  1. I have a few debts which I have listed below that I currently pay a debt management agency to pay because the debt collectors weren't listening to me. Kept demanding payments...I couldn't afford. I thought it makes it easier if I got someone else to arrange payments. I pay £155 to the management agency and they forward it on. TESCO CREDIT CARD - £1700 I've been paying them since september but they only started crediting my account in February! TESCO LOAN - £1500 NEXT DIRECTORY - £250 STUDIO CARDS - £385 GE CAPITAL (BURTON STORE CARD) - £853 - I don't think they froze the interest because it seems to be alot more than I remember owing! HALIFAX - £1620 PLUS MY HUSBANDS TWO METROPOLITAN COLLECTION SERVICES - £1742 - Finally agreed to the monthly payment of £28 a month instead of £50 HSBC OVERDRAFT - £75 but I think its been paid off now but need my husband to check. Thanks Gemma
  2. I was just wondering really. As I've had a few problems with money the last year and been chased by about 8 different debt collectors. I eventually contacted a debt management agency and have been paying monthly payments since last september. All was going well and I hadn't heard anything, then out of the blue I get letters saying that two of them aren't happy with the payments we've offered. So I contacted the management company and told them to increase it to what they wanted. Which was by about £2. They went off happy and its been agreed it but now another company has decided not to except it and wants more. I thought the reason I was paying the management company was so they would deal with my creditors on my behalf because now it seems I'm the one actually dealing with them! Another problem I have is TESCO. I have a credit card with them...which I've been paying £26 a month off since September and they recently wrote to me and said that they agreed to the new terms but they are charging me £25 a month interest. Is that right? Because I thought all interest was paused? Thanks Gem x
  3. Hi, there. I have to say that I was stupid to. I was so organised at one point that all my debts were 100% in my control. I'd even cleared some of my credit cards only to make it ten times worse later on. I started ignoring letters when I realised that I just couldn't keep up with all their minimum payments. So I dug my head in the sand and prayed it would just go away. We were getting about four phone calls a day and it was really embarrassing when visitors came over and we just sat there ignoring it but last year I was taken to court by Abbey national and decided after speaking to an advisor that if I didn't sort it out soon I would lose everything so I found a debt management agency (after being rejected for loans) and they have helped amazingly but creditors still aren't happy and I'm still being chased a year on by a few. My problem is that I pay the management company £30 a month to deal with our creditors and still I'm the one dealing with it. The letters have stopped but I still get phone calls which I can never answer because I'm at work and thats when they ring (doh). My advise is: you unfortunately can't bury you're head in the sand forever because a giant bug will more than certainly come and bite you hard on the arse (haha). Abbey took me to court with only three missed payments. You probably need to seek some sort of financial advice. I do feel a lot happier and more in control but its the last two creditors that are dragging behind that are doing my head in! The won't except our offer of a monthly payment even though its only about £2 down on what I was paying originally. I'm only 24 so I've learnt some hard lessons that I never want to repeat. If I don't have the money...I will defiantly not be spending it! Gemma
