  1. Thank you IdainFife, I will have a good read of this
  2. Thank you Mark for replying. Could you elaborate a little for me please as here we have been told by the scheme manager and the main office that we will need a 'performing rights licence' which they say costs around £340 per year. With the information you supply I will be able to discuss it further with the manager. Once again, thank you
  3. Aologises if this is in the wrong section............... I live in sheltered accomodation and we have recently been granted a projector to play DVD's in our communal lounge , what Ii need to know is do we need a licence for this and if so which one ? DVD's will only been played to the residents, there will be no monies been taken. Kind regards for your help
  4. Thank you for clearing that up for me
  5. Hi and good evening. Can you tell me when someone (aged 62) has been awarded pension credit do they still have to sign-on every two weeks ?? Thank you in advance
  6. Gobsmacking 83% woohooooooooooooooooo Happy Christmas and a wonderful 2010
  7. Not an expert but have booked many holidays. I think you'll find that you only paid the 'low deposit' and the remainder of the deposit was to be paid on a date set by First Choice. That remainder will still need to be paid and I presume that the difference will be for the 'under occupancy'. 6 booked and now only 5 can go, that would change the costing, which also will have to be paid. This all falls on the head of the 'lead name' ie: the person who actually booked the holiday.
  8. Thank you Busby for replying. It was an old Visa Credit Card and as the card and every card I have had since has had different numbers. I can never recall a time when I have ever used the internet to pay for E.cards, in fact I am absolutely sure I have never. Quite rightly the onus was on me, but in January 2008 I was on holiday so never really bothered checking the online statement. More worried about having enough to meet bills etc............. Happy New Year
  9. Happy New Year to all of you I was checking my online banking last night when I saw a transaction I didnt recognise. My account was debited on the 30th December for £11.19 plus £1 for an overseas transaction. I searched back through statements and saw that in January 2008 there was also a transaction I didnt recognise for £7.99 plus £1 for an overseas transaction. Both of those transactions were for E.cards. I called the bank this morning and after a bit of too-ing and fro-ing it appears that the transaction was taken from an old card that expired in 2204. I asked how that could happen and was told 'I dont know' After a while the guy came back and said thats sorted now. I asked again how or why this happened but they have no answers. I asked if he had put steps in to prevent this happening again and he said yes. I asked if my money would be returned and he said only the latest transaction as they can only pay back with 120 days. Is this right ? Surely if I presented an out-of-date card at a till I would be told the card had expired.
  10. Wasnt pointing the finger SF at anyone in particular. It has been rewarding for us as carers and hope to God the children found it rewarding for them to. My longest placement lasted 8 years even though I was a short term carer. That placement ended 7 years ago but we still take responsibilty for her as she has health problems. We are the proud grandparents to a beautiful baby girl from one of our foster children. Although I have retired now I still have ex foster children in my life and will till the day I die
  11. I was a local authority carer for 20 years and have just retired after caring for 250+ children. When I fostered all those years ago my payment was £22 per week, that was to provide 24/7 care for a small child. I was a carer for 10 years before we were granted a 'reward element' for fostering. Private fostering fees and local authority fees are different but thats because the child/children deem to be 'difficult' I feel sad reading the threads as I guess a lot of people think its 'money for old rope' but honestly it can be easy but it can be extremely difficult also. Whatever the rights and wrongs there will always be a need to recruit more foster carers.
  12. Oooooooooops thing I weighed-in in the wrong thread. Lost 1.5 lbs this week. 17.5lbs since November
  13. Another 1.5 lbs this week. Thats 17.5 lbs so far, since November.
  14. Hiya, I have lost 16lbs altogether since the beginning of November. I want to lose another 2 st by the beginning of May. I weigh and write down everything I eat, boring but it worls for me
