  1. I had Halifax BSO rear there ugly head last week. Sent a letter to my works addressed to Happyhippy Staff... Plonkers. They are getting big time. Complaint in with OFT AND THEM MUPPETS.
  2. Johnny,, Listen good now. You have had some great cagers on here and they know what they are on about. So Chill out!!!!!!! Let's take a deep breath,, aghhhhh that's better,,, even better with the funny wacky backkey, never mind here goes. 1. Up to you whether you cancel the visit from Greenwoods. If he come's explain as you have been told on here that you are reviewing your financial situation and will expect to give them an answer in xxx weeks or days whatever. But add the proviso that's it's not looking too good and you may be looking at token payments of £xx.xxx also that you are visiting one of the debt charity's shortly. Now what can he do.... NOTHING absolutely nothing. I am of the camp that feels politeness is costing me nothing. But up to you. Even if he kicks off at your door you can politely hand him the letter of tort trespass. End of that scenario. Now thanks to these good people on here I expected to be in court four years ago and bankrupt without a roof over my head. I have at the last count £41,000 of unsecured debt, own my own home which is in a neg equity situation. My priorities thanks to people like Bazooka and Rockwell and formister is to pay your priority debts first and then see what's left. In my case nothing. Have to travel to work on a push bike or bus now to get the £1.00 token payments. All my creditiors are at present happy as I have nothing to hide and they do a review either every six or twelve months. The worst part for me was at the start.....the threats the demands the God know's what else. Until a kind colleague at my hospital told me about this site. It was the best move I did. I now sleep easy and have been for three and a half years. I have paid off completely 3 small debts and am about to bring down another. Because if I have any spare cash after my living expenses it goes on the one's with the high interest. Not fair on the others I know. But hey, Yes some clown might come out of the woodwork and take me to court. I will come to that bridge when it arrives. Or try and make me BR. Again, so what... Save's me £600. But as a lot of my CC are pre 94 or pre 2000 I see a little problem arising. I would straight away pop my court summons on line here and then proceed to ask for the relevant paper work. I am trying to assure you that you are in control. To put it in to perspective, YOU OWE THEM. I have just been conned out of £250 for a phone, which looks like it was stolen or lost. Sold by a work colleague mind you. Now I am trying to get my money back and it is damn difficult. Your the one or a court that dictates what you pay. Now chill and let us know how it went with Greenwoods.
  3. Oh Bazooka hit em when there down... I like it.
  4. Go and enjoy a cup of tea or stronger. As Bazooka say's the Zoo's have not had any escaped primate's reported so it is very unlikely they will turn up. As for provident, I have numerous friends who have had a loan off these sharks and guess what,,, they never ever paid them back after working out the interest. And guess what... never ever went to court.... So rest easy. Offer Moorcrap a £10.00 full and final and then ignore. Some cheek Great reply letter on the I&E request Bazooka, going to use that one
  5. Good advice from Bazooka and harrassed manwest. Just let the suckers go and stew. If all the people moorcrap sent letters to just did nothing they would not last too long. Who do these cretins think they are..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DCA's gone are the day's now when people tremble these sites give us the power... Better than Luke Skywalker's force Great budgie cage linings though!!!!
  6. yes will check it out. Will make a decision shortly as to Bankruptcy it's looking the best option at the moment. Need to get a value on the house and go from there. Should either break even or a slight shortfall. Am going to chat with Girlfriend when she returns off hols next Monday. Will try and keep the house but hey ho I can't go on like this anymore.... As I said, it's not if I'm a spring chicken, 52, want to really make a clean start for the remaining. Won't be buying a house, don't want credit ever again so hey ho...
  7. I doubt it dadofholly, probably do it for a living.... As Jasper say's think of the stress and worry the buyers had.!!!!! Experience myself of these Shi*sters and of being ripped off by so called colleagues and friends. Might slap a CCJ on a working colleague for £250.00. Unless she come's up with my money back. Dodgy iphone, should have gone with the old adage if it's to good to be true it probably is.!!!!!!!! buyer beware
  8. I think you have missed an awful lot out of your expenditure, what about house insurance, travel expenses, children's clothes, school meals, tv licence seems wrong... need more on that.... what about prescriptions Sit down and think long and hard about your expenses......
  9. Johnny,,, don't stress now. Let them demand what they want, it's what they get that counts. Just watch Mr Carter, he's one for the Wall when the revolution comes. Any malarkey from him post up for the guy's and girls to advise... Offer what you can not what they want.
  10. Any idea's welcome..... earn under the tax allowance that's another lot saved...
  11. oh shucks tifo..... Oh well do me own me thinks..... have already got rid of car and motorbike no more expensive duty to pay this governments coffers with..... Fag's gone a long time ago.... now what other way's can I beat this greedy government and those nasty big money grabbing corporations... ah yes out with the TV there's a licence fee gone and the cost of digital.... it get's better..... and better...... hmmmmmm I think I am going to rename my self Citizen Hippy power to the people those old enough to remember Robert Lindsey in Citizen Smith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. What I thought. It would help me to get straight as I was just telephoned in October by ex to say she had left the house and it was all mine. hmmmmmm Will phone them near the end of the month tell them I can't pay March's mortgage SL and offer to catch up on it at £50.00 each As you said what can they do short of charges and trying for a repo.
