Hi loopylou22 my friend had her warranty cancelled after quite a few months of haggling,carcraft were at first unwilling to do anything but after the FO got involved they wrote cancelling the contract and repaying the money my friend had paid,its a horible situation,but i would advise anyone to keep trying,cant make things any worse can it?? good luck!! x

Hi Havent been on the site for ages,so heres an update,my friend (as above)reported carcraft to the FO,who replied saying they would look into her case,last saturday she rec a letter from carcraft"cancelling" her warranty""as requested""!!!!This was after lodging a formal complaint against them,having rec approx 10 "give us our money "letters from them,visits from debt collectors,the lot!!!She sent the FO all the correspondance between herself and carcraft,and after nearly 5 months of stress and worry carcraft finally decided to cancel this worthless piece of c***,the diff between yourself and my friend is that she was unaware that she had the warranty,and her case was that she was mis-sold this.The FO told my friend that they had over 1000 complaints against carcraft,and so her case would take some time to resolve,In the letter she rec on sat carcraft asked her to withdraw her complaint against them now this matter had been settled!!From reading on this site no one is happy with the warranty,which appears to cover virtually sod all anyway!!!keep complaining !!!!
  3. hi mattyj23 Exactly the same type of sales technique was used on my friend,the casual "and because im such a nice guy i'll throw this in for you".She has reported them to Trading Standards who were more than happy to help bcoz they have had so many complaints about carcraft and their sales team,will keep you posted on whatever my friend gets back,Have you thought about contacting Trading Standards yourself over your agreement?
  4. carcraft are apparently "looking into " my friends case,the fact that she didnt get a copy af the agreement will perhaps be her get out clause,if anyone else has had dealings with carcraft over their warranty i would be glad of any advice or tips you could pass on
  5. hi yeh its normal i got same one,just continue with your claim,n1 form via county court or mcol,whichever you think is the best route for you,
  6. hi yeh the warranty is with NAC. my friend has been the CAB who have now referred her to trading standards,bcoz she didnt rec the "warranty" paperwork in the post with the finance agreement within 7 days(she had to ask for it after anotha payment was taken out of her acc) the CAB think this may help her case bcoz you must rec all paperwork within that time legally,trading standards were happy to take the case on as the file on carcraft is growing daily!!!as for the finance side of it,they said the same thing to her and as she had never applied for finance before went along with it bcoz she thought this was the norm,carcraft ARE **** and trading standards need to investigate all the claims and do something about them,
  7. hi wait the 14 days you gave them in the LBA then file your court case,ive just done that with the N1 form via my local county court,,GOOD LUCK!!
  8. just an update,my friend is in constant! communication with carcraft over her "warranty" which isnt worth the paper its written on anyway ,but carcraft have written to her saying there is nothing she can do as she signed the agreement,even tho THAT agreement was the one she DIDNT rec thru the post with her finance agreement,they put a form in with this "go away your stuck with it letter" saying that if she didnt agree with their decision she could appeal!!are these people for real!?!?!?OF COURSE SHES GOING TO APPEAL!!!!!anyway its taking forever and she seems to be getting nowhere fast,also she was told that she cant go FO bcoz its not the right sort of agreement?!?? shes going to C.A.B. so will update as to what they say,if ANYONE has got any ideas or had a similar situation then please let me know how you got on, x

  12. as far as i u/stand interest isnt added till the court stage,so if you have all your charges the prelim letter is your next step,so just deal with one step at a time,copy n paste the spread sheet,hide the int column and detail your own charges.

  14. hi as far as i understand it unless you have either copies of your statements showing when the charges were taken or a copy of just the charges themselves then your next step is to report the bank for not complying? ICO – Information Commissioner's Office

  16. just an update,rec reply from n/wide re; my LBA, got same standard letter i rec after prelim so court here i come,!!!am gona do N1 form tonight and take to court after weekend,cant help admitting im a bit nervy about it but im determined(ish) to get my money back,ill just be in panic mode for 5 weeks worrying!!!any advice or help would be appreciated

I would wait a couple of days, if you read thru some of the threads the advice seems to be to give them over the allotted timescale,have you checked your acc?? a lot of the time the money goes in without any acknowlegement from the banks,although if your at that stage your probably checking every 20 mins,!!!!
  19. panic mode !!!someone posted the letters for me coz i got tonsillitis n cudnt get out,they never got them recorded del!! so will i have to send them again recorded? im gona look a right eejit sending the same freakin letter twice in 24 hrs tho arent i!!!! sorry bluey7 for not replyin sooner,yeh i had all my statements ive only bin with them 4 years so accessed 2 years online which is all i needed coz thats the time scale for my charges.
  20. have today done LBA am posting tomorrow,cant help but worry about n/w/demanding overdraft back once the next stage kicks in coz obviously their not gona pay up just coz ive asked them nicely are they??? are they?!?!?;-) ive become sooooooooooooo addicted to this(sad i know)reading everything i can.

  22. hi have a look through all the relevant n/wide stories,they make fascinating reading! my advice for what its worth, is to stick to the timetables advised,im at the lba stage and judging by other peoples experiences n/wide will take it to the wire,have patience and im sure you will be successful
  23. Sent prelim letter 11th June. I'm claiming for £1600. 21st June received reply asking did I need help managing my accounts (no jus stop charging me outrageous amounts!!) I've got an overdraft so I am a bit concerned that they may ask for repayment of this. Have been reading everything and anything on this subject. I have recently opened co-op account after Lloyds TSB declined me. Any tips, advice, support very much welcomed. Comments on spelling or grammar not!!!!! (you know who you are!)(x)
  24. Hi My Friend Has Bought A Car From Carcraft,without Realising She Even Had A Warranty!!!! She Only Found Out When Another Dd Came Out Of Her Bank 2 Weeks After The First Payment,she Foned To Cancel But Was Told It Was After The 30 Day Deadline,she Has Spoken To The Manager,complained About The Salesman Omitting Any Ref To A Warranty When She Signed Her Paperwork,but She Has Got Nowhere.this Was Her First Experience Of Buying Anything On Hp,isnt There Anything She Can Do?any Advice Would Be Great!!!!! update sat 23rd trawled the Ombudsmans site and found a misrepresentation clause that possibly may help,if anyone else thinks theyve been mis sold a warranty or been hi-jacked into buying one please let me know how you got on,any info would be really helpful, thanks
