Hi there, when i got taken unexpectedly into hospital, the last thing i was thinking was to pay my Avon bill. They passed it onto a debt collector, and i did receive further charges but i paid it off through them. I know this is not much help but just try phoning them and make an agreement with them. Some money off the debt is better than none. Good Luck, Bex

Hi all, I have put a claim into Abbey for £1400. They sent me the "sorry to hear of complaint" letter and said i would hear from them within four weeks. On the last day of what would have been the four weeks they sent me another letter, stating that it would be longer than expeced, and they required a further four weeks. Obviosly this was longer than the original timescale i had given them but i was chuffed to have had some response. On the 4th May i received a letter from Abbey saying as a goodwill getsure they would refund me £155.00 within 10 days. Today is now the 28th of May, and i have not received a penny back off them! I have spoken with the complaints department on the telephone on three occassions and i found them too be quite rude telling me too wait as they were doing me a favour!! I was going to send the next letter off saying that i was unhappy with this offer. How do i stand because my original timescale that i had given them passed several weeks ago, and secondly they havent refund what they said they were going too. Hope somebody can help me as i am one very confused Abbey customer and i feel i am being taken advantage of! Thanks Bex

Hi, i am new to this site but really need some help and advice. I put in a claim for my bank charges, to Abbey, just under 8 weeks ago. After receiving my statements i totalled up £1400.00 in charges. I received a letter off them today saying that as a good will gesture they will refund me £155.00. :o The have said this will be in my account in the next 10 days. I am unsure as what to do next as i am unhappy with this amount. Do i write to them or do i go straight to the small claims court? Another thing i was worried about is do i not touch the money that goes into my bank or do i have a right to spend it!!?? I just wondered wether this would effect my case. Hope someone can offer me some advice. Good luck to everyone else Becki
