  1. Hi, The taxrebate thing is where they check your income tax etc.. and I am assuming any rebate is given to the IVA. To be honest my tax code has gone down, because my employer has miss calculated and HMRC reckon I owe them £1800 - so I am doubtful there is any rebate due. It was more the principal of it, and whether anyone else had had the same request. and can they demand I do this. Cheers 5bellies
  2. Hi, I have been in an IVA for just short of 7 years. and included in it was a credit card from Yorkshire Bank. The IVA started in Sept 2012 and they hung on to put the card into Default in Feb March 2013 appearing in the closed accounts section. It has been in default since then, and a month or so ago it disappeared of my Credit file (Same as all my other accounts that were in default and 6 years old) This month it has re appeared as an open account (Same number and same balance as the old one) I was under the impression that they couldn't do this. I raised a dispute with noddle and got a standard reply, this is why we are not removing it. Am I correct now it is 6 years old it should not be there. Thanks in advance 5Bellies
  3. Hi I have been in an IVA since 2012. At the outset the creditors wanted 6 years. In year 5.5 I did the equity release paperwork and was unable to raise any funds that way. I am now in year 6 month 8 (Only 4 months payments left) I have received an email from taxrebates.com telling me I have until the 14th May to respond to a review for my tax code. (your iva practitioner has liaised with us yada yada yada) and a very formal note: IMPORTANT: It is very important you start this review NOW. Simple question has any one come across this before, and am I obligated to do this? Thanks in advance 5Bellies
  4. From Memory, Im at work and the paperwork is at home. Will upload later.
  5. From memory the reference numbers are different. One looked more like an AC - Sort. If that is the case I may have answered my own question, that they are collecting for a loan account and a current account. Cheers
  6. Both are Lloyds. (One is Lloyds and the other is Lloyds TSB) Cheers
  7. Hi, I am after a little advice, or pointing in the right direction. One of my children has a debt from Lloyds TSB (A loan taken out many years ago). Whilst she was talking about money she mentioned she has two DCA's but only one debt. She said she's been paying it for years, but it never really seems to go down. She has dropped the paperwork off for me to look at, and they are both debts for Lloyds. Different amounts, but she only had one loan. Is there a way to find out if it is the same debt or somehow different ones. One company is Lowell Portfolio, and the other is Wescot. Thanks in advance 5bellies
  8. Will get her to set up noddle later today. cheers
  9. DCA is Credit security Ltd Looking at the statement last payment into the account was £20 Feb 2010 and in Oct 2010 it was transferred to CDR (Consumer Debt Recovery) Where in the SAR will I find the default letter - or do I need to read through it all?
  10. Hi, I wonder if anyone can assist me, I am now at the end of my knowledge. My stepdaughter had a bank account with lloyds-tsb and around December 2007 got into a little muddle. The upshot being the account went overdrawn and they slapped what looks like £100+ per month in charges on (Some months they are £270. From what I can see is in the month of Feb 08 she starts the month 8.57 OD after the charges she is £-140.79. This just then spirals. For some reason after that all activity stops apart from the odd charge, and then they keep one Direct Debit running to "LoansDirect" this of course bounces as she isn't working at this point so no money is going in. She was for a little while paying a monthly amount, but the debt was still going up rather than down so she stopped paying it. Fast Foward to now and we have what is in all fairness a debt of charges. Is there any way I can pursue this to have some or all of the charges refunded to the account, which would leave probably a reasonably managble debt. She isn't disputing the fact that she owes money, but more the fact that at least 80% is charges. I have done an SAR and have what can only be described as a forest of paperwork. I have a list of transactions as well. Any advice on how to proceed?
