  1. Hi Bathgatebuyer, Thank you, I will request new copies of my credit file and try to get any unathorised footprints removed. I really hadn't thought about trading standards so that will be my next port of call. I cannot believe that these kinds of copies are allowed to operate! Kind regards and thanks for taking the time to reply to me! Missmoomoo

  3. Hi, I am new to this site but desperately seeking some practical advice. Mid March, I spoke to Moneysupermarket as I was looking for a personal loan with the view of consolidating some of my outgoings/debts to make things manageable. I was unsure at that stage. I spoke to a gentleman who transferred me to another department (this turn out to be Yesloans, the caller did not announce this at all) and they provided a quotation. I ask for another qoutation based on a different term of years and he offered to send me the documentation through the post along with an application form - which I could scrap if not interested in pursuing the loan. So I said okay, completed details. I asked who the loan would be with and found out it was Yes Loans. Did some research that afternoon and found out that they were a loan broker - not lender and had terrible reviews, constantly credited checked files, passed on details to dubious companies who would then credit check your file - subsequently ruin it, harrass you with endless letters and calls. One lady had had 93 credit applications made and failed on her behalf without full knowledge. I received the form from YesLoans, rang them the same day to tell them that I am not interested in pursuing anything with them, would not be paying them their £50 fee as requested to complete the process and not asked that they do not forward my details to anyone. They had said that I had given them consent when I completed the application form on the phone and that they had already released my details. Without my signature????? I had agreed to them 'possibly contacting me regarding marketing' but nothing authorising the checking of my file. I have written letters, made numerous calls, registered with the telephone preference service but I have already had at least one unauthorised check on my file. I argued that if verbal agreement was acceptible then why I need to complete the application form? I have phone calls, texts and letters for debt management agents, [problem] calls and even though I have approached the credit reference agencies, financial ombudsman, fsa, consumer direct and information commissioners office they have been as useful as a chocolate tea pot! I have so far established that they have not followed the data protection act but not making any progress on getting my details removed and stopping unauthorised checking of my file. PLEASE can someone offer some advice - my credit file is bad enough as it is I cannot afford for it to get worse. I have been trying to work my way out of debt. All this because of a quotation!
