  1. Hi all I to am a sole trader, just coming to the end of my period of free banking with HSBC, now am I right in thinking all of my bank charges will be unlawful as the legitimate charges are free for the first year?
  2. thanksfor theinput guys and the link
  3. Cheers for that, I'm a sole trader so i guess i just follow the tried and trusted consumer action group method of claiming.
  4. Hi Quick question (s) (which I'm sure will have been covered elsewhere but I'm a ludite so please bear with me) is the process of claiming unfair/unlawful bank charges the same for a business account? are there any differences in the way banks deal with business accounts compared to a current account?
  5. Hi Update time I posted my SAR on Feb 22 which is 35days ago and so for I've recieved only March 2006 to March 2007 in the form of paper statements. The statements for 2001 to 2006 have so for not arrived , dispite their letter saying 'we have made arrangements to send you a list archived transactions between 2001 and 2006, under seperate cover' is this normal? What should I do now, remind them of the deadline or wait untill the 40 day dead line as passed ? Re sending a LBA giving them extra time (14 Days) what 'action' am I threatening in this letter?
  6. OK time for a update, I've recieved 5yrs of statements and worked out that I have been charged £1450 in fees !!! these fees are made up of overdraft charges and excess overdraft charges over the 5yrs we had the account, can I claim these fees back? Before I print off the spread sheet, is the 'schedule of claim for charges' simply the period in which the charges were made ie 10 March 2001 to 30 Nov 2006? Also my previous correspondence with First Direct has been to it's Leeds head office, should I continue to use the address or should I send future letters to HSBC's headoffice?
  7. Update, Received acknowlegement from First Direct today, confirming arrangments to send the requested informatiom. This will be sent out as six yrs of statements I should have these in the next few days. Then it will be highlighter pens at the ready and find out exactly how much they have robbed me over the years. Also £10 cheque returned as there is no charge made for supplying the statements, which makes a nice change given all the other charges applied to my account!!
  8. Update, Received acknowlegement from Abbey today, confirming arrangments to send the requested informatiom. This will be sent in two formats, the last 14 months on duplicate statements the rest 2001-2005 are a list of archieved transactions transcibed from microfiiche, I should have these in the next 5-7 days. Also in the letter is mention of 'manual interventions' and how they are not always recorded, do these relate to my claim in any way?
  9. Cheers, Yes it's nice to get things moving and as a 'court novice' it's great to have the support of this forum to help me through the dark days ahead and (hopefully)lead to a postive outcome.
