Hello everyone I am in the process of claiming back charges from the Halifax. I sent a letter requesting the statements, included myy £10 cheque which was cashed immediately. They took FOREVER to send the statements, so we decided to send the first letter for the amount of charges that we already knew about as we didn't think there was much more before that anyway. So the first letter went 7 March - we had a reply saying sorry for your complaint, it will be looked into. The 2nd letter went 17 March - so we didn't quite leave the 14 days - will that matter? We issued proceedings on 27 March, again 10 days from the 2nd letter. I work in a legal firm and our LBA's are always 7 days. So anyway, we issued using MCOL, and have had an acknowledgement of service where they have said they intend to defend the whole claim. Why do they defend some and pay up on others? I'm panicking now that its because we didn't allow 14 days, only 10 - will this go against us? :-|
