  1. The address is: - Ulster Bank Limited Group Head Office 11-16 Donegall Square East Belfast BT1 5UB Tel: 02890276025
  2. I am about to send off my first letter to the bank, however, I am confused. Can I reclaim the service fees given that banks are now abolishing them on new accounts. Has anyone been repaid these fees.
  3. The bank is Ulster Bank and the statement just reads 'Fee'. The fees are for cheques written, cheques cashed, ATM withdrawls etc. Any help would be appreciated as I am about to put in my claim to the bank. Volkswagen
  4. I have now come to the conclusion that it is best that I take a civil case against the Ulster Bank as it is faster than Financial Ombudsman and you get the interest paid to you whereas with the FOS you do not get the interest paid? Another question I have is this: - I have been charged quiet a lot of service fees in the past for things such as the number of cheques lodged etc. Is this type of fee reclaimable. Volkswagen

  6. markthedrainman, In Northern Ireland the small claims court has a limit of £2,000. My claim is over 7 x more so small claims is out. I would prefer to use the Financial Ombudsman but really want to be paid the full amount because of the past hardship over the amount of money taken from us by the bank. I am still worried that the FOS will not obtain the 100% figure. Also, does anyone know if I can start a court case myself if the FOS have made a judgement which I do not agree with. Volkswagen
  7. half ax I, FOS say - If a bank offers to settle a complaint in full, there is nothing for the ombudsman to decide. We don’t look into cases where a consumer has not suffered a loss – or where reasonable offers have been made. I am still worried because the only reasonable offer that I would be happy with is full settlement because of the amount of money involved (£14k) and the fact that our family went through 6 years of hardship because we were in the clutches of the bank and could not get ourselves out largely because of the fees we were continually being charged. Several times we paid a fee of £700 each time they met us to discuss the fees etc. Volkswagen
  8. Hi all, This is my question also. While the FOS may be getting settlements, can anyone confirm if these settlements are for the costs plus contractural interest? I am about to send off my first letter and would like to know if I should go the FOS or courts route? It would definatly be the courts route if I thought the FOS were only getting costs and not contractural interest repaid. Volkswagen
  9. tafkam, I have a claim with the Ulster Bank and am considering to take it to the Financial Ombudsman instead of through the courts. I do want to receive a settlement which will include interest as the amount of money taken off me over the 6 years amounted to a lot. This meant that I suffered greatly by the banks actions over that period. Was the £1060 the full amount you were reclaiming from the start and had you included any added on interest? Volkswagen
  10. I am about to start with my first letter being sent to the Ulster Bank. The total fees to be reclaimed from them including interest for 3 x accounts is £14,500. I am new to this so in general is it better to go the Financial Ombudsman route with them or threaten to take them to court. I would like to know which carries the most weight? Volkswagen
  11. Margie, Sorry for the late reply. The link I have is as follows: - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-templates-library/ Regards Volkswagen
  12. I am only asking the question rather than making a statement. I have read where someone did received a settlement for 5 x their origional claim at the point of settlement. The bank in this case had pushed it to the court date before asking for settlement and I see my case going the same way? Volkswagen
  13. I have three accounts with Ulster Bank to which they owe me a total of £13,945.00 in unfair charges. I am about to send them my first letter and I am going to fight them the whole way. My intention also is to settle for nothing less than a multiple of the initial amount (between 4 -6 times) if they decide they are going to push me the whole way. 1. Has anyone charged them a multiple of the amount of claim to settle when the bank pushed it the whole way? 2. I also have 2 accounts in Ulster Bank, Monaghan, Southern Ireland and again there are massive charges that I want to reclaim. Has anyone any knowledge of the banks in Southern Ireland having to repay their fees. Volkswagen
  14. I have an account with Ulster Bank in the Republic Of Ireland and I feel that I have a lot of very unfair bank charges. Can I make a claim and are there speadsheets for calculating the claim. Would love to hear from someone who is already making a claim or who has successfully made a claim. Many thanks, Volkswagen
  15. Mindzai your spreadsheet is the best on the internet as far as I am concerned. Please take time everyone to understand and use it correctly and it will do everything for you. Also check the figures on each page as they should all correspond before the simple or compound interest is added. This is a way of making sure that all the pages are totalling their columns correctly (particularly important if you have added or removed lines on the spreadsheets). Download v1.9 My claim against the Ulster Bank is totalling over £12,000 when compound interest is added. I am about to send my first letter and will let everyone know how I get on. Volkswagen.
  16. E.g. My bank balance is -£8,100. My overdraft permission is £8,000. 1. Can a bank charge these extortinate interest charges for going £100 over my overdraft limit. 2. Also, does anyone know if the 25% is for the amount over the limit (£100) or is it applied to the full overdraft amount (-£8,100) when I go outside my permission limit. 3. If I can claim these charges back is a there a template for doing this anywhere. Valkswagen
  17. Hello everyone , I would like to know, can I make a claim for the added interest the bank has charged to me when I have gone over my my agreed overdarft limit. If the answer to the above is 'Yes' I would also like to know how this added interest can be calculated? Volkswagen