  13. Not a chance,,,, to cosy with our politicians who are two busy crying over there stopped gravy train of expenses and second home or no home fiddles on the expenses.
  14. Yes good point Crok CHANGE YOUR PHONE NUMBER I HAD CALLS EVERY 5 MINUTES ON MY UNSECURED DEBT.
  15. Thanks for quick reply,,,, that is just what I wanted to hear. Don't know if I would want to keep the house anyway,,,, its taking up 68.23% of my take home income. Just a quickly here, I really need to get straight on things like council tax etc. What if I missed one payment to the Mortgage company and First-plus do you think they would hit me with the big stick of repossession.?????? Would pay the arrears off at a rate I could afford. Really need to get me hands on a bit of cash.... I know it's naughty but I am really struggling this month, did not even pay me Council tax. Also could use this as a bluff to get ex to donate a bit of cash towards the SL....
  16. Rock, like your letter I am going to use that from now on. Back to serious, Fred, tell em to take a running jump. As for we can contact by phone if you miss a payment is absolute bull cr*p just stick to your guns. These muppet's backed off straight away from me and a £1.00 is all there going to get until I decide in me own time when I can go BR. They did that stunt with me about the phone, guess what, just got another mobile, had the house phone disconnected then phoned them from an office phone which is caller withheld and told them if you wish to contact me by any other means than letter, you will need to brush up on your telepathy as NO PHONE ANY MORE. That stumped em good and proper.
  17. excellent post Jasper I cannot agree more.
  18. It just goes to show the state of this once fine country the greed and more greed and yet even more greed.. The apocalypse of financial Armageddon is coming. As with these horrid nasty firms like the above mentioned rooftops and picture and firstplus they will reap what they have sowed. Interest rates at there lowest yet as many have said 9% - 13% rates charged to loyal customers. Then greedy charges placed on the consumer if they get into trouble. Job losses this year will double and they will see the once tame British people of all walks of life saying enough is enough.... come reposes me you have snouted the trough dry..... The government need to take note, the public are not a golden calf they can bleed dry.... Fuel, council tax and utilities going through the roof..... I wait with baited breath for the revolution that is coming.
  19. I know this is the new's you are not wanting to hear. I am on the other side of this case, my ex-wife of 20 years plus left me and went into rented accommodation. I have a mortgage and SL on the house costing £928.00 a month. On a take home salary of £1360 it does not take a mathematical genius to work out I am struggling. Also have £40k of unsecured debt. Have never missed a payment on mortgage or SL but I believe the time is coming for me to get the hell out. I have warned ex to help towards these costs but as you would expect I got a Foxtrot Oscar. She has taken a promotion at work and new company car and also still claiming child tax credits she is rolling in it. She always turned down promotion when we were married. So its now going to be a stop paying and let them reposes me. Then its BR with the mortgage payments I have saved and new life to start. At 52 time is running out. She will be liable for all the debt, especially if her former partner has gone bankrupt. Whether she pays half or 10% of it she is still liable for 100% as in law they cannot chase him once he is Bankrupt. The only light at the end of the tunnel is that she gets in there first and do unto others as they would do to you. i.e. she stops paying and gives the company his address. messy I know. but !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when you sign the dotted line that's it. Had the same when I was in a business partnership had to pay my partners tax.... !!! unfair but that's the law.
  20. I think it very unlikely the OR would make a claim against this persons house. But check with more knowledgeable people first. Doe's he pay the mortgage out of his account??????
  21. Have to agree with you there liquid, I am seriously planning that route myself. I think this would give me a complete clean start. Marriage over. 40k unsecured debt I can't pay. House and Secured Loan left for me to pay by ex. hmmmmmmm it is so tempting to just stop the mortgage and SL payments. Girlfriend wants me to go back living with her so who knows... It's just the thought of my twenty plus years in this house with my memories of my kids etc. though now they are teenage brat's who never even ring to ask how I am.... oh decisions decisions..... How long I wonder would it take for them to reposes the house???? Girlfriend back form Auz on Saturday,,, serious talk me thinks.... Nearly everyone who has gone BR says after that it is the best thing they ever did. I am 52 in a job where BR does not matter. I just don't want my girlfriend being penalised for me living there. I know insurance and things like that can be tricky. Will keep you posted as to my decision.
  22. just following this with some interest. At a point now where I may let my house go. Marriage gone after 20+ years wife and kids gone to rented accommodation. I owe £40,000 unsecured and am paying off at token rate of £1.00 per month. (10 creditors 16 accounts) I am up to date and have never missed a mortgage payment or Secured loan payment. Either slightly in neg equity or a little surplus £600 if sold. My dilemma is this. If I hang on in here and a creditor decides to make me BR I will have the house problem left i..e if it is sold or reposed after BR will any amount owing probably to SL creditor be chased or will it be included in BR. Sequenci you seem to say as long as I don't sign anything it would drop into the BR pot. hmmmm is this correct. I am just getting my strategy together as I don't want to be left with a debt after BR, I think once is enough. The original lender will have no problem only owe them £73,000 it's the First Plus Muppets I am worried about. I know ex is hopping up and down because the house is joint and she will be the one they come after. Sweet revenge for all the Cr*p she has caused me. So in a nutshell, if I am unfortunate to be made BR and am still paying for house I would could stop paying mortgage and SL immediately and then wait for repossession and count any shortfall into BR.
