  1. Thanks for the reply. To be honest I expected as much. A big clue was the fact they put no timescale in the letter. ho hum. Cheers
  2. Hello, As I'm sure most of you are aware Abbeys system is down at the moment and try as I might, 6 calls throughout the day, I obviously can't get my account details. Soooo....does anybody know how long Abbey usually take to credit your reclaimed bank charges back into your account? The reason I ask is that I am wanting to get something from a certain auction site and it ends in 2 hours (As I said I'm impatient, but it is a one of a kind item) but I have not recieved the funds to pay for it yet. I don't want to pay for something with money I won't recieve for a week or two but I would be gutted if I miss out and it's credited to my account in the next few days. My letter of full settlement was dated 03/05/07 so I assumed it might have been in by now but no luck If somebody can help, in the next two hours, I would be very grateful. Thanks:)
  3. Yeah I'm more than happy to make a donation and I'll have a look at the survey too. Thanks for the heads up.
  4. Hi there, I have been lurking these forums throughout my "ordeal" with Abbey and well today I got a very nice letter through the post. They have agreed to settle in full around 2-3 weeks before my directions hearing at the courts! Believe me, I am in shock too! So that's £2300 that I never thought I would see again. If it was not for this forum I may have taken the offer of half of the money as full payment but you guys gave me the bottle to soldier on. So, what did I do? I'm not too sure really. I sent off the template letters as per usual and started the money claim jobby as instructed etc. When they put forward a defence things began to get hairy and I turned to this forum for help. I wrote a letter to Abbey when I got my AQ and their first offer through saying that I would delay in my submitting the AQ in order for them to make me a better offer. I heard nothing back and so I called them to be told no further offer had been made. I then filled in my AQ and submitted it along with a proposal of directions for the judge to take and a covering letter explaining why I feel these directions would bring the case to a close before the court date. Both of these were templates from this site. I always read that reclaiming bank charges was like fighting a war of atrition with Abbey so you can imagine my amazement when they offered a full refund weeks before the hearing. Anyway, this is just to say thanks to all of you who have contributed to this forum and hopefully my story in turn may bring a little hope to some of you. Thanks again Simon.
