  1. I've had one removed recently as a gesture of goodwill and two updated their missed payments to made on time, even though they wasn't. Try your luck. If the defaulted account is regulated by the CCA, send a CCA and DN notice request. That's all i did though i am now in further dispute with some of the others on my credit file. If some remain unpaid and are in a position to pay an amount for full and final settlement, do as Stopthethieves suggested above and negotiate their removal within the conditions. Just remember to get it in writing before making a payment.
  2. I think that's pretty harsh given the fact they have to do their training like Police Officers do, though the content is different. They do not hold the office of constable so do not need to take an oath, otherwise they would be Police Officers. Anyway, back on topic. I believe your issue should be with the store and its manager not the PCSO. It would have been the managerexplaining the facts to the PCSO who in turn has to act and did so by requiring your name and address. You did the right thing providing your name and address otherwise it could have dragged on a lot longer and ended in them detaining you for the 30 mins until a police officer arrived. If i was you id complain to the stores' head office as the manager appears a joke
  3. That's the first time i have spoken to a DCA in many many years. I got both my Credit Files from Equifax and Experian and both say it is owned by HSBC but like i say, Lewis have been writing to me for the past year. Time to write a letter to HSBC i think Are there any templates or any information to assist in my reply?
  4. Thanks for your replies IMS and DX, Its appreciated. I checked my CRA and it does state HSBC own the debt. However, i have had previous letters from Lewis DCA regarding the amount outstanding. I contacted Metropolitan collection services via telephone and established that the debt was sold and owned by Lewis DCA. I asked whether they were chasing the debt on behalf of HSBC or was it owned by Lewis. I was told it was now owned by Lewis and not HSBC. Then i was informed HSBC have recalled the debt in order to pay the PPI refund and once that offer is accepted the debt will go back.
  5. Thats annoying. I am not sure if they still own the debt or not. Now i read on here about banks paying off against an existing balance for the account in question but i didn't realise they could offset the money against a seperate account with a different account number.
  6. Hey I received an offer today from HSBC which i am happy with. The offer refers to 2 loans which were settled in 2005 and 2008. I however defaulted on a seperate loan in 2010 and the majority of the balance remains outstanding. They have stated the monies will be used to pay off some of the outstanding debt. Can they do this? After all the PPI reclaim relates to a closed account? The account still outstanding remains with HSBC though i have had a third party DCA write to me. Any advice is appreciated
  7. Thanks for your reply.I was under the impression though that they had a timescale to adhere to and as HSBC had breached that previosuly they were previously fined by FOS?Anyone else had a complaint settled by HSBC? How long did you wait until you heard from them?
  8. Hey Does anyone know how long HSBC are taking to process PPI complaints? I was under the impression the time scale had reverted back to 8 weeks at the turn of the year, though my complaint is fast approaching this deadline. I sent all information to them which arrived on the 23rd March and was signed for. After 3 weeks i received two letters dated the same, one saying they will investigate and the second stated they dont keep data after six years and my complaint is closed etc etc Firstly i had sent relevant credit agreements and statements with the questionnaires that show PPI payments etc but this appeared to be ignored... a delaying tactic? As a result of this letter, i sent all the info again including every bank statement and agreement for the term of the loans. How difficult and time consuming is it to go through the courts should they not respond in adequate time? Anyone had any success doing it this way? The FOS seem to be taking forever and bank appear to be pushing people it that direction as they know this, therefore encouraging many people to just give up.
  9. Hi All, What the best course of action in regards to sending a CCA if i/you have already sent a previous letter acknowledging the debt etc even though i havent set up a payment plan. I wasnt aware they couldnt enforce the debt without the agreement, evem if they had been sold the debt. Many thanks in advance Andy
