  1. It is better if you stick to things in writing really, because you then have a paper trail so you need to refer to it at a later date should you need to go to court
  2. Since my last visit to this thread i took my grandchildren to the local church hall playgroup and lo and behold up in the notice board was a notice for your church laalinz lol I was tempted to join but as i'm atheist it would be against 'my religion' to donate a £1000 pounds a year. One shouldn't have to pay to follow any religion IMO
  3. You are missing the point! He didn't forge your signature, he wrote your name on his pod I was neither blind to the truth or lucky, i grew up in a society where you could leave your key in the door overnight and everything would still be in place in the morning So don't tell me it didn't exist, you don't know
  4. He obviously didn't have a copy of your signature did he or he would've made a better forgery of it! And actually it wasn't all that many years i lived in the world you say no longer exists but as you say unfortunately not now
  5. Hi Honeybee, thanks! Yes i quite agree he did wrong but was it so wrong? As i said it's not like he 'copied' her signature to use at a later date for fraudulent purposes is it? I get so sick of this do-good society we live in these days, why cant we have more of a live and let live attitude where there's no serious damage done? Sorry but people who have nothing better to do than complain about everything really p*ss me off!
  6. I sometimes think all this consumer activism is going a bit too far in some cases (especially this one) and also in the case of RLP where people are helping shoplifters get away with committing crimes, which in my opinion is far more serious than what that poor postie done. Ive been on the receiving end of the bad customer service by the PO, where things have gone missing etc but i'd rather have your 'criminal' postie than most if that's the worst of his crimes. Talk about bureaucracy gone mad, i'll say no more on the subject as i obviously have higher morals than some on this thread
  7. Just wanted to say, i was supposed to start all these interviews under the labour govt so it's not just this govt to blame lol
  8. {I was asked to sign a secretive form when I joined so unfortunately my lips have to remain sealed.} I wouldn't worry about that, they weren't exactly fair with you were they?
  9. So, you got £20 and that poor postie may well have lost his job! Is that fair? What if he has dependants to care for? It's not like he was defrauding you, or even keeping the parcel for himself or selling it on was he? It was put through your letter box so no-one else could get access to it, so it was delivered to the relevant address wasn't it? Personally i don't see the problem, our postie often signs for us and leaves parcels in a safe place for which we are grateful as we lives miles from the nearest delivery office. Shame on you i say
  10. I am currently attending A4E pathways to work interviews after being signed off by ATOS for another 18 months minimum Talk about a waste of taxpayers money, surely they should've waited until my 18 months was up? Subscribing anyway
  11. I for one would love to know what goes on behind closed doors at this church I dont suppose for one minute it's any worse than what happens in the CC
  12. I'd just give her the bike back if it was me, it's only worth probably half of that now or would be if you were to wrap it round a tree first lol
  13. How much was the loan for and how much are they charging you for it? How long was the original agreement for?
  14. TBH this is the second one of these i've had, the first one was a wedding prezzie in 2004 I sold that one in late 2006 (moved into a private rented house with brand new Bosch F/F in it) and hadn't had any problems with it, it was approx 2 1/4 yrs old. This second one i bought second hand in Jan 2009 and as far as i know it hadn't had any problems with it, except that ever since i've had it i've had to keep it on number 1 because of the freezing at the back of the fridge. I believe it was about 2 years old when i got it It does freeze things if they are touching the back of the fridge, its inconvenient but not worth worrying about! Is that what was happening with yours?
  15. I have this model of fridge/freezer so subscribing to this thread in case i have the same problem I have to admit i do have to run mine on setting number 1 or it freezes at the back of the fridge BTW mine is in the kitchen also
  16. WTF? Its actually gone to court? Where Judge Judy? Surely a gift is just that...........a GIFT? Does he have any proof (photographic or otherwise) that she gave it to him? Sorry i cant help further, i'm absolutely gobsmacked!
  17. Thats not good unfortunately As the eldest often take precedence in these circumstances unless the care home have it written somewhere who your grandmother named as her NoK when she entered the home (if indeed she was compos mentis at the time?) Next would be primary caregiver 'before' she was admitted who would probably have the final say Lastly majority vote, she has three daughters so one would have the deciding vote per se Sorry i cant help more but its a complex situation Who is funding her stay in a home?, sorry to be personal but sometimes its important
  18. Hi Sheddy, who is your grandmothers next of kin? Usually the eldest in the absence of a spouse?
  19. Why do you say they have stalled you? You're the one who has been away for 3 weeks lol
  20. Its a shame really that you've only just missed out on the 8th month break clause (to use that your notice would've had to go in on or before the 19th September) although generally speaking most 12 month tenancies have a 6 month break clause. Personally i would try to negotiate with the agents and try to appeal to their better nature (if they have one) that as long as they have 2 months notice you can leave on 19th December. Once the 19th December has passed if you are still in the property you would be liable for the last months rent anyway up until the 19th Jan. You could always not pay Decembers rent if it wont prejudice your new tenancy wherever you are going, although i dont condone it as it may jeopardise any deposit you have paid. Do you know if your deposit (if one was paid) is in a registered protected scheme? If its not the agent will be on a sticky wicket and it could prove to be a good bargaining tool Someone more knowledgeable may be along shortly to help out better as my letting knowledge is a bit rusty, let us know how you get on
