  1. Hi we are a small independent travel agents and had a new member of satff working for us. She went onto the Thomson Fly website and put in to fly from Leeds Bradford. Teh search engine displayed a flight and teh memeber of staff went through to book it. It was only at the end she realised that the fligth was actaully from Doncaster. I phoned Thomsons immediately adn they refused to do anything about it. I know they are a non refundable airline but so are Jet2 however if you contact them within 24 hours of making the booking they will cancel it for you. We have written several letters and have had not response various e-mails of which one it took 2 weeks for a reply and a string of different phone number with each person saying that they do not deal with it and insist that there are no senior members of staff working there. They are a shambles to say the least and this as cost us over £400 . What can we do? Any help please. Alyson
  2. Hi guess someone has already answered this. I have claimed for £2841 and the Halifax has sent back a reply offereing me £1241. What action do I take now? I dont want to settle for this as they took the money off me when I was on benefits and left me with nothing. Are there any templates for this refusing to accept?
  3. Firstly can I claim charges back from GMAc or online finance? Secondly have already posted this but havent had a reply am getting desperate. GMAC have passed a so called debt onto DLC debt collectors. I voluntarily terminated my agreement after paying pver 7000 for a peugeot 206. I had to pay 50% of the finance or 4900 and I was free to return the car. They are now trying to claim back 454 for repairs to the car. By the way the car was collected when I was at work and not at an agreed time and so I didnt even get chance to sign any papers and secondly the debt is for over £1000 and DLC are refusing to tell me what the other £650 is for. Where do I stand in all this. Some of the repairs they are claiming needed to be done are just g eneral wear and tear but they also reckon the bumper was damaged and the door was dinted well the door was dinted when I bought it and as far as I know there wasnt any damage done to the bumper when I had it. The woman at DLC practically called me a liar even though the paper is there in black and white without a signature on it. I cannot speak to a manager and they refuse to help me just telling me I have to pay up or else!!
  4. Hi i posted a thread earlier but still need advice. I bought a car using GMAC or online finance as they call it. I then after three years voluntarily terminated the agreement. I was entitled to do this after I had paid 4950 I had paid£7154 altogether. I was told that would be it I would not have to pay anything else. Mannheim auctions who were collecting the car were supposed to telephone me prior to seting off to collect the car so that either myself or my father could be there to sign for the cars relsease. They came and collected the car whilst I was at work. They now claim that there was a long list of repairs that total £454 but I did not sign anything when they took the car away to say that I agreed that the things they are claiming needed repairing were actually wrong with the car. Also DLC now reckon I owe £1150. They have sent me a copy of my agreement and copy of the repair sheet but cannot or rather will not explain where the other £700 comes from. I spoke to a very rude woman on Friday who practically called me a liar when I said that I didnt sign for the car even thought the sheet is there in black and white with no signature on it and said that if I paid £500 then they would settle it, but what exactly am I paying for. No one will answer me and they refuse to put me through to a manager as I have not been dealing with her even though the letter is signed by the team leader. I've tried to get in touch with a solicitor but it is going to cost me over £250 for the pleasure. Can anyone offer me advice please
  5. Have spoken to halifax this morning re claim. They informed me that I was in the queue to have my claim dealt with. I tasked them about this 8 week thing and they claim that the financial ombudsman have given them an 8 week time limit but I bet if they get an LBA they'll get a bloody move on. I hate the HaLIFAX. WHen I was doing my teacher training i was income support and a single parent with twin boys they took all my benfits one week to pay for their stupid bank charges, so dont worry I'm going to make sure they pay up. Thanks for reply
  6. I have received a letter from the halifax within the 14 day limit i have given them. They told me that they have 8 weeks in which to look in to my complaint. Is this true or should I carry on to the LBA letter.
  7. I voluntarily terminated my agreement with them. I have since been in touch with GMAC who say that the charges are for repairs to the car. They faxed the report to me and there were things on there liked a bump in the door and a broken bumper which were definately not wrong with the car. When they came to collect the car, there was no-one in and so consequently took the car away without a signature on the inventory. Where do I stand with this?
  8. I hate Carcraft and GMAC. I bought an S reg Peugeot nearly 4 years ago. I accrued some arrears whilst at uni but paid them off. Having paid over half the amount I owed them I asked GMAC if I could return the car as it says in the agreement you can. They said yes and I owed them nothing further in fact I had paid nearly two thousand more than the car was worth. They took the car off my path one day whilst I was at work and nothing was ever signed. I now have a deby collection agency after me for over £800 I contacted GMAC and they said it was for a long list of repairs needed to the car. I didnt sign anything to say what condition the car was in when they took it and know that half of the things were general wear and tear and the other things werent there when I owned the car. They rtook the car in July and have only just satrted to pursue the debt. Can they do this? Anybody help:mad:
