  1. sorry for the hassle I just got off the phone with Metlife (insurance holders) and between themselves and Citi they both confirm that the policy is paid in full when the loan is taken out. I found the Agreement which indicates the premium of £1677.14 plus interest of £847.33 amounting to £2524.57. I think this changes the whole calculation ,would I just fill in the top row in your spreadsheet, and do I use the original figure of £1667.14 (less loan interest) or the amount £2524.57 (includes loan interest at 17.44%) keeping in mind I have only paid for 49 of the 60 payments toward the loan Your help is greatly appreciated
  2. Many Thanks. dx100uk I do however have an active account open with citifinanceial so to claim what has been paid plus interest, i would adjust the date in column B to start of loan finishing of at latest payment, change the monthly amount in Column D and everything should fall in Place, they would then have to adjust my monthly payment to exclude the insurance payment and less interest Once again Thanks
  3. Thanks for the spreadsheet it is easier for me to understand it when looking at fomulae, I do however have one more question. does the claim for the 8% stop at the last payment or does it carry on until the claim is submitted ie in your spreadsheet the total amounted to £934.78, is this the final amount I claim for, I know I may sound a bit dim here but I need to get this right first time without messing up on the claim Thanks
  4. hi After trawling this site im still none the wiser when it comes to interest compound or other. I just can't get my head around the calculation explainations. Case 1 PPI cost £403.98 with interest over a 48Month period =£744.62 monthly payment of £15.51 loan started 27 May 2005 Now I managed to calculate your figures to get to the amount of £801.12 but cannot figure out how you calculated the interest to get £705.11 . I have tried the compound interest calculators but they just give me a headache any assistance will be helpfull even an example in numbers and laymen terms will help a lot Thanks
  5. when I was claiming unfair bank charges there was a lot of mention that you can only claim as far back as 6 years, I assumed this also applied to PPI, I don't believe everything on TV
  6. This claim is for Citi Finance and the old one (about to expire is Welcome Finance i found out today about the Welcome PPI dating back to 27/07/2004 whilst looking for the current laon details.
  7. Can someone please help with the details. here is the letter found on this site. I am trying to fill this in as best I can one of my claims need to be in before the end of July as this will max out the 6 year period, so the sooner I can get this right the better Im no finacial wizard when it comes to calculating APR compound int and the rest. I have filled out as much as I could if someone could double check for me and perhaps assist in the final refund plus inetrest Thanks In Advance My details are as follows Period of loan = 60 Months from may 2006 so I am still busy paying this off amount paid to borrower = 2374.49 refinance existing loan = 5625.51 Insurance = 1677.14 arrangement fee 115 total Credit £9792.14 total + Int = 14,740.20 Int = 19.5% apr another interest rate of 17.44 per annum monthly int = unknown at this moment (contenets of Letter) I believe I have been mis-sold a payment protection insurance policy and would like to request a full refund of my premiums, plus interest paid. I took out a £2374.49 loan refinancing an existing loan of £5625.51 at your branch on 17 May 2006 and also bought a payment protection policy which has cost me an extra £1677.14 over the life of the loan. The total amount of my premiums plus interest is £ 2524.67. When I took out the loan, I was told that my application would be refused if I did not also buy a PPI policy. The Financial Services Authority’s advice to consumers is that, while it does not breach FSA guidelines, a borrower should not be refused a loan if they choose not to buy an insurance policy. In forcing me to buy this policy, you have also breached paragraph 8.6 of the Banking Code, to which you are a signatory. I do not believe being forced to buy this policy as part of the loan was a fair and reasonable obligation as I did not need this insurance and said at the time of taking the loan that I did not want it. I am requesting a full refund of all my insurance payments, plus interest, which total [£ xxx]. If I do not receive a favourable response from you I will pursue this claim through the Financial Ombudsman. Yours faithfully,
  8. Can someone give me a little advice I recieved a statement from citfinance The loan was taken on 2006 for +- £8000 int 17.4% it is in this statement that i noticed that I was charged insurance of £1423. Now I am quite certain I refused the insurance when I spoke to the salesperson. I phoned them today and spoke to a very helpfull person, I was all geared up for a full on arguement with him, but he just said I should send a letter to them attention of insurance dept and explain that I wish to cancel the insurance, they will then by default refund the insurance on the account thus reducing it, this sounds too good to be true, do I cancel and hope they refund me or do I start sending letters citing the whole misleading issue. I did have a loan with Welcome Finance (for my car) when this was finished the person i spoke to, to make the final payment said they will send me a refund for the ppi including interest I had paid as a result of the increased debt, as it was ruled that I may have been mesled into taking it, I didn't even mention any ppi it to him. can someone explain this to me period of 2006-2009 opening balance a) £8355.00 total credits b) £9.413.17 (i assume this is what I have paid) Total Debits c) £1423.21 (this is the same amount city gave for insurance) Total Int paid Info only £3972 Total Int Accrued d) £4099.29 Total Ins Accrued e) £1201.54 Closing Bal f) £5665.87 (a) -(b)+©+(d)+(e)=(f) next statment 2009-2010 opening balance a) £5665.87 total credits b) £2.948.04 Total Debits c) £0 Total Int paid Info only £822 Total Int Accrued d) £803.46 Total Ins Accrued e) £174.34 Closing Bal f) £3695.63 (a) -(b)+©+(d)+(e)=(f) in the top statement surely (a)-(b) would mean I have overpaid. then they are charging me insurance, interest and wheatever else they can throw in Thank you Any advice
