  1. Hi There, apologies if im writing ini the wrong section but i have a question: I have recently recieved my settlement from barclays and now was wondering about credit cards! I have had 3 in the past (all are now no longer used) one with Morgan Stanley one with Egg and one with Capital One. Is there a section on this site devoted to credit cards. Are the charging rules still the same, do we use the same letters etc. Any help / guidance would be very much appreciated Thanks guys
  2. Ok so after sending off my initial letter claiming £4173.81 of bank charges i have recieved the standard reply from Barclays. "we are sorry you have had to contact us about the level of service you have recieved from barclays. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to do so. we are looking into your concerns and will let you have an answer or update as quickly as possible, but no later than 26 March 07. bla bla" I issued them with my LBA and the 14days have now expired (today), so i should really be starting my moneyclaim online... Do you think it wise to call them before i do so just saying that they were supposed to get back to me re: their letter and do they want to settle before i put the claim in? If not will have to wait till Friday when I have the money to pay the initial £120 that moneyclaim charges. Advice:confused: has anyone managed to speak to someone there and resolve? Thanks:D
  3. Hi, As mentioned in my previous messages i have just sent off my statements and am awaiting Barclays reply - however i have been reading through and am slightly confused re: the interest I have seen the speadsheet and have started to calculate the charges v the interest in preperation for the next stages :? From what i understand i dont issue the interest until i get to the court stage? is that correct? :? If however Barclays decide to settle out of court, when do add the interest on? If anyone could shed some much needed light on this i would be v greatful
  4. Thanks dar3n, Yeah i did get the impresstion that they tend to send out the standard replys, hopefully with a bit of persistance they we will manage to get our charges back Barclays seem to be the type of bank that doesent cave until the 11th hour... will have to wait and see.
  5. Ok well having requested and recieved my 6 years worth of statements and charges I have finally added them up as totaling a massive £4173.81 :o my boyfriend has also recieved his and is attempting to claim back £2137.31 from Barclays for charges on our current accounts. I must say I am curious as to what their next steps will be as from other individual expereinces Barclays can be one of the more difficult banks - but i am prepared to take it to the courts due to the magnitude of the charges i have incurred. I have done my homework and have read up the various internet advice sites but any helpful hints or tips would be most appreciated especially from anyone who has claimed for around the same amount... Fingers crossed they will play nicely x x
  6. Hi all, I just joined after reading all of your stories and advice. I have just sent off my initial letter requesting the refund of £4173.81 :o against Barclays after receiving my statements a couple of days ago. And my boyfriend is claiming £2137.31. I have given them the usual 14days to pay in full before embarking on the small claims court... I am intrigued as what their next step is going to me as by all accounts Barclays seem to be difficult but I am prepared to see it though as £4173.81 is not pocket money by anyone’s standards. Has anyone had any success with Barclays claiming similar amounts or are they more likely to take such claims to court?