  11. Maybe I had a loan with them, and made the rest up I remember going into a shop they had in Crewe
  12. The Associates - I think they may have been car finance - I vaguely recall having a finance on a car many years ago. I Did find this: We regularly receive inquiries from people trying to find The Associates, a finance company which consisted of various companies including "Associates Housing", "Associates Finance", "Associates Financial Services" and "Associates Home Equity Service Inc." (formerly known as Ford Consumer Finance Co. Inc.). HSH Associates has no connection to any of those companies -- they companies were purchased by an arm of Citibank years ago. If you need to get in touch with CitiFinancial regarding a lien from any of 'The Associates' subsidiaries, use this address:
  13. Slightly off topic, but the proxy server will connect to the server that was allegedly hacked using its live IP address which is one that falls outside of anything beginning with 10 (10.b.c.d) or 172.16.0.0-172.31.255.255 or 192.168.0.0-192.168.255.255 (RFC 1918) That IP will be registered with IANA (who in turn will assign it to one of the 5 agencies (ARIN,APNIC,RIPE,AfriNIC,LACNIC) This will be the IP address that is in the log of the alleged hacked server, whilst it is possible to spoof an IP address this is not just a case of typing spoof my ip into google. If you use a proxy server based in manchester with an IP of 1.2.3.4 then that is how your connection will show to the device you are connecting to. If you use the one from Russia, 2.3.4.5 then that will show. The majority of proxy servers are not anonymous (they do present some information sometimes your IP address is not removed) When you then use a tool to find the IP address owner the difference will be one is in manchester and one is in russia. So whilst your statement is partially correct you can't make a proxy server appear as if it was from any country in the world, you could however use one from anywhere in the world - which would give you a similar result.
  14. I assume from the text they have an IP address in Manchester. Unless they used an anonymous proxy server then it should be logged somewhere . Getting the logs is the rub. It is apparent that they have the IP, otherwise how can you state it is from Manchester. My guess is it would be a domestic Virgin Media DHCP Address. Can't see why they would redact it though. I have had VM internet for over a year and am still on the same IP address I had when it first got connected.
  15. With regards to the IP address, it is possible for anyone to trace one . As an example of how simple it is: www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk IP address is 89.16.178.90 Which is : Customer dedicated servers Bytemark Computer Consulting Ltd Bytemark Computer Consulting Ltd /19 PA ukukyoryork53.938000-1.125000bytemark computer co...United KingdomGBnot foundnot found54.000000-2.000000Bytemark Computer Co...UNITED KINGDOMUKENGLANDYORK53.957630-1.082710BYTEMARK COMPUTER CO...Geolocation Data Origin AS Data RIR DataASN35425NameBYTEMARK-ASDescriptionBytemark Computer Consulting Ltd# Peers5# IPv4 Origin Ranges6# IPv6 Origin Ranges1RegistrarRIPE-NCCAllocation dateAug 04, 2005Country CodeGB Reverseconsumeraction2.dh.bytemark.co.uk.Reverse-verifiedYesOrigin ASBytemark Computer Co...Country CodeGBCountryUnited KingdomRegionEurope Population59647790Top-level DomainUKIPv4 Ranges5038IPv6 Ranges557CurrencyPound SterlingCurrency CodeGBPIP Range - Start89.16.160.0IP Range - End89.16.191.255RegistrarRIPE-NCCAllocation dateJul 17, 2006 Approximately two minutes I have that information from knowing the name of this website and running one simple command on my PC Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright © 2009 Microsoft Corporation. 17. Hi, I was wondering if anyone had heard of them. I have a flyer, saying they can check my tax for the last four years, and most people benefit from a refund. If I am indeed eligable for a refund they then take £0.39 for every pound collected. So If I go for it and am due say £1000 I get £610 - which granted is £610 I wouldn't have known about. Doe anyone know what they actually check for? Could I do it myself, or is just letting them do the work and getting whatever back good enough? Thanks in advance
  18. All I can say is your husband is lucky. If it were me in this position, the Halifax would be right out of luck - as my wife would have killed me. But good luck in your challenge I had a house repossessed by the then Scabby National back in 1989-90 they came at me again in 1996 after £30k (a Mortgage they gave me for £34k when they sold the house a few years later went for £12k) I offered them £60 a month they agreed stipulating it should be reviewed every 6 months sent me a standing order form for 6 months. The 6 went through and I never heard a thing after that.
