  1. Just done a quick calculation and if correct there really is no point in me repaying early as I think it will still amount to £10,000 on the £5,000 loan. because it only goes down to £107.66 on every £100 after 30 months of paying. I always thought that when you re-payed early you would just have to pay just under what you borrowed. I dont even know why the loan was taken out over 10 yrs its more like a mortgage, I thought you could choose your repayment terms but we weren't even offered, so unless you dont then. The worst thing is, shortly after we got the loan I successfully claimed against halifax. Why didnt I find this site earlier.
  2. Hi Midge Well my loan has only been going about 7-8 months and I know I have made 2 late payments so I know I will have a few charges there. Im hoping to release some equity on my house in 6 months time hopefully my credit report will look better then and with part of it I plan to get rid of Blemain scumbags. Ive heard of other companies putting the SAR fee on to ppls account instead of using it for its proper purpose. Its disgusting that TS and fsa and places like that offer no help, then again its not surprising as thats all I ever seem to read about them, on issues all over this site. Fair enough they cant go on 1 persons complaint but surely the amount of complaints they get from ppl should make them take some sort of action.
  3. Hi all, me and my b/f took out a loan as we were swamped with debt from bank charges and feared we would lose our house, so we took out a loan with blemain finance. (If only i found this site earlier) Anyway the agent came out and my b/f spoke to him, I was really ill in bed at the time so my b/f had to bring papers up to me, the agent said he should witness all signings, but he didnt really mind. Anyway as we were desperate with being behind on our mortgage we just signed all. Its been a couple of months now and I just found the copy of proposed agreement and also a signed (by us) legal charge. Obviously I now realise that they have mass control over us and our house is at risk with them now if we miss payments. I dont see why we had to sign this legal charge as we have other secured loans and had no dealing with this company before. Also I was told I had to sign the loan to have a better chance of it going through even though I didnt put any of my income down and it was all based on my b/f income. Even though we were desperate I might of reconsidered if the legal charge had of been explained to me. (I mean if I was ever unfortunate enough to lose my house I would prefer it to be to the bank and not for some loan) When i told my b/f about it he was as suprised as me. On the letter I now see it says (you should take independant legal advise before signing) but the agent came round at about 7-8pm at night, and with me being ill in bed my b/f just did as he said. I know there is probably nothing i can do but paying back £10,785.03 for a £5,000 loan just feels like we were a bit ripped off. Anyway sorry to go on everyone. Im sure they are under three names on my b/f credit report one is (Blemain Group) who we got the loan from so thats fine, but then theres (Future Mortgages- Dean House) obviously we know dean house is associated or part of them. Forgot the third. Also on some-ones earlier thread I think he linked his (copy of proposed credit agreement) well mine is same as his, except in his (other financial information box) I have been charged a £200.00 acceptance fee. Well Im just going to get a CCA in post I think.

Hi Gyzmo thanks for your reply. He said at the time he had to fill in some folder thing, Im presuming this must have been another CCA so Im going to get him to either go in to the store and ask if they have it or just send off for a copy of what he signed. The only trouble is I dont know if they will only send a copy of the CCA he signed for to originally get his argos card. You wouldnt happen to know if what he signed for, for the suite will be under another name or am I right in thinking its another CCA. I know it has took along time to realise but I know its a defo interest opt out plan for 2yrs, so surely they are breaking the terms by not sticking to thier agreement. I will wait obviously just to see paperwork to be completely sure, but if Im right does that mean what he signed will be invalid?
  6. Hi all I have just printed off a letter to send to halifax for my CCA for a loan me and my b/f took out in Sept. 2005 so copying the address at the top I realised the postcode was the same as capital bank, I know this because I have just had car finance charges refunded from them. Anyway I know you can be on the same street etc. but on the halifax letter it states -City Road followed by Chester CH88 3AN. Cap. Bank states- Charterhall Drive Chester CH88 3AN. Now am I just being thick here or is it strange a ROAD and a DRIVE can have the same post code?

Hi all, my b/f took out a card with argos and bought a suite he had a 2 year Interest free plan but he has recieved interest on every single statement which is 4 months off being paid off is there anything he can do? I also had a buy it now pay 3 months later but they started charging me the 1st month after so i ended up getting charged so is there anything I can do also? Thankyou.
  8. I was about to buy a tv from these idiots for £750 but with opt. service cover and DLC the price went to £1850. I said there is no way im payin these, and to remove them. They said bring in your home insurance stating contents cover and you can, so b/f took in insurance docs and they said no because it doesnt state hp items covered I told b/f thats bull because if anything went wrong insurance would pay thats what its there for. He told them this and they agreed to take off opt. s. cover. So price was £1650 I still said no way I want DLC removing but they said that is just not possible yet it clearly states in t+c it is. Just a bunch of con artists praying on and lying to the vunerable who dont know any better. Needles to say cancelled and ripped up agreement. Just wish I could teach them some proper customer service though.
  9. Hi 120805, Im in a similiar start position to you im about to send off for my CCA and am hoping they dont have one as its a debt I can no longer afford plus i have been defaulted to. How far along are you now because ive done a lot of reading on here and it said they had the 12 days, then 30 days after that, if the CCA is still no produced you win, even if they do go to court and produce it if its after the timescale above you still win because they have defaulted. Also you can claim all the monies you have paid to them as with no CCA there is no legal aggreement why you should have paid them or why they have took your money. Ive read on here about ppl doing just that. Anyway good luck but with all their stalling it would seem there is no CCA.
  10. Hi spring, Im about to do crap one next I think I will try your idea to let them know how much they could have to pay if the drag it out, Im going for default removal to, but reading ppls threads they must just like having to pay extra, leaving it to court stage when they would pay less if they just settled sooner especially as they know they are eventually going to pay up. (more of "our" money than sense).
  11. Hi spring you havent sent off a letter to them yet have you? You only claim 8% at court stage, and not before as it says on a thread from bankfodder, as they will then know you dont know what your doing. At the start all you send is your preliminary with your scheduale of charges. Im sure your not the first if you have but i think you should re-send your prelim and schedule minus the 8% interest.
  12. Hi thanks for that BBM will send letter for CCA straight away. By the way well done just read your threads, am going to send CCA to everyone I have credit it with and hopefully mistakes will have been made. Thanks.
  13. Hi dont know if you can help me but when I moved in to my house june 2003 I recieved my council tax bill and was told I had to pay for the full year because I couldnt just pay for half the year, but I cant see how thats right as I didnt live in the property 6 months previous so why did I have to pay for a year when it should of only been 6 months? I cant think it meant paying upfront as I had no debt as this was a house id just bought so is it right I had to pay that and if yes why? Thanks.
  14. Hiya thanks for that we thought about just doing that to.
  15. Hi just a quick question I told my sis I would help her get her charges back, so her statements finally arrived and only go back the six years, but she said on her statements she has the normal 'interest debit notified last month' and before/after everyone of these has a 'charges as notified' for £5 now these only go back to 2001 surely charges were not only that much? Im only used to £39, £28, £30. So does anyone have any ideas what these are or was that the charge amount in 2001?
