  1. I managed to get most of my money back - £1,800 from HSBC. Could have been more if I had stuck to my guns, but I decided to settle instead of bailiffs going into my local bank! A letter came after from the banks solicitors offering the full amount , communication not a good point!!! But quite happy. Many thanks to everyones support from this fab website. 2. HELP! Well I am currently in a position at the moment where HSBC did not get back in time to to go to court so I thought I had won by default (judgement was issued) so then I went on to the next step and a warrant of execution was processed. Unfortunately it seems that HSBC sent me a settlement offer letter at the same time of the warrant probably reaching them. So what do I do!!? The settlement was without interest and court expenses and £400 less than what I asked for anyway. Have HSBC offered this too late,as I thought the bailiffs go in and get property up to the value of what they owe me if they don't pay up by the 17th June. Or are they still in a position to not pay anything??? Please help me someone!!! Thanks!
  3. Hi, great website and forum. Trying to read up on lots. I have been with HSBC for about 10 years and they have charged me loads over the years. Will be interesting to see exactly how much. Just posted the letter to HSBC (22.02.07) requesting the last 6 years worth of statements. I used a letter template from the Martin Lewis website for that. Now, I read I had to enclose a cheque for £10, as I have 2 accounts should I have put a cheque for £20??? As I did, was I correct in doing that? Any advice as I start this scary journey would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
  4. Hi, I'm new to this forum. Just set up a parachute account and then posted my first stage letter to HSBC. Slightly nervous! Anyone got any advice with this bank in particular? They have taken so many charges from me over the years, as I have 2 accounts with them and my main concern is, that I deserved maybe a few fines as I'm not brilliant with money!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
