  1. Hello, just an update - just received a letter from Wescot saying that they cannot provide the original CCA so have passed it back to the original firm who say i have the debt - any idea what I should do now?
  2. Am also liking the website they have with the rather cheery looking "collections" operatives they have with natty little slogans like 'ethical' on.....(how ironic)
  3. Dagnammit!! Will do, thanks for the advice! Can I just add that Wescot are bullying little bellends who prey upon other people's misery...I found this link rather amusing, especially seeing as how they have loadsa profits to get new bloomin systems... especially liking the sentence "to keep up with it's extraordinary success" (not) http://www.app3.unisys.com/simplify/unisysdifference/doc/Wescot.pdf thanks for the help chaps...
  4. Also not sure if they signed for it as haven't yet checked, but will do first thing tommorrow!!
  5. I realised I forgot the £1!!! Knowing Wescot they will pursue the debt on those grounds! Eeek! Should I send them the £1 by cheque now? Sorry to go on, but this debt is really annoying as it worries me that they will try and take me for all I have when I have a little one to think of and it's not even my debt!"!!
  6. So what happens if they reply within the next 30 days? And if they don't what can I do then?
  7. Hello, I followed the advice I found on here regarding requesting a CCA for a debt that Wescot had produced from an old address I had lived at, but which I suspect is not mine - I had a lot of debts in the past, but paid the majority of them off, except two which I am currently paying off - I sent a recorded letter on t he 1st of March requesting a CCA, but as yet have heard nothing, so I am wondering what action I should take now? As they have not replied, is it best to leave alone? I am quite adamant that I am not going to let them bully me into paying this debt, as they contacted me October of 2005 (when I was 6mths pregnant) informing me they had had my mobile contract "bill" passed over to them by my then mobile provider O2 - being heavily pregnant and not wanting a big debt looming over me I managed to scrape together £1,000 in 8 weeks - but at the time I found it massively impossible to wonder how I had run up £1,000 on a mobile bill! I had used it a lot, but had a lot of free minutes and monitored my calls - and anyway, basically I later realised (after reading this and other debt websites) that this may have been another [problem] cooked up between such companies in the name of "debt"!!! So anyway, I want to get Wescot to go away, but need advice on how to deal with this now they haven't replied to the CCA... Thanks for any advice you can offer!!
