Anybody any thoughts? Has anyone else had to attend a hearing to have a stay removed with the Abbey? -

Hiya Sharon - have just PM'd you.For some weird reason my last reply to you isn't in my sent folder. -
NEWS on my Abbey claims A bit unexpected as well..... Claim 1 (£700) Request for stay to be lifted submitted on 9 October. Still with the District Judge However Claim 2 (£3800) Request for stay to be lifted submitted 19 October (I know, 10 days later!!) "the hearing of the claimants application for Stay to be Set Aside will take place at 11.30 on the 24 November." I am surprised at this. I expected the stay to either be lifted, or the application to be refused. I'm also surprised the one applied for first is still with the Judge. So, off to court to get the stay lifted! I wonder if I will end up going for the smaller claim also. I paid the standard £35 fee (application without a hearing) for each claim Spoke to the court and apparently the Abbey will have to attend. After going for my citi hearing i'll almost be on first name terms with the staff at the court........

Well done! i've got to back to court - this time for the Abbey! My big claim (I have two) has a stay on it and i've applied for the stay to be removed - rather than theme just saying yes or no, the Judge has ordered a hearing!

aaah, ok. It was worth asking about though.

The loan was cleared when I took the (stupid) larger loan with GE First National. Are they part of the same group in any way and will it ever affect my current secured loan with them if they are? Dug out some paperwork, all I can find are the credit agreements and the mortgage deeds. Not one of them has an account number on it. Can't remember ever getting any kind of final statment from them. I don't even know how much the ERC was - seems it was 6 months interest, but I don't know what 6 months interest would have been. (£5000 loan plus £600 PPI at 10% APR. 120 instalments of £74 is anyone is mathematically minded)
-
This may be a non-starter, but it just popped into my head and I dug out the paperwork. Through sheer stupidity I took out a £5000 secured loan with Matlock bank trading as London Personal Loans. A year later, I consolidated that into a larger loan with GE Money - First National (don't worry, I've learnt my lesson!!) I'm guessing I would have had to pay some kind of redemption fee/penalty for 'paying off' the loan so early? Is it something I can claim back? I guess I would need a closing statement from them via an S.A.R - (Subject Access Request)?. Are Matlock/LPL and GE Money/First National part of the same group ? Edit: Just read the back of the paperwork and it says I would have been charged 6 months worth of interest as I paid it off within the first 5 years.

Elsinore v Citi Cards***WON & PAID***
keren29 replied to elsinore's topic in Other Institutions Successes
I've only ever had one letter from Brian - today. A very terse one liner to tell me the money the court had ordered Citi to pay into the courts had been done. My other letters (replies to prelim and LBA) were answered by Clare in the Office of the Chief Exec. -

I guess so!! If they sent out a copy of the breakdown of the charges with each letter when replying to a claim, then everyone would know just how they were made up! Obviously though, as my claim is for charges way back in 2002/2003, I'd need a breakdown of the charges from then, rather than their current charges, because obviously they won't be the same as now ........will they...... -
Hi - might have missed it in your thread, but did you attend on the day?

And as I have Mr. S's direct line phone number, I could help out by providing it to the news desks....... Apparently though, when another CAG member asked for his phone number, (told to me via PM, won't say who just to protect them!) he refused, saying he didn't want it plastered all over the website....... -
keren29 v Abbey ** WON **
keren29 replied to keren29's topic in Santander/Abbey and Cahoot successes
Well, i'd be generous and offer to drop the 8% interest and the daily interest for my first claim.....about £15 in total......;-) Wouldn't be quite so generous with my second claim as the 8% interest is £1000...... -

I have news. got the order today and gave the court a ring as the court funds office still hadn't had the money. She got the file out and was fantastic. Citicards have written to the court and complained about the order (no surprise there then), but the bottom of their letter says 'please find attached a cheque for £530. 61'. Excellent news. The full amount. So, now all I need is the defence and it can move forward. Apparently the Judge is looking at the file (again!) tomorrow, so I will have more news soon. I wonder if I am allowed to see the letter? Anyone know?