  9. A slight correction here after checking the calendar it is 8 lessons = 1 term and paid for 4 lessons = recieved 4 lessons = outstanding bill for next 8 lessons as half term notice is needed = 4 lessons As i have not recieved 4 lessons (half a term) they owe me half a term service, therefor rather than give the service consider it as half term notice and cancel the next bill
  10. I signed my son up for Keyboard lessons from a private company who would give this lesson 1hr a week and the payment was for a term of 8 weeks. throughout the course of these 8 weeks he recieved only 6 lessons, he was not given the other 4 lessons as the teachers child needed to be taken to college amoung other personal errands she had to run instead of giving the lesson. when it come to pay for the next term I queried these other 4 lessons and suggested that since he did not recieve the 4 lessons I should only pay half price for the next term, get a refund for half the payment or the outstanding lessons be given attending twice a week. They decided to go with the extra lessons until cought up. Cancellation of these lessons required half a terms notice, which would mean I would have to pay for a full term in order to cancel half way through. I sent them a letter stating that since half a term is 4 lessons and that they owe my son 4 lessons we can regard the 4 lessons as half term notice (hope it makes sense), and concel the contract with imediate effect. No replies to the letter except the odd reminder of outstanding monies £68. My question is, is there a letter template I could compile and send to them to get them off my back before they decide to blemish my credit record. I know this falls under the sale of goods and services act, but i need a template letter outlining this act and their poor service.
  11. I started renting the house in 2004 the gas/heating system has never worked properly for 4 years, in 2003 the house was burgled , the burglars managed to pull a small room (where the boiler, washing machine and tumble dryer are kept) away from the house, resulting in a gap as big as an inch between the house and the washing area. the window frame is all twisted resulting in the window not being able to close. this has caused us not to be able to fully use the living room and dining room, because of the cold draught from this damaged room. We only use the kitchen to cook in the finish our food, and spend the rest of the day/night in our bedrooms where it is warmer. it is only during the summer when we can use the whole house. During winter gas and electric is expensive, to try to warm the place. which hardy works. We have also requested gas certificates over the past 4 years. I know it is a criminal offence not to supply this certificate within 28 days. A new boiler was installed earlier this year - no certificate supplied, although the fitter maintains he is corgi registered. Somewhere in this forum there is a reference to claiming part of rent paid due to disrepair and partial use of a house as a result. can anyone help and give some advice. the local cab are very vague and and just agree that the landlord wrong but don't give and constructive advice I do plan on leaving but want something done while im in the house or else the landlord will deny everything and refuse any sort of inspection.
  12. Update the landlady has now put a claim in to the council and had it approved for £1150 with this she has given me two letters stating the amount we pay her will remain the same as befor totaling £950. as the council was paying £230 per month toward a £950 rent my part would be £720, her letter states I will continue to pay the £720 and the councill will pay the balance, the council now pay her £344 per month, at no point was a rental agreement signed. I would also like to know if I can seek compensation for the living conditions. In 2003 the property was burgled and the thieves managed to pull the back porch/entrance section away from the rest of the building and twisted the window frame preventing the window from closing, so for the past 5 years I have had to put up with living in an ice house. numerouse requests have been made to her, to repair the building, with no success. I have recieved no gas or electric certificate for the past 5 years. I have now reached the end and plan to move but befor leaving, I need to know if I can initiate Fraud charges against her for the council claims (most of wich she did on our behalf without our knowledge). She has now decided to get a possession order because with her continual messing around with the benifit claims the rent amount fluctuates, meaning for a few months the rent was £900 the jumped to £1150 resulting in the council paying different, she has also raised the amount for a while when she claimed my 18 year old daughter lived with us as a student when in fact she moved out at the age of 16 to live with her friend. (two years prior)

    sorn and clamped

he was not using the vehicle anymore and with the fact that most of england live on top of each other they made no provision as to where one should store a vehicle, unless you have a garage to park your car where else do you put it.

