  1. I can only presume the 2.5 years haggling away was because the EU were in denial and could be seen as a deliberate attempt to thwart Brexit, we're bigger than you bully tactics I suppose. There certainly wasn't going to be an agreement on fishing rights and that's just one issue. Maybe they hoped the longer the uncertainty went on there was more chance of getting the UK to have a second referendum presuming the people would change their mind. Then there's the theory you say it was our attempt to stretch it out, or both colluding!
  2. I think the deal will be accepted in the knowledge the transition period and future years can or will be used to take forward what is really required by the UK. From what I see, it's a gradual break away which it was always going to be. We were never going to please everyone with the final agreement. To me it shows the disagreements we've had with the EU for a long time. Business wants stability as much as can be possible and they will have much input over time to put themselves in a comfortable trading position. It may be there's infighting within the Conservative party but my guess is they will compromise to stay in power.
  3. Just watched We are most amused and amazed ITV. Very uplifting I laughed a lot!
  4. Dubai Police to use hovver bikes. The dream of hovver cars is nearer for me:-D https://driving.ca/auto-news/news/dubai-police-start-training-on-actual-flying-hover-bikes
  5. Interesting history https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2011/oct/31/corporation-london-city-medieval
  6. I think there are people driving who have never passed a UK driving test or any driving test. Banned drivers driving. People driving on medication which they shouldn't be, those taking recreational drugs and those who's drinking habits cause them to be permanently drunk. It's like Mad Max out there! Grrrrrrrrr
  7. Interesting, driving competency in MOS today. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-6349473/When-doddery-drive.html
  8. Complex subject A1 I could say employers and employees both have their grievances and again no change there then. I think the John Lewis ethos has a lot to teach us. I will be investing in a dash cam as what i'm experiencing on the roads is frightening. Someone saw me driving down a hill so I had right of way, this person stayed in their position and as soon as I came to pass their exit from a building car park on my right, pulled across the road from my right into my driving path in such a way I had to pull towards a bush on my left and let them go. It was intimidating and bullish.
  9. From the TV news on the Budget a summary, the more you earn the better off you'll be. No change there then!
  10. There's one thing which remains constant and that's change. Climate change is one of our worries amongst others http://www.bbc.com/earth/story/20150323-how-long-will-life-on-earth-last
  11. Mine is a balanced view. There have been cataclysmic weather episodes before humans would have contributed to them, earthquakes and volcanoes also play a part. During the Roman period the UK was warmer. Saying that, the human race needs to make sure we are not now speeding up or adding to the problem.
  12. Friend introduced me and we both received £50 gift towards the bills:-D
  13. Good to hear from you A1. Swift through the shredder that's a good sound!
  14. It's a fun sum. If you add the number of years you've lived to the year you were born, you will get the current year so the every 1000 years is not correct. It is actually the case on 31st December every year. It also works for anybody on any day of the year after their birthday.
  15. I knew i'd have a disbeliever:madgrin: PT it's what your age was on 17th Sept which is ? + the year you were born. It equals 2018. The Queen is 92 , this age as at 17th Sept and born in 1926 = 2018
  16. yesterday was a special day. The whole world was the same age! There's only one chance every 1,000 years. Your age + your year of birth every person is 2018. It's so strange experts can't explain it I understand. Have a go a the sum:-D
  17. I've left my energy provider recently switched to Bulb:-D I'm looking forward to making a great saving and future lower bills. I'll report back as time goes on.
