  1. I have since recieved a full set of statements and another list of my charges on A4 in the space of a week! My sister is also with the Halifax and sent her DPA request a few days after I did. They have changed the wording on the letter it now states that a set of statements will arrive in 10 days time.
  2. ARGOS have sent me confusing screengrabs that show the date of the statements that the charges appeared on but not the dates when the charges were made. How impotant is this?
  3. I have just recieved some of my statements on day 40 after I sent my DPA request. 13 of them are missing (pointed out on the covering letter). I am sure there were charges on a few of them. Is there anything I can do about this? GE Money are very difficult to get hold of. I got a call yesterday morning on my mobile asking if all I wanted was the statements. I said yes. They did not tell me they were incomplete. (out of interest the only way they could of got that number was from me emailing [email protected] and [email protected] as I did not put it on my DPA. They did not reply to the emails!) Also how do I calculate the 29.9% interest on the ones I do have? Should I ask for the interest up to when the account went into default and closed in summer 2005 or up to the present? Confused?
  4. I sent my DPA to ARGOS on the 21st of February. I sent it to: Data Protection Manager 489-499 Avebury Boulevard Central Milton Keynes MK9 2NW I not sure that this is the right address? So now after 30 days I thought I would give them a reminder. I sent this email to Argos Card Services via the Argos website: FAO Data Protection Manager I sent a DPA disclosure request to your office on Avebury Boulevard in Milton Keynes. You received this request on the 22nd of February 2007. As you only have 40 days in which to comply your deadline is on Tuesday (the 3rd of April). Failure to meet that deadline could result in an investigation from the Information Commissioners Office. Please advise me as to why this request is taking so long considering you cashed my cheque, the £10 fee, on the 7th of March? Please deal with this as a matter of urgency. Yours Faithfully, Does anyone have the correct address and a direct phone number and an email to the correct department without going through the website? My account went into default over a year ago. It is closed and paid off in full. So I don't have any dialogue with them. Any help much appreciated.
  5. I phoned Customer Services on 014220333880 I taked to Tammy Durkin. She said she was sorry there was nothing enclosed in the letter and it was Halifax Policy not to send statements but to send a printout of the charges. She would treat this as a matter of urgency, I asked how long? She said 7 days. I told her that that did not sound like they were treating my request as a matter of urgency. Two days latter hurrah! I get a list of charges through the post! I would advise people to use the above direct line rather than the automated number.

    daipp v Argos

Good luck with Argos! I sent them a DPA letter a while ago. Do you have a direct phone number for them?
  7. Thank you for the support. You are more than likely right. Still they cashed my cheque 3 weeks ago. I feel like I have paid £10 for another computer generated letter (as it does not answer any of the questions I asked)...
  8. Crumbs! Recieved odd letter from Halifax.... I sent my DPA letter on 05/02/07. I recieved a letter from them (dated 05/03/07) on 08/03/07 stating "please find enclosed statements for the dates specified". There was nothing else in the small C5 size envelope it came in! What is going on? Are the 6 months of statements on microfilm the size of a pinhead inside this envelope? Has this happened to anyone else? Yours, Mr Very Confused...
  9. Hello People... Crumbs... I sent a letter, what I believe to be a PDA disclosure request, to Halifax on the 5th of February (not yet heard back, but they have cashed my £10 cheque) asking for a list of my charges or statements for the past 6 years. Feeling very confident about that, because of the mass media coverage over the past few days, I decided to go further and have now done the same with 2 store cards. Panicing because I was scared that some loophole was about to be found by the banks I did this in a rush this morning. First was my old Argos card/account. Using a bank template letter (that seemed a bit aggressive to begin with) I adapted myself! Not knowing if I found the correct address!? I sent it recorded delivery with £10 cheque (payable to Argos Ltd as I could not determine a financial institution behind them!) at lunchtime. I did the same with an old TopShop account. This was even more confusing as I could not work out if this was GE Capital Bank or GE Money. I sent it to the latter, recorded, with a £10 Postal Order made out to G E Money. Both of these accounts were closed 3 years ago due to me being ill and not being able to make the payments, mainly because of their charges. I was able to pay them back in full before it went to CCJ stage. How do things work in this situation? Have I done the right thing? Thanks for reading my ramblings, Mr Panic!
