I have recently been made aware of a liability order for council tax made in 2002 and refute these claims although the Council say I am still liable even with time-barring. One technicality I was wondering about is the name the order is against, so for example, my name is Mr. Stephen. initial. Surname, the order was against a Steve Surname, is it worth querying this as a technicality?

Strange news. I received a letter from LTSB today offering me a settlement of approximately £1200.00 after I had claimed £2400.00!!!! I went to the ATM tonight and thought my balance was higher than it should be and then checked my on-line banking. There was a credit yesterday listed as "Goodwill" for £750.00. I'll take that thanks as a didn't ask for it. I will also agree to the other offer as I'd rather have most of the compensation now, than wait a year and possibly get a negative result from the OFT case. Any thoughts?
