  1. Thank you so much. I will get the ball rolling and keep you updated.
  2. Hi, not meaning to hijack this thread. I recently received payment for mis-sold ppi for my credit card but someone said i can claim for loans taken out, even some years back. The last loan I had, or should I say, two were back in the 90's. One I beleive was with barclays and the other from a bank via my previous employer. Thing is, I have no details whatsoever for both! (looks like a road going to nowhere). Shall I write to the barclays branch i once had the account with in the hope they could find my details (i since moved address)? Is there a website or company that would be able to show all loans taken out by a individual? All help and advice appreciated. Peter
  3. I took out an MBNA card in 2002. I then lost my job in April 2008 and the ppl insurance paid my card to May 2009 when i had found employment (I owe £8000+ and the insurance paid out £3789). Only recently I wrote to MBNA on 28/11/11 seeking compensation. I received a letter today stating they will be sending me a cheque for £10109. I think they realised they had made enough off of me down the years. Persistence overcomes resistance.
  4. I was thinking. Shall I initally write requesting when i originally took out my card, a copy of the T&C, and some statements? (since i made my insurance claim which they covered from Sept 2008 - May 2009, total payout to MBNA from the insurers was c.£3920, I no longer am been paying insurance as they have reduced the interest rate.) should i still proceed a claim from the period of taking my card up until August 2008 then minus the amount paid out? Not sure.
  5. thanks Rebel,i will have a go and keep you updated.
  6. thanks IMS. is there a standard type letter around that I can use?
  7. ok. deduct the amount i paid them on a monthly basis before i was laid off or the amount they paid my card when i was unemployed?
  8. I have an MBNA/Abbey card that I took out in either 2000 or 2001. I had run up a a considerable debt of around £8k. I was made redundant in 2008 and the card's insurance made monthly payments between Sept 2008 - May 2009 (i had found work).I am still continuing to pay the outstanding balance which now stands at £4k but was wondering if I could make a claim? Any advice/help would be appreciated.

  12. Clarion48, Yes. I sent a standard letter requesting bank charges. I've seen a copy of another letter I'm supposed to send stating that if they don't refund then I'll take them to court etc. Shall I send it now? Pete
  13. ...just received my statement of charges from Abbey totalling £785. How do I approach this, taking into consideration the recent Lloyds/TSB win? Pete
