  1. I won! Got the full amount off Natwest. My claim was £388 and with interest it would of been £416.41.I went on MCOL and paid £50 to start court procedings and they had till July 9th to defend it. I got a letter today saying that the admit no wrong doing but they feel that it would cost too much for such a small claim so they will settle. Included with the letter was a cheque for £466.41. They paid up the interest and my £50 for the court. Nice one!!!!

  3. Hi all, Ive just hada cheque from Natwest for £466.Yipppeeee. But how do I inform the court that i now want to stop proceedings.Ive been onto MCOL and my claim is there but what do I click on to say ive settled?? Any help would be much appreciated. CB
  4. It wont help being young. I have used my sisters address in the past as the quote was much cheaper there. Theres a tip for you. The insurance company i use is XXXX. They seem the cheapest.
  5. Just a quick one. I had sent 2 LBA letters to Natwest about my current account charges. Today was the 14th day and I got a letter from their main office saying that they have received my leter and they will investigate the charges to my account. This may take 6-8 weeks. What i need to know is, should I proceed with court now or should I write to them again and give them 14 days again to refund me? bearing in mind I have had to send 2 LBA letters to be acknowledged! CB
  6. Ive just taken Natwest Visa to court using MCOL.It cost me £50 but you win that back. They have until 9th july to put in a defence. It is so easy to use on MCOL and they do all the work for you. Just put in the details and a brief description of your claim. As Ive been told on this site, never give up.They owe you YOUR money back. Its never too late.I always use the interest calculator on Compare Loans, Mortgages (including remortgages), Credit Cards and Insurance products from Moneyexpert.com and keep a copy for yourself. Send them a copy and tell them that that is the interest you will claim for if it goes to court. If you are going to court, keep a copy and put down the total amount of your claim when you go onto MCOL. Hope this has helped...... and good luck.Remember this is the best place to goto for help.
  7. I used MCOL yesterday. Hope it gets sorted as Im so peeved off with Natwest. Goldfish payed up in full when I didnt accept their offer. Will be on when I receive stuff from the courts. Cheers matey
  8. HI, I requested my visa card statments off Barclays and received from June 2004 to may 2007. In the letter I received it said that the rest of my details are on micro fiche (may of put that wrong)and would take upto 6 weeks to be sent to me. Is this true or can I send them a letter to say that I require it within the 40 day limit?? CB
  9. Do I have to send Natwest anything to say I have now started court proccedings??
  10. Ive had 2 letters back from Natwest offering me £63 instead of the £388. I am now going to start the court proceddings off. Is this right? Im going to do it through moneyonline and start it off. The letter I had said that it was clear in the terms & conditions that I would be charged when I opened the account. I had replied with a letter saying that I agreed to pay the charge as it was to cover your costs. As the cost is £2 I would like to know where the other £10 goes. I received a letter today with the same offer and saying that they are in the right. So Its court time. I want to get the interest off them aswell now. Am I doing it right???
  11. Yep, sent the LBA to Natwest for my refund of Visa money and now Im doing a LBA to them over my Advantage Gold current account. My charges come to £3393 and £3755 with interest. Im sending the sheet with my charges on and interest to give them the option to pay me now or risk over £300 interest on top. Fingers crossed!!!
  12. Thanks guys. Stupid me....I found the list of charges when I cleaned up my kitchen. My girlfriend had put it there and stuff got put on top. Anyway, my charges come to £388 but Im going to try and get the interest aswell. I used the interest calculator on moneysavingexpert. This gives me a total of £416.41. This is for my credit card. Doing my request for bank account statments now.
  13. Im still waiting for my money! I phoned today and was told that due to the huge amount of charges being refunded, a big batch of cheques will be sent out when they get them back. I owed £26.99 on the account which a guy called Alan wrote off for me free of charge.Nice one.
  14. I got the letters etc off them. I got the letter saying they will refund the £875. Im still wating for a cheque off them. The account was closed but I owed £25. When I called them today, the account is now 0 and closed. But she says on her screen there is no copy of the letter of acceptance I returned to them nearly 2 weeks ago. I have said to her that my account has been paid off with part of my £875, so wheres the rest. She is going to make some phone calls for me. On her screen, she said that a letter for the refund of £875 was sent out to me. They are waiting for a response!! I said I sent it over a week ago, recorded delivery. She couldnt explain how my account was now paid up when Ive made no payments! I said I need an answer by tuesday! Keep you posted.....
  15. Hi all, Ive written to Natwest twice now requesting my credit card charges. Ive heard nothing again. Can I send them a LBA requesting what I consider my chrges are and its upto them then to reply agreeing or disagreeing with my total? I think its only around £200 but Im so pi&&ed off that they havent replied to me. CB
  16. Yeh I know its her debt but if the debt is made of unlawful charges then surely the debt cant be enforced. If it could then it'd mean the banks took her money and gave HER money back but she must pay a debt company off that really the banks owe money to for selling on a false debt! Confused haha
  17. Should I include in my letter for charges that the amount be deducted from the debt? BEaring in mind that she has been paying a small amount to the debt company for ages, the debt may well be finished after the deduction.
  18. Im in the process of getting bank charges returned to my girlfriend for old accounts. But the debts she had were sold to debt companies. 90% of that debt was charges. This made the debt around £2000 for each account. When I get the chrges refunded, what happens to the debt with the debt company? Do we have to legally pay them the debt or can we stop the debt? CB
  19. Hi all, Im, writing on behalf of my girlfriend. She got into debt with Barclaycard and Firstplus. They were both around £2000 and the banks passed this debt onto a debt collecting company.Think its Wescott. She has informed me that most of this £2000 debt for each was charges. She has been paying £20 a month back to the debt company for both debts for over 18 months now. I am in the process of writing to Barclays and Firstplus to start the ball rolling in getting the charges back etc. But what happens to the debt with the debt company?? Would she still have to pay the debt company after she gets the charges refunded? I asume she would have to take away the chrges to what she spent on the card and offer that to them? ANy help PLLLLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSEEEEE would be great... CB
  20. The address is on your statments I think. Its Goldfish, PO Box something, Glasgow. I sent it to customer services. Ive noticed that a lot of these card companies have 2 0r 3 addresses to send correspondance. Ive just sent off to Barclaycard and Natwest Visa again! Anyone got the correct adresses Im to send to for them. The Natwest one I sent it to there registered address as customer services said they never got it. Even though it was recorded delivery!
  21. I sent Goldfish a request for statments and they took 38 days to send them. They had totalled all my charges for me and it came to £875. They said that as a goodwill jesture they will refund me £299. I sent them a Letter Before Action letter saying no, I wanted the full amount and they had 14 days. ON the 14th day, today,I got a letter saying they admit no wrong doings but as a goodwill jesture, they will refund me the £875. I WIN, THEY LOSE!! This site has helped me alot.
