £159. I cannot remember receiving a default notice for this. ********************* Halifax/Lowell In 2007 I defaulted on a Halifax student bank account. Halifax was £1,200. I did not receive a default notice for this either. The Halifax account has been passed over to Lowell Portfolio according to a letter I have just received, and my credit report has updated as a default made by Lowell Portfolio. ********************* Also in 2007 I defaulted on my Capital One credit card due to charges. The amount was £1,099. My credit limit at the time was £1,000. I cannot remember receiving a default notice. ********************* I want to go about removing these three defaults from my account. I know this will be difficult, but I know it is possible. Which grounds would you recommend for me to try to get these removed? The Halifax/Lowell account is the most annoying because I don't even know who Lowell are! They apparently know own the debt. I want my default removed, and debt passed back to Halifax. HSBC is for a minor £159. They never sent me a letter saying I would default. Capital One I defaulted because of charges. Is there anything I can do to remove my default because charges caused me to go over limit? Do I have a leg to stand on? Let me know your thoughts, and thanks for your help!
  2. UPDATE: Student loan company said they won't give the loan a recall, so I'm left with £0 at the moment from my loan. I'm going to write a letter to NatWest stating that we had an agreement on £60 per month, and they are going against there agreement by taking funds that are not to do with our agreement. What do you all think?!
  3. Grrrrrrrrrr Rang Natwest, who said the account wasn't fully closed, so I could make my repayments at £60 per month back. I was then told the debt had been cleared by my student loan; which leaves me with no student loan. I then said we had an agreement of £60 per month, not paying the full amount at once; which obviously happened when my loan went in. They said he didn't know what to do, and that he had gone through. I said I'll call student loan office and I did... They then said that they cannot recall the payment unless it was their fault, but it wasn't... How can I go about getting my student loan bank? Any letters I can send? Also Natwest, said they will open my account back up in ten days maybe after review...Shall I just reopen my overdraft? Grrrrrr
  4. Thanks for that! I'll give them a call, however you think I will be able to get the money over the counter at Natwest? By simply ringing them and telling them the payment went into the wrong account? A
  5. I recently had my account at Natwest (Student account) closed because of inactive usage for 6 months. They said that I owe them £1000 which is my student overdraft. I said I agree to pay them £60 a month, and have been doing so for the last 3 months. HOWEVER... Today a large sum of my student loan got paid into the account that was closed; £1100 to be precise. I knew this was going to happen because the student loan company wouldn't allow me to change my bank details a week ago as it was too close to the time the transfer was going to be made into my bank. How do I go about's retrieving the £1100 back? Does this now mean they owe the money? It simply means the money has gone into the wrong account; and I can continue paying them £60 right? Looking forward to your responses
  6. Haven't got back to me for about 6 months after I asked the debt recovery agents to get back to me with Credit Agreement. Nothing was sent, six months later I still wait? What situation am I in now? Do I just leave it, and wait for them to contact me in 5 years time????
  7. Recieved a letter today from Robinson Way advising me to pay them £91.53 on behalf of Paypal. Gave them a call, as I didn't have a clue to what they was talking about, and they said something about an old account that I had over a year and a half ago. It has taken that long to come back to me? I know I didnt have any sort of balance owned to Paypal, so I want to know exactly what they are talking about? I asked them for more information on the debt, but they said they couldnt tell me. Asked Paypal, but no response. How can I go about clearing this? I don't know where the debt has come from?? Cheers
  8. Brilliant, does anyone know the address I can send the letter to Debitas to? I don't want to send it to the one on the letter they sent, just in case that is for out mail only...
  9. Thats brilliant, thanks for the heads-up!! If I have to pay the 'holding fee' Debitas want tomorrow, shall I pay or send letter? Will they take further action before the letter comes into place which could seriously effect me? Anyone had anything like this previously?
  10. hi guys, I have had Debitas on the phone to me over the last week, claiming that I owe £1200 to Capital One in debt. However I know a large chunk of this is charges I would like to recover. Debitas have said I need to pay £60 holding fee, then £250 a month to pay off the debt! I don't really have that sort of money, what can I do to get the charges down? Also I found Debitas extremely rude. I want to keep Debitas from being involved as little as possible. How serious are they in taking more action, like using people to visit you etc? What are first steps, to clearing this up, recovering charges and stopping Debitas from hassling? Thanks guys
