  1. Click on CONSUMER ACTION GROUP at the top of the page, scroll down to bank templates library, then no.6 is the interest calculator. I chose the easy one does it all for you and you don't need to be a genius
  2. I meant to mention the fact that when i started this i got my letter templates of another sight before i found this one, I think i may have confused myself
  3. The first letter i wrote was this; I am writing to request that you repay all the default charges that have been applied to my account. I do not believe these charges reflect the true cost to Abbey National of going into unauthorised overdraft. The charges total £1959.00, plus as I believe I have been unlawfully deprived of the money I have calculated £222.39interest at the statutory rate, the amount the court will award. I therefore ask that you repay me the full amount of £2181.39. I have attached a full schedule of the charges and interest with this document. I look forward for a full response to this letter within 14 days. I know about the English address (but thanks for the info) i have got information about getting one of another thread on this site. Any more help would be great though
  4. I have sent the letter to abbey requesting the charges be paid back, the 14 days are nearly up now and was wondering if someone could advise as to my next stage. Do i file at the court before sending the next letter (which states the courts name in it) or do i send the letter and wait for a response before filing at court? Meant to say, I am from Scotland and will be filling in an English court, i am hoping to file at Carlise court can i do this on line at the moneyclaim online?
  5. Hi i'm looking for an address to get statements from the following credit card companies please; Aqua Vanquis Sky Needing to get my statements, not sure if i should just send a letter to the address on my recent statement or do i need a data protection address like with the bank?
  6. I may sound a bit dense but what is an SAR?
  7. I recently paid of the finance on my car, but during the time i had the finance i recieved numerous charges, some were for returned DD but these were always usually paid in person on the same day or within a couple of days of it being returned. Other charges included a rediculous amount for them sending me a letter. Can any one let me know if it is possible to claim these back and does anyone know about 'front loaded interest', this was added just prier to me making the last few payment, i was not informed about it prier to it going on nor at the begining of the contract, as i paid over £200 interest at the begining did not think there was any more.

    Bank charges

thanks just been reading The Civil Jurisdiction and Judgments Order 2001 in this it states that you may take the company to court in the country which there head office is in, providing it states nothing about it in the terms and conditions from the bank. since abbey's head office is in london i should be within my rights to take them to court in england which is what i plan to do if it goes that far.
  10. I have just been and looked at this (The Civil Jurisdiction and Judgments Order 2001) according to this official document if the head office of your bank is in england you are within your rights to take them to an english court, providing the terms and conditions from your bank does not state other wise. I myself am from scotland and the amount i wish to claim back is roughly £2000, i am hoping to put in one claim with the hope of it not going to court, but if it does i am hoping to file with the nearest court to me below the border. (It does mean travelling there if need be).

    Bank charges

I have recieved my bank statements and am now at the next stage. I am from scotland and what i want know is if anyone else from scotland has claimed back there charges from the abbey. I'm a bit confused about the court thing as scottish small claims courts only hand out upto £750 and my claim is for nearly £2000, i am hoping it won't go to court but am just thinking ahead about what to do. Any other helpful advice would be great, cheers
