  1. my signature does look grainy while the one supposed to be other half's is very black. Wish I could send someone the 2 signatures.
  2. We have had a copy of a credit agreement back from thames credit but other half's signature doesn't look like his at all. However mine does there again they have had my sig on letters before. has this happened to anyone else?
  3. don't know if this is any use but a few weeks ago I tried doing a google search for Thames Credit and there was a really good blog about them. Aktiv Kapital is the parent company apparently and I 'm not sure how kosher the info on the blog is but the guy who started it ir quite unscrupulous (aren't they all?) and the company AK is renowned for getting ID's wrong. Sorry I can't remember the blog address. Try looking on google for them you may find it. good luck
  4. Fifthly I have just noticed my husbands signature doesn't look like his signature at all mine does though...mind you that's me being too suspicious after all they have my signature from other correspondence.. Isn't it awful how they make you think there's no depths they won't sink to? Does anyone know whether I would be entitled to a proper copy of the sales receipt?
  5. hello everyone Thames Credit have been trying to colect this debt for 4 years now so I decided to ask for whatever details they had regarding statement of payments and a copy of the bill of sale for our repossessed car plus copy of agreement. On the top of the "statement" page it has account balance £0.00 and Arrears £0.00, then a bunch of figures of what they reckon we had paid off the car and the sale price of £2450 leaving a balance of £6707 to pay. Question 1 if they say they want 6K then whats with the zero balance and arrears? Secondly I asked for a copy of the bill of sale as they could have sold it for any amount and put a different one down. Am I entitled to see this anyway? Thirdly If I took off the PPI which we were told we had to have and which we foolishly signed for (we had been in the damn place about 6 hours while they kept disappearing and my then toddler was all over the place I would have signed anything) This would leave £2600 ish.. Fourthly since they sent these over a week ago I haven't heard a thing so what do I do? any advice folks?
  6. Thank you so much for your help, will try the cca bit.
  7. Would I send this to DCA or cap 1? also what would you consider to be a later date eg weeks or months? sorry to be a pain:|
  8. As I explained earlier this stuff is new to me so forgive me if it's been covered before. I know from reading through the forum that you shouldn't acknowlege debts you're unsure of BUT what if you already have but are now wiser? I'll give you a what if....what if you arrange to pay a DCA a monthly sum but now discover you could get penalty charges back off credit card companies ie Cap 1. Do you just drop the idea of trying to get them back to lower the amount you owe, or do you say to DCA I'm suspending this while I take action for recovery of charges?
  9. Hello all i fear I may have found you all a little late but here goes, In 2004 I decided to do a home study course in pc maint. When the chappie came round he said that I wouldn't have to buy any extra materials as it was provided with the course, anyway the finance was from a company called aques (sp) finance and all went splendidly until about 3 months in when the course called for me to fit hard drives etc...now I wasn't going to tinker with my own pc so called to ask when the bits were to arrive. I was told that I had to use my own. I then decided to cancel the course as I could not afford to see it through. Now BCW are chasing for the debt which of course I acknowleged, I asked them to tell me how much was paid in tutor fees etc as I only did a few months so surely I wouldn't be liable..ie where was all the money spent if I didn't use it? They said that was nothing to do with them they just collect the debt. I have offered them £20 per month but still feel aggrieved at having to pay at all it stands at £1100. could I still ask for more details of expenditure? vbrep_register("882486")
