  1. Thanks Michael i'll go through the links
  2. Hi, simply put, is it still worth putting in a claim to recover charges from my bank accounts? Or has the OFT case and minor successes LloydsTSB had put the brakes on? thanks in advance
  3. i had a similar one (see my thread earlier today). Lloyds changed my address details then started sending my statements to my ex and my replacement card and pin (i found out when my new card didn't arrive (as i use internet banking i never missed the statements)). i complained, they fixed it then did it again!! they've acknowledged their errors but have only offered 250.00 despite exposing me to identity fraud, and all my financial details to my ex (her maintenance claim has subsequently gone skywards and is keeping me pretty much overdrawn 24/7). when i complained the 2nd time, the cashier at the branch changed it back there and then, but didn't ask me for any identity. Talk about incompetence! best of luck to your friend, let me know how he gets on. rgds rich
  4. Thanks Zippy. appreciate the response. However, They've fully acknowledged they've messed up. It's not purely about compensation, thought that and bad press is all they and their shareholders seem to understand. I've written again to both the chairman and the TWO areas of the same department, neither of which seem to actually communicate with eachother. If anyone else has experiences/opinions or cricitism i'd appreciate the feedback. rgds Rich
  5. Hi, apologies if this is the wrong forum to post. I need some help and assistance. Lloyds bank have now changed my address without my request TWICE. I know how it's happened (brief explanation coming up). 1. established sole bank account (different branch to joint one) 3 years ago. 2. separated from wife, moved and had statements and communications coming to new address 3. estranged wife moved into rented accommodation after selling family home. Bank changed address of joint AND my sole account without asking or indeed informing me. 4. didn't notice lack of statements as I use internet banking. 5. didn't receive replacement card went to branch, discovered they've changed address, sent statements, replacement card and pin to my estranged wife. 6. had to revisit branch to speak to manager who still wasn't aware of the issue and naturally could not resolve 7. estranged wife subsequently moved house again, bank sent me a letter saying they've changed my sole account address again. 8. visited branch again, had a go at the woman behind the desk who without asking for any proof of id, changed the address again to the correct one. 9. visited manager again, who had previously assured me that this could not happen. obviously he couldn't resolve again and has passed it to the customer services recovery team. I've now had 8 separate letters from the csr team in both birmingham and bristol who despite admitting to the errors have not really apologised and have offered me 250.00 compensation. I've now been including the chairman (mr eric daniels) in all my letters in reply they've cost me in loss of earnings through having to visit the branch (at no time was the complaint resolved). they've cost me financially as they've provided my estranged wife with financial information she had no right to and has subsequently upped her maintenance demands so i'm now permanantly overdrawn. and they've acknowledged they've caused me distress. so... the help i need, is where next? I can obviously go to the informations commissioner, FSA and FSO but you always have this belief that they don't really want to help you. any advice, comments and/or criticism welcome. thanks for listening to the rant but i'd appreciate your thoughts. regards rich
  6. Thanks Nattie, i believe i was supposed to get the original statement of the joint account and she would receive a duplicate and indeed this did happen last year.. obviously stopping when Lloyds gave away ALL my details. thanks again
  7. Hi, I'll try to keep it brief. The upshot is that LloydsTSB (where i've been a customer all my banking life) started sending my statements (to my personal bank account) to my estranged wife after she changed address. This happened in September 06. Why did i only discover it last week? Mainly because I do my banking online and didn't notice the lack of statements. I did however notice the lack of a replacement card (which led me to confirm early last week where the bank had sent it). The longer version? I moved out of the family home over 3 years ago and asked my bank manager to create a new (separate) account for me. This was done at a different branch (obviously with a different sort code). I was a business banking customer at the time and rang my "banking manager" to confirm that I wanted statements and all correspondence to my personal bank account to come to me and stated categorically that no details were to be disclosed to any other person. Things were ok until my estranged wife moved last september. Since then I've been getting requests for more money to such an extent that i'm constantly going over my agreed overdraft (which Lloyds charge me 90.00 for the privellege against a 5.00 overspend - but that's another story) I went into my local branch to enquire about my replacement card last week. Found out that this was all happening and promptly told them i wat wanted an appointment with the branch manager later that week. I turned up at the branch (having taken a day off work to do so) only to find that the branch manager was not fully aware of the nature of my complaint. I did keep calm and at the most obvious question of "what is it you're looking for" I stated I wanted the details to be put right and that I was now financially out of pocket. He agreed to call me 2 days ago to arrange another meeting and discuss their response. I received a letter yesterday (having not received a call) offering me 50.00 as a goodwill gesture and that is really about as much as they're prepared to do. However, I'd like your opinions on what to do next. I know for a fact if i asked for details of my ex-wife's savings account that I would not get them. so why is it different for me? I've been banking with Lloyds over 25 years now. Still have a business account (though lapsing as i'm not trading any more). I started my personal account precisely so i could end up keeping some of my earnings. Since Lloyds divulged my information i'm basically threatened with not seeing my child unless i'm paying practically all my salary over. (well, love is blind isn't it?) so here i am, going over my agreed overdraft as a consequence of Lloyds giving out information that I had been assured was personal to me. the joint account is where i pay into (I don't and haven't drawn any money off that account since we parted). The one thing is if they can do it to me (a business customer, personal customer, joint customer, Insurance customer etc etc) then what do they do to people who haven't supposedly got a relationship with them? sorry to ramble on. but thanks again All comments welcome (including the obvious ones telling me i was stupid to not check my paper statements). Thanks in advance Richard
