  1. the mortgage was paid off? Yes property sold off in about 2001 I think. - everything paid off. joint loan....was this a secured loan? No - unsecure loan. Was all put in my name 2008.
  2. There was a joint mortgage years and years ago and a joint loan. Her name was removed from the loan though and it was all put into my name. It's just strange that she has never received anything before. We split up so long ago and I've received nothing. I guess I'll just wait and see if anything else arrives.
  3. I just re-read her message and it was addressed to me. She said it was from a Search Company (?) and when she said how did they get her address they said it was by association. We divorced years ago, should we be connected in anyway on a credit rating? She's remarried.
  4. I don't know. I don't really want to bother her. I said she'd probably get another letter maybe a few then they would most likely give up. I've asked her to send me details if she receives another one. If I get it I will post on here. Always good to get this group's opinions and to pass on info. I'm just guessing but I suspect some company has bought a load of statute barred debts on the cheap and is flinging out letters to see what sticks. I guess they found her by tracking her married name on credit records through to her new name. I'm not sure I would have any reference to credit on my parent's address as I left home before any of this and they have moved several times too but that's my only concern is they get worried by receiving a demanding letter. thanks. I'll post any updates if there are any.
  5. Sorry but I'm not sure which question you are replying to She threw the letter away so I have no details. She doesn't remember the name. She literally called and said we broke up years ago and that was it.
  6. Hi all, long time no visit. Hope this is in the right section, apologies if not. I just received an SMS from my ex wife to say she got a letter in the post regarding a debt in my name. Unfortunately she threw the letter out so I have no details, she called them and asked why she received it and they said it is by association (her surname is now her new husbands so I'm quite amazed). She told them she has no idea where I am. I live in SE Asia now, have been solidly for 5 years and on and off for 6 before that. Right my questions are these. I have had no contact with any finiance companies/credit cards or anything for at least ten years (no correspondence or calls) so surely they would be past the Statute of Limitations now? and, how did they find my ex wife who has changed surname twice since we split up 13 years ago? lastly, are my parents likely to receive anything? They are old and I'm worried about them getting demands. I have a basic bank account in England that was registered to their address but there is no credit attached to it (no overdrafts, no loan, no credit cards). Oh I forgot add, is it possible to restart the 6 years from the beginning again if someone/I respond to any correspondence or can only a judge do that? Thanks for reading.

  11. Hello, who are you? Who did you want? Errr, I'm asking you. Who you are. Interim Justicia. Oh right. yeah I know who you are. Byeeeee. Darn......
  12. Anyone recognise this number? Got a message with a ref number left on desk at work. Grrr. Presuming it's an agency but wouldn't tell me who they were when I rang!? Just like to know who I am dealing with before I confirm who I am and they have got hold of me.... Cheers.
  13. Hi, bit of an odd one this. I need to make a payment to Debt Managers Ltd and wanted to do it by bank transfer. No way am I handing over card details or setting up Direct Debts with them. But their payment slips have no sort code on. It's a Transcash giro thing. Anyone know where I can pay these things into? Never used them before and there is no instructions. You'd think they didn't want the money paid! Thanks
  14. Hi, I have a loan with British Gas and it has Creditcare Basic (their insurance cover). Am I allowed to cancel the cover during the life of the loan? I am nearly three years into a 7 seven year loan. If I was allowed to cancel would there be any adverse reaction from the loan company like trying to demand immediate repayment of the balance or anything silly? Cheers guys....and gals!
  15. It seems a similar pattern here. CCA'd DLC (for Egg) and got no response, all letters ceased arriving in fact. Then Bryan Carter popped up along with Fredrickson International. Going to pass on my Bryan Carter letter to Law Society methinks. oh, and a CCA for Fredrickson.
