Just a quick update - LBA to be sent on Monday recorded delivery. Also, does anyone know anything about the spreadsheet templates links in the library not working? YBC
-
Hi everyone I've completed writing the LBA and will post recorded on Monday. Still no reply from MBNA at all. So far I've completed a schedule with 8% stat interest. I wanted to download the spreadsheet in the library section for contractual interest but the link is not working. I've also tried using Vampiress' spreadsheet but get error messages. Have I missed something obvious? YBC PS Thanks empowered

Hi all MBNA forum! To update - having posted prelim on 3/4/07 I am now preparing LBA. I have not received any reply at all - maybe the strain is showing. I do have a question - I was just going through my schedule and found one more charge from months ago. If I have left it off of the first schedule I sent with the prelim will it prejudice my case if I now add it on to the next one I send with LBA? I know... should have checked over and again. Any help muchly appreciated YBC

Thanks for your response oneofakind, This is a question for those who have had successful claims. Was your account closed by Barclays after your claim - or did they still want your custom? I'm looking around at other accounts but to be honest I might stay with Barclays - better the devil you know! BTW, I'm not jinxing my claim - I know I've still got a way to go yet! YBC

dar3n v Barclays**WON**
yorkiebarcode replied to dar£n's topic in Barclays, BCard and Woolwich successes
Just so you know Dar3n, Virgin One Account is a RBOS product really, operated by Virgin. The customer service team are really nice - I used to work for them! (before I ever had to think about bank charges). YBC -

Hi all I've sent a SAR to Barclaycard by recorded delivery (first clas) on 3rd April, but this is still not showing as delivered. The address I sent to was a PO Box, one I got from a statement for customer services. I getting annoyed because my 40 day countdown doesn't begin until they receive the letter. Any similar experiences? Is there a non-PO Box address I should have sent to? Any thoughts much appreciated. Thanks YBC

Having taken a break, to prepare for interview for a new job, I'm now back on MBNA's case. Sent prelim which was received 5/4/07. The countdown begins... YBC

After a bit of a break, in which I got myself a new job:D I'm now back at it. Have sent the prelim letter to Barclays, claiming just over 2,500. Arrived with them on 4/4/07 - the clock is now ticking... BTW, has anybody ever wondered how many bank staff read these noticeboards every day? YBC

Hi all I'm just about to put my prelim letter and just had a thought - can MBNA demand the account closed and money repaid straight away. I'm worried that they could. The amount I'm claiming is under £500, and will only put a dent in the balance. Any comments much appreciated! YBC

No worries ladies - all good fun Back to more serious matters - should I send the prelim to their registered office? Should it be FAO any particular dept? Ta YBC "The Yorkiebars are on me"

Hi Mum! That's one of the good things about this site - that you can go through the process together and not feel completely dwarfed by a corporation. We'll crack em together! Good luck YBC

Thanks Corn and ladybird My user ID just came in a moment of inspiration - apart from the fact that I'm 4'2", blond and dressed in a cowboy outfit! I'm now sorting out the preliminary approach letter to go out on Monday. Wish me luck YBC

Thanks for your support knelly I've calculated the amount as over £2,500 which I'm staggered at. I'm now sending the preliminary approach letter. I'm not going to be seeking money back on interest from being over my overdraft limit - that calculation seems extremely daunting. Therefore I've edited the letter accordingly. Wish me luck! YBC:grin:

Hi all Can anybody confirm that if I hold a Virgin Credit Card, my claim will be against MBNA and all correspondance will be with them. Thanks YBC

Thanks guys. Have started a thread in Barclays. -
I've received statements today having requested by phone on 24/2/07. I was orginally told this would take 5-10 days. Having waited three weeks, I rang and complained - I was put through to Customer Relations who asked me to wait a few more days. Rang again on Friday to say no show and the agent promised me she would print out the relevant docs herself. They arrived today - along with my original request! I'm now calculating the amount owed. Hi all I'd like to say that this is an inspiring site! Have just received 6 years worth of statements from Barclays and am now calculating how much charges will be - I think at this stage about £2500-3000. Will also be asking Barclaycard for 6 years statements. I've got a couple of questions - can we still claim for charges on credit cards if they are after the OFT ruling of last year? (ie £12) Also - my partner has told me that she heard that there's another OFT ruling coming up that will state that £12 is a fair charge for banks. Will this mean that we will only be able to claim two-thirds of charges? YBC