  19. I had a small run in with them 12 months ago. Told me it was there policy " to have debts repaid within 2 years" and they would make me bankrupt. And all manner of other threats - doorstep collectors etc.. Panic not and remember they use bully tactics to try and intimidate and scare you.
  20. We get £10 week tax credit but not eligable for anything else. I have done an income & expenditure - and cant see how we manage to be honest. As it is basing it on "beat my debt" and a spreadsheet I found on here without paying a penny debt we are short. Not by much but short none the less The only things we are behind on are cards and catalogues
  21. Hi, I am just after some points of view, We are currently struggling makeing the end of the month meet the money, There are myself & my wife in the house - but we also have 3 "children" living with us. Eldest - 26 (unemployed - made redundant) receives about £120 every two weeks middle -23 employed part time approx £125 week paid monthly youngest 17 at college - we get Child benefit @ £20 per week, but we pay £25 to get him to college Eldest gives us £15 this doesnt cover the cost of food etc.. Youngest gives us nowt - fair enough middle gives us £20 but provides most of her own stuff Can we account for any of the shopping we do to feed eldest, as he is not really earning any money? What are fair rates of board? Cheers 5B
  22. Well almost one year since my Freinds at First Crud wrotte to me. and since my last interaction with Robinson Crusoe, I have heard nothing else. Is there anything I can do about the debt on my file?
  23. Hi, I bought an insurance policy for travel last year. I bought it at the end of May, submitted my card details. I was never charged at the time, and never sent any details of the policy. Closer to the date of travel I chased them, and as I couldn't locate any information relating to the transaction I assumed it had not gone through. I checked with the company, gave them date of travel, but they came back with a policy that had already gone. So I purchased another one to cover the trip. Lo and behold I check my bank and find they have debited my account using the card details I presented in May 2011 on the 5th Jan 2012. I have two issues, First If they make a mistake and dont charge me should they be able to just take money out 9 months later. They must have stored the CVV number to authorise the transaction. Second. As When I checked prior to the holiday I had no policy documents sent to me, and no payment - I assumed that the transaction had not gone through. I then bought a new one. Where do I stand? 5bellies
  24. Ok, Not sure if this is the best option for me, so I am after pointers / advice. I have a joint Mortgage owing £120k house is probably worth 90-95 - all paid up to date @ £1k pm I am not in arrears or behind with any of the normal payment Ctax, gas, electric, water, tv licence. We have Sky, virgin phone, a couple of mobiles on contract I have a car on lease via work, my wife has a 6 yr old corsa (paid for) We have an arrangement to pay £160 for a bunch of things - been paying for 4 years Was orig about £18k (not sure what it is now) I also have catalogues with £3500, and 3 cards with a total of £3250 & a dispute with another with £5200 We have reasonable jobs, that pay £1800 & 800 per month after tax We split the bills between us, I pay Mort,Sky,Virgin,House ins, Car ins, all the cats and cards above On top of that I am spending £70 a week on fuel to get to work My wife takes care of the gas, leccy, ctax, debt thingy, weekly shops On a flat month (no OT) i don't get enough in to cover the bills. So every month is a struggle. I am two weeks of payday, and looking for stuff in the house to sell to make it to work for the next two weeks. I have worked on average 25 days a month to make ends meet, but I am tired of killing my self - and earning the money to not really have enough for a £10 chinese takeaway as a treat one or twice a month. My wifes outgoings are £560 - leaving about £40 for her fuel and the rest for shopping. If I were to look at BR what would happen to the house, would it go, or would the BS owned by the taxpayers let me continue paying and remain in the house? I have to admit that is the only worry I have. Not bothered about losing sky or internet or the phones. Although we don't do much else other than watch TV Is that enough info? Cheers f
  25. I have received a letter from Rob Away - informing me they have closed the file on me and returned it to the round glass balls. I will wait for the next one
