  1. Hi Hedgey Nat West slapped a default notice on him because of my bankruptcy because we had a joint account, which had an overdraft and personal loan!! Thanks for your help anyway. x
  2. HiThanks for coming back to me. It is me that is bankrupt not my husband. He tried to open a account with Nationwide and was refused. I spoke to Nat West and they informed me that my husband cannot have an account with him because of adverse credit info. Is there any other Bank that will take him on do you know. He needs a bank with direct debits etc. Thanks
  3. I have a joint account with Nat West and I was made bankrupt at the beginning of June. I know that any overdraft etc falls to my husband, jointly and severally etc. The point I am getting to is that a day before my husband got paid he found out that Nat West closed our account without informing him. His wages are now "floating" and he has the hassle of trying to get another account opened. Will my bankruptcy have an adverse reaction to my husband opening an account in his name only? As soon as I was made bankrupt I had informed the bank that I was now bankrupt and i was told by numerous people at Nat West I was told that the joint account would be closed and that another account would probably be opened in my husband's name only. My husband spoke to someone Thursday evening at NatWest and was told that his details were now with Debt Management and that there had been no default charges put on the account yet!! After being with Nat West for 20 plus years we feel that we have been treated really badly. What recourse of action can my husband now take to avoid further interest and charge being added to the account as he has not been made bankrupt. Can he also chase for bank charges on his own? Sorry for it to be so long winded but any help would be much appreciated. Thanks vbrep_register("941758")

  5. My daughter opened her account when she was 16. Even if she went 1p over she was charged!! The trouble is, she has not kept any of her statements. The statements that have got charges on are range from £20 to £75, and they total nearly £1200, she has literally paid thousands in charges. So how can I get them to prove it. Also the envelope was franked The Royal Bank of Scotland plc. Also how far can you go with Nat West. I have been a customer myself with them for 25 years and they have had their fair share of charges from me as well!! I just think everyone is so brilliant in the way they come up with help and advice.
  6. Hi Thanks for coming back to me so promptly. I will do that template you suggest. She was 16.
  7. Hi I hope you can help me. I am chasing Nat West for my daughter for the last six years regarding charges. I have just received her statements, which is nearly a book!! She was an apprentice hairdresser earning £60 a week, which every month there was going £240 in her bank. Being a teenager she was always going overdrawn and being charged!! Anyway to cut a long story short, they have deleted all her charges. There are statements which do not run concurrent, it is like they have missed the pages with charges on. They cannot do that can they? Is there anything I can do. Please advise. Thanks
  8. Thanks for that. I thought so, but just wanted to double check.
  9. I have just received my charges from Woolwich and have done the chart with all the charges and the letter requesting payment. On the chart do I ask for the interest now? Thanks .
  10. I have just received my charges back from the Woolwich today. What is the next step please? Thanks
  11. I have just received a statement from Woolwich and they have deleted my bank charges. I know for a fact that I had some there, because I had a letter from them saying that they was charging me £35 for a bounced cheque. HELP!!! Also I am still waiting for all my statements. Should be next week that I get them.
  12. Hi I sent my letter on the 6th March and the letter you have received from the Woolwich is exactly the same one as I have just received back. They have also returned my cheque for £10 and told me the intend to resolve the matter by 4th April!! So do i have to wait until then? Help!!
  13. Thanks. I finally found the thread and read it. It sounds so complicated, but I am going to do it!!
  14. I was just wondering if anyone has some advice for me. We got into trouble with Nat West. We got overdrawn, we owed a lot of money and were advised to take out a bank loan. Over the years we have been charged thousands in bank charges. How do we stand if we were to ask for bank charges back. We still have 3 years to run on the loan. I'm just wondering what might be a possibility; would they substitute the bank loan for the bank charges, i.e. cancel the bank loan in return for us dropping our case with the bank charges?? Any help would be appreciated!!