    sorn and clamped

My father had his vehilce registered off the road several months ago, and recieved the confirmation from dvla that it is off the road, as there is no off road parking where he lives, the car is parked on the side of the road. outside his house. yesterday he went outside to find a clamp on the vehicle. he called up the clampers who told him that he has to move the vehicle, he cannot do this as it is clamped and once he has the clamp removed he will recieve another within 24 hours as he has no off road parking. The car is not worth the amount of the clamp fees. he has no objections to scrapping the vehicle. any ideas or help
  15. can someone please advise me if i can send this letter to Rundle. I recieved a letter in the door from one of their bailiffs after i was told the account was handed to their agent. and they did cash the check Dear mr barrett in a letter dated 23 Sept 2007 I made an offer of £100 to your office. This offer was turned down and the in the reply letter I was informed that Rundle & co were no longer dealing with this matter, I have since sent this letter along with payment proposals to the RBW&M, payments which would have gone to your office will now be going straight to the RBW&M, As your office have decided not to handle this case any longer can you please inform your employees to return this case to the RBW&M and cease contacting me Yours Faithfully
  16. i recieved a letter whereby they refuse to accept the £100 (although they cashed it) instead they say i must now contact one of their agents, to discuss payment (as they are no longer dealing with it) . As the council are using them as collectors and my dealings are with them, why do i now have to start the whole process over and deal with an agent. They have also devided the total amount in two and thus charging me double. one payment per year where to from here. Oh the council say they will not pursue the attachment order until the bailif issue is sorted. with this being said can i now pay the council direct and will it go off the amount passed to the bailiff
  17. In Miadenhead there is a group off stores Halfords, Maplin, pet store and Homebase, all share the same large free parking area. At about 19:30 it was raining (no excuse) I parked in a disabled bay with the blue sign on the pole. when i came out of Homebase i found my vehicle was clamped by a private company patrolling the parking lot, The charged me £120 to remove the clamp, which I paid (had no choice). I know i was in the wrong but surely a fine should come befor clamping, I don't recall any signs indicating clamping of vehicles for illigal parking. I know i'ts no good crying over spilled milk, but if i can get that milk back into the glass I'll have more to drink. Q: is there any chance of reclaiming my clamp fee
  18. earlier i explained the total being about £4500 the council are seeking £2300 through bailiffs and the remaining £2200 through attachment of earning. If i paid the council direct they would just add it to the AOE claim leaving the bailiff with the original amount to claim for. How can i get the council to consolidate all the debt into one lump sum whch i would then pay off. can I specify which year of council tax i want to pay off first eg 2007 first then 2006 as this is the years council tax the bailiff are seeking.
  19. Did you get the pm i sent. since my car is still under HP and they have listed it on a letter dropped in my postbox. do i still need to find another place to park it or just make the HP aggreement available, for when they plan to seize it
  20. I have now recieved a letter in the postbox HAND DELIVERED in it was a note that they have recorded my car. My wife was up all night last night and at no time heard a knock at the door. these hand delivered letters- do they have to be personally delivered to a person or simply pushing in the door is sufficient for delivery. and my car was bought from Welcome car finance and still being paid for. does my car fall under a HP car and if so can they take it, I have sent them the letter offering to pay £100 for 24 months. waiting for reply.
  21. if after visiting the council office and they refuse to take payment can i pay them through the post office or online, Im sure once the computers accept payment it cannot be reversed as it is a clear indication of them rejecting any form of acceptance of payment.
  22. According to them when i spoke to them the last payment they recieved was at the end of jan 06 for 2005 council tax yet the attachment plus baliff adds up to approx £4500 they seem to have been shuffeling through papers and the lady i spoke to was just a customer service person doing the bidding for some senior council tax person
  23. Im not sure if this is the corerct approach. I need some advice / help I recently recieved a 7 day warning that the bailiffs are coming to take possession of my goods. The same day I was informed at my work that the council have got an attachment of earnings order. the attachment is for 2005 council tax and the bailiff is for this 2006 and 2007 years council tax. once you miss two payments of the year the council want to know nothing regarding catchup or continue with payments they start with procedings to claim the full amount in one payment. The bailiff is wanting £400 per month untill all is paid and the council £300. total in one go per month = £700. This years council tax starts in April so in effect i am only 4 months in arrears. after the second month the council sent a letter refusing any ferther payment and i am now liable for a one off payment for the full years council tax. If i go down to the council office and pay the arrears 4months and they refuse to accept, i then go to the post office and pay with the new council tax card or pay online. will that put me back in the clear for this years tax and thus getting the bailiff off my back. Throughout this week I have been contacting the council regarding this issue only to be told they will contact me. I am still waiting. If i can avoid the Bailiff i will, I can pay the Council the arrears of this year and double tax each month untill all is up to date but cannot pay £700 for the next 6 - 12 months. I have not made any arrangements with the bailiff office Rundle & co to pay them. I have 3 days left.
  24. All Hail the english I first spoke to our wonderful indian helpdesk who gave me a big speech about the underwriters and it is all my fault and therefor nothing that can be done. I put the phone down and called again this time selecting the lost card option (3) I then spoke to an englishman who admitted it was a bank error and he reset the overdraught. I was going to quote the Monopoly game "bank error in your favour collect 200" but that would be pushing it. Thanks People
