  2. £1833 deposited into my account today. Thanks H.
  3. That's very true. Thought I'd seen the last of those charges. Was a difficult decision. the extra £900 through going to court would have been spending money, but I went the sensible route and getting the bills paid is what needs doing. How long have you been waiting for yours?
  4. Well my total asked for amount was £2300, but the charges only amounted to £1833. I think what really spurred me on to settle was seeing how some people have had such a hard time and been really messed about. 40 days for statements, no offers, HAVING to file in court, waiting for a hearing date etc. And still not having any of their charges back as yet. This was offered to me so easily, that it seems rather reckless and a little greedy to press on for more, when this amount will help me immensely. Thanks for all the help and support. Special thanks to Seaside Lady, Jowalshy and Alanfromderby I will be donating as soon as funds clear!
  5. I caved. Full charges £1833 accepted. I really didn't want to, but it seemed the sensible thing to do. Although I could certainly use the extra that taking it to court would have given me, I needed this amount more, as it will clear my debts now and I can stop stressing about them. All kinds of silly thoughts went through my head. What if this takes 3 months to run and in the meantime they find 'THE' loophole they're looking for. What if the OFT ruling states all charges above £12 have to be paid back. Silly I know, but I couldn't afford to risk losing the £1800. It was the right decision. For me.
  6. Bit of advice needed. I'm claiming £1833 total charges and £487.22 overdraft interest. Once a court claim is submitted it'd be a further £315. They're tellimg me that at this stage, until a court claim is submitted, that can only offer me the total charges (£1833) and I would need to file to get anything else. Does this sound right, or has anyone heard of overdraft interest being refunded before court stages?
  7. Monday morning. 09:00. Here we go again.
  8. Hi Mackem Yeah in that case it's just charges for you. I wasn't going to bother with the overdraft interest...until I added it up and seen how much it was! Almost wish I hadn't now cause I would have been VERY happy with the £1800 offer. Oh well.
  9. No, only £100 of it was interest free. The other £1400 of it I was being charged for.
  10. Yes it has! Now I'm beginning to doubt myself! I just used the complex spreadsheet. Put in the date of the charge, the interest free overdraft amount, and it did the rest for me. Was that not right??
  11. I would if I were you. Makes a real difference!
  12. Yes, that's what it is. £1841 penalties. And £497.22 interest charged on penalties. Totals £2328. If I add on the 8% I get £2758. So as far as I'm aware, I can claim the £2328 before court stages. Was SORELY tempted by the offer of £1800 at 6pm tonight after hanging on the phone all day.....but I resisted.
  13. No, it's not the 8% interest I'm claiming now, it's the interest on overdraft fees. Can claim that from the very beginning as far as I'm aware.
  14. I'm being led a merry dance I think. The number I've been trying ALL day has been engaged ALL day. As it still is at 18:35. The other customer relations managers numbers on here ring out unanswered, as they would at 18:35.
  15. Very very very frustrating. I have been trying to contact Olga Newman who is dealing with my claim since 9am this morning. I've spoken to 6 other Halifax employees who have also been trying to contact her or one of her team on my behalf. They have emailed her twice, put numerous notes on my account, and all to no avail. I just spoke to a very nice lady who said she could up my offer of £1609.00 to £1841.00. Which is my total charges (£2328.32) without the interest I'm claiming. She said she doesn't have the authority to do anymore, but she is allowed to offer up to the total charge amount. So for anybody not claiming interest, they ARE allowed to do it over the phone. I said no to this, so am awaiting a call from one of Olga's team. I will give them until Monday evening, and if I've had no joy I'll file then. For £2758 total. Or maybe I should just file now anyway.
