  1. vendeenne, When I worked in retail, I am sure that payments by credit cards resulting in the company taking payment loseing about 3% of the transaction total which therefore means Ryanair took £110.00 from you but only receives £106.66 (approx) from your credit card payer. This means your £20.00 loss = 16.34 profit to Ryanair and when you realise that for each flight passenger Ryanair carries, they usually seek about £4 to £5 profit after all costs they managed yet again to do it! They are clever but for the likes of me in the know, several years ago Ryanair declared that within 10 years they expect not to charge customers for flights! They expect to make money from ADD-ONS- such as booking in fees, luggage, etc I guess profiting from extortinate credit card fees is another way they generate income. Won't be long before they charge for use of toilets and oxygen usage whilst in-flight
  2. Hello JonCris, I trained with a local charity dealing with the very vulnerable people in the last couple of years and was cleared to work with them. I am just annoyed that with the MOD you can not lie, but will I find myself declaring something that needn,t have been declared.
  3. Hello Hobbie, Well im still back to to where I began- PNC checked 3 years ago states-No trace, my subject access request sent to county police headquarters with £10.00 payment and letter to explain / prove my caution has been responded with a letter from National Identification Services in London stating the following: SECTION 7, DATA PROTECTION ACT, 1998-SUBJECT ACCESS In reply to your request for information that may be held about you by the (XXXXXXXX POLICE) ON COMPUTERS IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:- PERSON RECORD: PROSECUTION / CONVICTION THE DATA PROTECTION ACT PLACES AN OBLIGATION ON THE POLICE WHEN HOLDING PERSONAL INFORMATION ON COMPUTER TO PROVIDE A COPY OF THAT INFORMATION (UNLESS AN EXEMPTION APPLIES) TO THE INDIVIDUAL CONCERNED ON REQUEST. FROM THE PERSONAL DETAILS SUPPLIED IN YOUR REQUEST THERE IS NO INFORMATION HELD ABOUT YOU IN THE PERSON RECORD CATEGORY OF THE POLICE NATIONAL COMPUTER. IF YOU REQUESTED ANY CATEGORIES NOT SHOWN ABOVE THE BEDFORDSHIRE POLICE WILL SEND YOU A SEPERATE REPLY. On my subject access form request, I requested details of my caution! So in effect has the caution been removed? Why mention a caution on an application form that can't be verified if removed? Ive considered to mention my police caution on application and explain that they will have to just contact (xxxxx police for details) why say more if nothing shows?
  4. Thought I would join this debate. Due to the nature of my job, over the last 3 years I have recieved my PNC check which showed nothing. However now that I have been deployed to work at a MOD site, I will have to complete a new MOD form that asks about any cautions I have recieved- Well I did recieve one caution about 13 to 14 years ago. As the MOD check will involve a PNC and local police station check, I took it upon myself to write to my local police whereby I gave them all my details regarding my caution. My reason was to see what I should write on my MOD form and what type of caution I recieved. However after my lenghy letter to the local police head quarters-who have varified me, they have responded by stating they hold nothing on me? How can this be? Should I declare this caution? Taking into account that when the MOD check it out, nothing will show? Will they then think im a fantasist? These police caution issues are not easy topics.
  5. This topic is interesting however apart from finance should we also get children to be taught law! How to deal with corrupt organisations-fraud etc etc
  6. Whilst banks and financial institutions are credit scoring us, has it not come to a period that we in turn should now be asking them of their financial status? Should credit scoring now be made public on the individual banks and loan companies status?
  7. Hello Priority one, No I did not have joint ownership, but had lived at the property for several years. It was stated that although I did not own half a mortgage I did contribute to the bills. Also the solicitor representing my ex admitted that I did not have to leave the property as I had lived there for a long period. Many of you will be aware of homes sold but lodgers remain! On that note my ex was happy to pay me off and me be on my merry way
  8. From my own experience- 1) He is entitled to a share of the property value! The monthly contribution of £400.00 is his contribition! 2) If he has lived in the house for more than six months-she has in fact no legal right to deny him access to his home! He should speak to a solicitor. 3) Any building work he has done that has increased the value of his home should be taken into account also! The above comments are issues I dealt with 12 years ago so I know from back then dealing with my solicitor and my exes solicitor that they do stand as law. Were lived together and were not married!!!
  9. Being an ex retail manager (based in Oxford Street London) if a person picks up any item/s and leaves the store without paying for them, then that is theft. However, if someone picks up an item and tries to hide it under their jumper and then replaces it back in the store, that is not theft. HOW MANY OF US WATCH OLDER FOLK PLACING SHOPPING IN THEIR OWN SHOPING TROLLEYS THEN GET TO A CHECK OUT AND REMOVE THE ITEMS FROM THEIR OWN TROLLEYS AND PAY FOR THE GOODS? THE RULE HAS ALWAYS BEEN... If you see someone shoplifting- you must see them pick up the item, hide the item, walk out without paying for the item! They must never be out of site!!!! So if your daughter had nothing on her, then she has commited no crime. Now assuming that she did think of stealing, then changed her mind, the fact that she was found to have nothing on her shows that- a) she out-smarted those watching her, b) those watching her were not watching her fully, c) She may have looked nervous whilst browsing and attracted suspition (which is no crime in itself). My advice is same as other entries- Do not pay any money and ask for compensation. It is worth noting though that prices for goods are higher due to theft, so we need to reduce theft to get lower prices!
