  1. Hi All Sorry for sounding thick - but out of practice on this not been on this site since claimed back bank charges last year. Was told yesterday by Finance advisor that the payment protection on a secured loan i have is in his words "scandalous" And after having a quick read through this link I tend to agree with him. One of the examples in this link says about a £9000 payemnt protection fee on a £62000 loan being 15%. I took a loan out around 5 years ago for £32000 and the payment protection insurance is over £8000 (ie.. nearly 30%) My problem is I have no idea if this was mentioned or not when i was sold it. So two questions if anyone can help. Firstly do I have to prove that I was sold it incorrectly?? And secondly no matter how I was sold it should I still have a claim because of the extortionate amount?? Please let me know your thoughts - this website was a massive help last year. Regards Drew

  3. Hi all Sorry to chase but does anyone have an answer to this - Not too sure about anything with Lloyds Cheers Drew
  4. Sorry for the delay in congratulating you But CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! Big Time!!!!!! I know it has been said numerous times by everyone else but your thread has been fantastic to read daily and to help keep us all going!!! Major well done Fends (or should we say Wends now:) ) I am going to start some other claims on some credit cards and sucvh so hopefully you will still be around on some of the other threads. Drew
  5. Hi all I have just completed a successful claim against Nat West and am now about to start one for a friend of mine against Lloyds. He has just received details of all his charges back and the question I have is the main charge on his account is for £4 per month up to Audust 2002 then this raises to £5 per month after that and then stops completley in November2004. Is this a charge for a specific account (i had something similar with Nat west which was an Advantage Gold account) Does this sound like something like that and if so I assume that you can't claim these amounts back?? Any ideas anyone?? Cheers Drew
  6. Sorry to jump in with silly question time!!!! I am now starting a claim for a friend and although I sent my original SAR to my local branch (and received all my statements from them) Is this still the best place to send this or should I use the Borehamwood address???? Cheers Drew
  7. I can now finally uncross my fingers!!!! Money went into Bank yesterday!!!! Hurray Yet again another massive thanks to everyone who has helped me out with either info or just encouragement!!!! 2 questions still need answering though....... .....How do I make a donation to CAG????? .....Can someone move my thread to the Nat west successes one please!!!! Thanks again All Drew:D
  8. And there was me thinking that that was Parkys full wallet he is carrying in his picture!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Hi I was in similar postiion they told me that they would send a letter out to me by the 24th of april has they where targeting an 8 week turn round. I was very unsure as whether they would do this or if it was another stalling tactic. I received the letter with full offer yesterday (3 days early for them) So in my experience I would say yes you can trust them but also keep listening to all the advice on here of making sure you are ready to continue with your claim to the courts if the do not reply. Drew
  10. Fendy - it is all of them things and more!!!! Its the chat and banter about the ridiculous things in life that have made it so addictive!!! As well as the all round support that you give to everyone!!! The good thing was that I would always be logging on to your thread to see what was happening with you all and what ridiculous topics you where all on about (Wine, Wine and curry most of the time:-)) But because i was constantly logging on to CAG to check that out it meant that I was always up to date and pushing my claim along!!!! Now and I think i will speak for lots and lots of other CAG people the second most important thing after winning your own calim is seeing FENDYWEATHER win hers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep going with the claim but the banter is more important and I am sure it is making you some good new friends along the way.
  11. Cheers all - (IF) When it does come through I will be sure to send a donation on to CAG!! Also think I will have to keep on reading some of the other threads to see how everyone else is getting on. Some of them have become quite addictive - Especially the now world famous Fendy thread!!!!!! Drew
  12. Letter from nat west was there when got home last night offering full amount!!!!!! Have signed it and sent it back recorded deliv last night. So fingers crossed money will get credited into account in 7-10 days!!!!! Hopefully!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Update!!! I have just got off the phone to Nat West (after being on hold for what seemed like forever!!) Was told that a letter had been sent out to me on Friday offering the full amount of £6145 and once I receive it if i fill it in and return it the money will be put into my account between 7-10 days!! Should I start getting my hopes up?? Once they have made an offer are people getting the money as told above?? Am trying not to think I have got it yet until its there but surely if they send an offer in writing then they should pay up (surely!!)
  14. Hi all. Two things - firstly I have still had absolutely nothing off Nast West back. Apart from my initial statements - Sent prelim 3 month ago and LBA 7 weeks ago and had zilch in response. I have spoken to them on the phone and have been told that because of backlog and how busy they are it could tak up to 8 weeks to respond. I know I should have stuck with timetable on here but being a little bit nieve i decided to give them benefit of doubt before I started proceedings - The 8 weeks are alomost up and still not heard a thing - been trying to ring them up again on the borehamwood number but either someone just cuts it off or there is some fault on it so will try again later on customer services number. What do i need to do to get them to respond or is it pretty standard that they don't (i honestly thought i would have had at least a bog off letter or something by now. And secondly does anyone know of any body who has had a success since the lloyds judgement last week. Been looking at the success forum and nothing new seems to be coming up!!!!! Drew
  15. Hi Mortee I am in same position rang them yesterday and was told they have until 24th to reply to me - so me thinking that it simply aint going to arrive. So even though have given them benefit of doubt and waited because they where sooooo busy!!!!! Looks like I should have listened to everyone at CAG and stuck with my own timetable. Also have you read the thread " Judges getting fed up *all read* " it looks like this timewasting is going to get the banks in further s***e (hopefully) Drew
