  1. I dont really care about your thoughts regarding my personal view and interpretation of the "Slave Trade". I dont want to get into debate about my opinion, but I do understand and read history and the slave trade is not just an African incident/disease. The Slave Trade has occurred for many a century and many a continent, you do realise since "Adam and Eve" there has been slaves, Also American colonies were Whites slaves and they were America's first slaves prior to Africans arrived, So please spare me your ideals... And yes I believe the Culture of "Call Centre's" is appalling and slave like? in this day of age. If you don't like this thread don't read or respond. Have a nice day?. Dalu
  2. Hi IGBO, A couple of questions so I can try and assist. 1. What was your hourly wage? Again does not matter as this can distinguish if I am Agent or Team Leader. 2. When did your employment (i) start; (ii) end? Don't see the need to ask this as I know and will present to the Courts when time arise 3. What evidence do you have that you were formally instructed to attend 20 minutes early? I was instructed by Conduit trainers and I have former employee's who will verify this is the norm and PS... It's a Computer Environ so I logged into the pc's prior to logging into the phone turrets.. But nevertheless I know and people who who work in the Call Centre Industry know?... So as I am researching would like the information, I have previously posted not ADD any more personal evidence for Conduit UK Ltd who I guess are monitoring such Forums.. which I know they do because the trainers AGAIN confirmed they do... Just an added point the "Call Centre Environment" from my point of view works very much like the Slave Industry. The Agent does not have many cards to play with and it is desgined that way for a purspose I hope that this thread highlights what is going on and I believe people are being taken advantage of.
  3. I ofc agree, but I can't believe that noone else who has worked in the "Call Centre Domain" hasn't put a claim in, or takeen their case to court. This is why I am hoping for heads up from ANYONE whos has made a similiar claim before I pursue what I believe is an injustice and tbfh Employer taking the michael "You get paid from 9am BUT you have to come in to start our (Conduit) Pc's which take approx 10-20mins depending if after you boot it worls at all, Thank you and have a nice shift." Please include any Court Cases, URL/Links or your experience and conclusions if possible. I am sending a letter under Data Protection Act to get all the data they hold on me?. Regards African
  4. Thank to the person who has move the thread to the correct Forum. As per my thread "Call Centre's Not Paying For Time Spent Booting Up A their Pc's before start of shift." Has anyone got url/links to research this further as I have been montitoring the Amercian links up to know. PS. I am unable to install CAG add-on on Firefox my default browser "CAG toolbar 0.8 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 3.6.8." Please advise. Regards African
  5. I used to work for Conduit Ltd (118 Ltd ) (3 months stop gap thank god) as a Call Centre Agent I had to arrive at work 20-25 minutes before my scheduled hours to boot up Conduit's Windows 2000 PCs and load their applications. I had to be ready and have their applications booted and loaded before I official start my shift and log into Telephone/Turret which is to Conduit's benefit not mine as I was a lowly, minimum paid agent to take calls as soon as the shift commenced BUT it took 20 mins to boot up thats if it booted at all?. I eventually mutally left Conduit and got a excellent real job in what I was skilled and trained for. I have been researching "Working Hours Act 1998" and looking at various links from the USA. http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20081120/0250062895.shtml . Please can someone advise me as If I exclude 3 weeks of training for the 3 months I worked there I have on average worked 20 minutes for non reward to start old slow pc's for Conduit benefit then start a 10.5 hour shift which in fact nearly 11 hours. I want to sue Conduit for not paying me for the time I sit waiting for their computers to boot up Regards African
  6. Is this correct Everyone gets Child Benefit and everyone with a joint income under about £60,000 gets Child Tax Credit. But Working Tax Credit is only for people on a household income of less than £16,000. I have just commenced a new job where I am on £35k plus a year after being unemployed and doing low wage roles in between where I did get Working Tax Credits for earming less than £10k. I am unable to use the Helpdesk as they are apparently busy 7days a week from 8am-8pm Honestly so hence trying the forum...
  7. Well well well. ditto I decide to write a letter regarding "Change of Circumstances" as I had to do the same a months previously and your issues are identical. The service is a shambles and I even tried 07:58 in the Morning and 19:58 in the Evening same result. Please update forum regarding letter of complaint and incurred telephone costs..

  10. I just got a reply to my hardship email to Barclays Bank and I also have the email address now and details on the Barclays Represenative who is dealing with my claim..... Dear Mr XXXXXXX, As an introduction I am now managing your legal claim (XXXXXXXXX) against Barclays Bank PLC. In light of your email regarding your current financial difficulties, I have forwarded a request to the financial hardship team within the bank who will contact you shortly. This team will ask for your assistance in making an assessment of your present financial circumstances, and will then decide what the most appropriate course of action is for you at this point. Depending on the result of this assessment, you may be offered the return of a portion of your charges on a without prejudice basis to assist you. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Kind Regards, xxxxxxxx (removed his name for the time being)..
  11. I have sent a email to Barclays to see if I get a reply.. Dear Emma/Sharon My family are experiencing 'very difficult financial circumstances', and I have already issued a court claim (Claim Number 7XXXXXX) against Barclays for almost £5k - money which we were relying on to help us out with a very difficult situation. I have been notified that Cardiff County Courts are begining to UNSTAY cases and was wondering will you be looking at my case prior to any movments by the Cardiff County Courts. I am also going to contact the courts and see if I can be added swiftely to the first allocation of UNSTAYED cases. Regards Mr XX XX
  12. I am one of those who's "NOT" just telephoned 02920 376400 them after I got this thread email alert... As it's stated "Each case is taken on it's own individual merits." I am wondering as I have been made redundant is there another course I can take and if so please direct me to the right place to send the neccessary template to the Bank or Court.. Cheers
  13. Hi skeggs885, Yes I would contact them and check your current siutation. I took my foot of the Gas as I had issues such as job security so just by contacting the courts I have confirmed that mine case is still "Stayed" I have sent a email to FOS and will read up and digest and see if it's possible for the FOS to send a letter of hardship on my behalf... will update forum accordingly when I get round to step 2 as below: (2) We can send details of your complaint to the business on your behalf – if you send us a completed complaint form telling us the relevant details. Our complaint form is on our website at the web address above. Or you can phone us directly on 0845 080 1800 (office hours) to give us details of your complaint – which we can forward to the business for you. So will use website route... after Xmas task lol...
