  2. Right, as I mentioned in my last post, I sent an email on 08/12/06, requesting full refund by 18/12/06. Got a reply email promptly, statin that I 'can be confident that I will receive my refund shortly'. WTF Does that mean?! I replied stating that this was too vague and that my deadline of 18/12/06 remained extant. 18/12/06 arrived and no cheque in the post - so I called npower and spoke to the lady who I had corresponded with via email - she said that I would definitely get the cheque by today - and guess what - no cheque received today! I understand that the post is slow because of Xmas
  3. Of course, you are right. Have just paid the bill and am writing a letter to get MY money back. Cheers
  4. Until 1 Nov this year our gas and electricity was supplied by npower (we have now changed supplier as they are no longer the cheapest). We still owe them £33.96 on the electricity, but they owe us £193.66 on the gas. I think fairly, I have refused to pay my electricity bill until I have received a refund for the gas. I have the money to pay the electricity bill but am fighting this on a matter of principle - after all, others in the same situation may not be able to pay their bill and really need that extra £200 ish near Christmas. npower are now threatening to appoint a debt colle
  5. I'm in exactly the same boat mate - live in my A&L overdraft of £2k and my claim will only be circa £500. If I claim I know they will close the account, so I'll need a parachute account with a £1500 overdraft facility! Anyone know of any bank which is particularly leanient with their overdraft levels? Thanks all.
  6. Not my experience; I filed on 8 May 06, they acknowledged on 15 May 06 and I'm still waiting for a defence/questionnaire!
  7. I think it's very unlikely that they would re-open your account - especially if they are forced to return around £3000 worth of charges to you! Sorry
  8. Really interested to hear what the mods have to say on this matter - it's a new one on me and surely it can't be legal? BF/Dave?
  9. Will it not suffice if you authorise them to debit the £10 from your account in the DPA letter?
  10. Even though they have stated that this is the final decision on the matter?
  11. Hi all, I sent the LBA last week, giving Lloyds TSB until 10 May to refund charges or else I would start legal action. Got an email today stating that they did not intend to refund the charges and that this was the bank's final decision on the matter. Should I still wait until the 10th, or do you think that since they have made their "final decision" I am within my rights to file a claim straight away? Any advice would be great. Many thanks.
  12. My account has been closed for a good couple of years now.
  13. Hi all, Wonder if anyone can give me a little advice; I sent my initial DPA request on 3 Mar and have proof of sending/delivery. I enclosed a cheque for £10 with this and also copied the letter direct to LTSB via email. They have just sent me a letter saying that they are happy to send me copy statements, blah blah blah, but I must first send them £10. Obviously they have lost the cheque or are denying that they ever received it. They are also stating that, under the DPA, they have 40 days from date of receiving payment to provided the statements. All seems like underhand d
  14. Hi all, fantastic site which I have been keeping an eye on for the past couple of weeks. Finally sent my DPA info requests for my old Lloyds Bank a/c and credit card (via email). Received the following: Will keep you all posted on [any!] progress. Good luck with your claims, one and all.
