  1. Hiya guys something strange has just happened and need your input on this one. My FD account has been closed and i ve been dealing with DG Solicitors( i think they are the solicitors for hsbc) and through the Citizen Advice Beaureau debt management we agreed a token payment of £1 per month. On the 12th february sent my S.A.R. to FD and today i received a letter from DG Solicitor sayin that the repaiment agreed on 16/11/06 has now expired and we require an increase in your payment. Well I am heavily in debt and thats what i can afford. What should i do?

If this is a mere consolation i am in the same boat as you are and as such i am waiting for them to contact me the initial 14 days are up yesterday so now i will count another 28 and then i will probably write to them. My initial debt was with barclaycard... barclaycard passed it on to mercers(DCA) who sent it back to barclaycard. After that i had Moorcroft, DebtManager, Call Serve ltd and everytime i sent a CCA request they all default it and one calendar month after that they sell this debt on to someone else. I am intrigued to find out who is going to be next! Chin up and remember thanks to this forum WE are the enpowered.
  3. Mrs Phonesurgeon is taking barclaycard to the cleaner. S.A.R (subject access request) will be sent on monday. Q1) When she originally signed the agreement she used her maiden name, when we got married she rang barclaycard to let them know that and they issued her a new card, she has not signed another agreement in her new name. Can Mercers(DCA) still enforce the debt against her? (feel a bit silly asking that, but it needs to be answered)

  5. hey guys i need some advice on what to do next. Sent a S.A.R(subject access request) on 12/02 and also an harassment letter for the phone calls. Sent an even stronger letter complaining yet again about the frequency and amount of calls on 17/02. Didn't hear from them since, today i ve received a letter from debitas demanding the outstanding amount of £404 on a £200 card! I still haven't received my statement so what should i do now? Please help!
  6. yes basically that's the harsh truth. when the phone is sent for repairs what usually happens is that the new version of the software get "flashed" (installed) on the phone meaning that everything stored on the phone is lost. if that does not fix the fault then phones 4 u sends the phone to samsung lab for the proper repairs to be carried out. The people working at phones 4 u are sales assistants who do not know anything about phones, same as carephone and warehouse(anouther happy [edited])

  8. A year or so ago i had an account with my local halifax and i was getting charged at the rate of £28.00 for almost anything(cheque bounced, dd not sent etc) and so i closed it because of that. Can i actually claim all them charges back even if the account has been closed by me? if so how do i go about it?
  9. Received a letter from First Direct stating that they will oblige with my request and they will send all the statement and note via courier FREE OF CHARGE. They returned my postal order and stated that should i need more info/help gladly get in touch with them. Of course i will be in touch with them when i total up all the charges. Watch this space i will keep you posted.
  10. I bought a fiat punto 1.2 active back in august 2004(a 53 reg) after having all sorts of problems(rectified under warranty) including head gasket failure(on a 53 plate i never heard of). The query i have is with the famous red key, that i never had with my car. In the owner handbook it clearly state the procedure for starting the car in an emergency(i.e. when the immobiliser has kicked in) and it mentiones either the red key or a code. I never received either and went back to the dealership where i bought from only to be told that from july 2003 fiat does not supply either of them (mine's registered in september 2003) and in that case they would have to send a tow-truck to get my car in their garage and in the meantime they need to apply for the code directly from fiat. Here is where it gets interesting. I spoke with a guy at fiat uk in slough and he told without any doubt that the code and/or the key should have been supplied to me at the time of purchase, but the dealer state exactly the contrary. I have tried to complain about this to fiat uk only to be told that this sort of complain should be dealt at local stage(i.e. the dealer had to "deal" with this issue) but they refuse shifting responsability to fiat uk. Can anyone help?

  12. Sent my S.A.R.(subject access request) in today i am now waiting to hear from them. Also sent the harassment letter for the milions phone calls received. They will know now i mean business. will keep you all posted

So here it goes...Sent my S.A.R.(subject access request) this morning recorded delivery(of course) with a £10 postal order(i don't have a cheque book) and, although i am claiming money that the bank ripped me out of, i can't hide the fact that i was very nervous. Infact when i was filling in the details for recorded delivery, my heart was pounding in my throath and my hand was shaking uncontrollably, so much so that the nice lady at my local post office did that for me. Anyway the news has sank in now and i feel confident. i have all the letters and the step by step.... At the same time my wife did the same with capital one card, but thats another story..... will keep you posted

Don't want the state the obvious but thats what liquid damage does, it sounds like the battery had short-circuited and took the screen with it. if you have any phone shop(indipendent that carry out repairs) near you its worth a visit to see if you can download the content from the phone. the sharps are a pain in the ace (pardon my french!) regarding repairs as the minute you take them apart you need to reset the software. Anyway thank you for your aknowledgement and i will try to contribute as much as can on telecomms. By the way tomorrow i am going to send my first S.A.R. to first direct and i will post in the relevant section.
  16. I might be mistake but i think they can actually do that as if you read the small print you will find that for the first 12 month they "lend" you the phone and you will acquire ownership only after the 12th month. i hope i am right
  17. Hello everyone i am fearly new here and i though i'd introduce myself. As the username suggest i work with mobile phones repairing unlocking i also work with insurance companies and of course the service providers, saying that i would like to state that i am indipendent and as such i acn provide some inside info not all service providers would like you to know. As a warning BEWARE OF CAREPHONE WAREHOUSE and if i can help drop me a line.
  18. Congrats on your result i just wanted to add that the fault that you were describing cannot be user error as it is a common hardware fault with most newer sony-ericsson. do not let them fob you off next time. if i could be of any advice next time give me a shout
  19. Hi all i am a newbie here so greeting to all of you. I am alex and to my amazement and disbelief i have received a staggering 103 calls from capital one from monday morning 9.07 am till today(9/02/07) 17.20. i actually told em they are breaching the protection from harrasment act 1997 but they don't seem to think so. i am paying bt for the choose to refuse options but for as many number i block a lot more suddenly appears i am at a complete loss here. please any help would be appreciated.