  10. I forgot to mention that although I am responsible for all 3 staff members terminated employment- I am in fact a very nice person
  11. Motherclucker, During the last ten years of being employed, I have been responsible for the following: 1 area manager being sacked 1 team leader resigning 1 (very senior) manager resigning What all three had in common, was disrespect for their staff and being bullies! So if I can inspire you, I would say that you should advise your friend to make a formal complaint to his/hers HR department. In addition I think that someone claiming to have pi---d in someone elses drink- whether she did or not, should reflect that the person may be unstable therefore this should also be addressed. Good luck
  12. You been naughty? Only joking, not sure what has happened to you but I am sure someone will explain.
  13. Curr946 1)I am in my bank, talking to the cashier, who checks my balance says I have sufficient funds in my account to withdraw the cash amount requested... Several days later- no other transactions or cheques or direct debits and I receive letter saying overdrawn and to recieve charges! 2) Started direct debit with media company, direct debit taken not on the agreed date of between 1st and 3rd of month but debited on 13th of month instead... Resulted in overdrawn account and to recieve charges (bank states until end of test case can not be dealt with!) 3) Motgage payment left my account on a Monday, did not arrive with mortgage company for 3 days, neither bank nor mortgage company knows where money went but I recieved charges for late payment! 4) Using debit card in shop and payment authorised, following night checked my account had money in account, withdrew some and then discovered debit payment authorised didnt actually get taken from account there and then, end result overdrawn with charges! If you feel that I am negligent so be it, but I put it to you, that the 4 examples above are all true statements and demonstrate that the banks purposely have set practises that make customers go overdrawn! Finally, when I opened my account the terms and conditions have evolved into a charter of theft on a large scale! In conclusion, when the banks during the late nineties bought out the building societies, they paid hundreds of millions, in order to recoup the payments they decided to UP anything in costs they could which resulted in us the customers effectively paying for their growth! If you feel we are irresponsible I say you are naieve!
  14. Unknown warrior, I think your comments warrents further examples of the banks grotest actions. 1) My utility company agreed to take a direct debit from my account between 1st and 3rd of each month, Accidently they processed on the 13th- This resulted in me being charged £260.00!!!!!!! 2) I withdrew cash from my bank cashier, who first checked my account for funds and said the amount was fine as I was in credit. Two days later and taking into account no direct debits or any other payments resulted in me recieving penalty charges for £39 + daily charges !!!!! 3) A friend of mine (and in last 10 days) discovered a utility company took money from his account on a day 3 days earlier than agreed. This resulted in charges of £200 that had left him moneyless (until I bailed him out) but the bank in question states " Until the test case is resolved, we are not obliged to deal with your request for refund due to error"! If you feel all the above is justifiable, then I put to you that you could become a millionair by taking to court those (education authorities) that have taught you that robbery is acceptable! Before you judge anyone, please make sure you get a full picture.
  15. Only 2 weeks ago I was in a local Natwest Bank handing over a new credit card that had been delivered to my home in the name of another person. Prior to that I had received several credit card statements and returned them stating "not known at this address". Had I have not been an honest person, I probably would of by now recieved a pin number to go with the card and gone on a spending spree! So above is one example how credit cards go astray because of a probable administration error by the banks.
  16. Ive been following this thread with interest. Like one of the other responses I too am a firm believer that "what goes around comes around". I do not think you have lost the case because at the end of the day these dreadfull neighbours now know you will not take any crap from them in future and won't hesitate to go through the court system.
  17. I am in agreement with Dave, I think ALL OF US should return them. In fact when I return mine I will state that I am sticking to the original terms and conditions for when I first opened my account.
  18. Let me tell you. I had PPI added to my loan but I did not request it but was told I had to have it to get the loan!
  19. I hope the new year brings you better things! Make sure you document all your times and dates in dealing with this company because the first thing that is obvious; is they don't know the meaning of customer care.
  20. Hello doolally, I received a response from an insurer regarding mis sold PPI. They sent me their final reply I inturn immediately made a formal complaint to FOS who are now dealing with it. Once you receive your final response just complain to FOS its so easy and straightforward. I can just sit back on this case and prepare my next one
  21. Whats the peoblem! They are wripping us customers off so not why shareholders?
  22. littlesally, Your an angel in discusise. Well done for looking after your homeless persons.
  23. I do not think there is much point i re-submiting a claim. The fact is you have raised your complaint prior to the court case so your doing ok for now.
  24. None of us were particularly wise to all these issues. However this week I will be submitting my S A R and following the route to reclaim the PPI. Please do the same. It was not until I read the entries on here that the PPI one off payment was also subject to the APR interest. Thieving b...a.ds!
  25. hellhasnofury, I agree with you totaly. The only way for us all to get action is to complain, complain and complain! Then as with bank charges the appropriate authorities will act! Loan companies dont sit down with clients asking questions, and fully explaining things, they merely tell you to sign on the dotted line and imply you need this cover and that cover...
