  1. It may seem ignorant but it works. If you live in such building you just take P.. off them and deal with the councill. This way you get them headache, not yourself. Go to "Holiday", rent the flat to a foreign friend, not speaking any english and so on. I know how it sounds but it actually works and gives you time to deal with the real debt instead of some honks:).
  2. Well, interesting. Just, why are you consumer_justice only advising to pay the assumed debt? Can we have any advise about how not to pay:) I mean obviously if you have to pay you have to. but there is so many cases not finished by the council and already passed to bailiffs just to scare people. That's most annoying.
  3. How about the Statutory thingy? Should I do it first, at the same time or otherwise? I haven't sent it yet, just want to get my ducks lined up.
  4. Thanks. This is brilliant. Should I fill form 4 straight away then or wait for the answer from Northampton?
  5. As far as I understand SoD is there is the autority didn't keep the popper procedure. In this case they sent me Order for recovery 3 months after the contravention and this was the first when I learned about it. After that I asked them to see proof of the above but was sent a letter instead stating that I can pay £** within two weeks from (insert date here). I sent another letter with no luck untill 20.05 when I got a letter from Task asking me to pay £72. I then sent two further letters to TfL the last one a week ago but no answer again. I think this should be enough to fill SoD? As for the breakdown: Debt/penalty charge notice £60 Letter £14.70 Visit fee £28 Attendance to remove goods £120 Levy fee £100 Immobilisation fee £50 Vat on enforcement costs £46.38 Total £419.08
  6. Well, it's her vehicle and I'm the driver, thats how it is. However Transport for London doesn't care who drives the vehicle, they charge the owner so the bailiff came to see her. That's not really the point now, the point is money has been paid and need to be recovered. I'm planing to fill Statutory out of time on the ticket and this should work as the alleged offense was on 11/11/2008 and I received 1st letter about it on 02/09. They keep on delaying. I just don't know how to cope with the bailiff company. Should I start with form 4 straight away?
  7. It is, however due to parking restriction it's registered to my girlfriend. I appear on the insurance, but it's social use only. Thanks for your replies.
  8. Hi all. I had a bailiff at my doorstep this morning after he clamped my vehicle. I paid him £420 as I needed to use the van there and then. The question is the warrant was against a camera ticket which I was trying to appeal to TfL but was having problems with communication. Last letter sent to them was on 13.07.2009. Obviously the bailiff didn't want to hear anything (how surprisingly). Now I've got the payment recipt, debit card slip, Notice of seizure and copy of warrant of execution. What is the best way to get my money back? Thanks.
  9. Thanks for your time Fwog. Well probably I can, but what will I achieve with this? All I need at the moment is my money back and peace of mind that this will not happen any more. The whole problem is about three tickets from Islington Council which I contested straight after receiving them. At some stage (and as a person working in the area I can say) It was the worst place to leave your vehicle, I once got a ticket sitting in the vehicle with engine on waiting for my passenger to get off:) and at that stage they were just saying that "not everybody appeals... Write to the council and they will cancel the ticket. Anyway I contested a million tickets with some luck, some of them I had to pay and these three I just never received any answer. I already wrote to the council once again and I am waiting for them to answer. We'll see. Cheers!
  10. Cheers for your answer Ambershadow. Anyone else? The problem I'm having here is that I was looking for a similar case but haven't found anyone as "not intelligent" as me to pay and then cry. Also I had a personal meter which I had to attend where there was no internet connection whatsoever and that stopped me for a week from undertaking any action. I don't want to do it myself as when I did last time it was really costly:( Anyway I hope one of the smart people on the forum will find a moment to help me out. Thanks a lot!
  11. Hi All! Recently I had a rather unpleasant meeting with the above bailiff. I was driving my van to work and giving a lift to the tube station to my flat-mate when I was stopped by the Police (sic!), pulled over and brought to the bailiff. The police checking my vehicle in the meantime. I was told that the vehicle will be towed away if I don't pay almost £2k at that very moment. They justified the amount with three parking tickets. The behaviour of both the three police officers and the bailiff around me reminded ma of first year at school and bully boys as read few times around the forum. Obviously I didn't have that amount but my flat-mate offered payment of £1k with her debit card. It all went through, they let me go and asked to pay the outstanding amount within a week. Later that day I realised that I sent letters to the council regarding those tickets and never got any answers from them. It was about two years ago. Also I came back to the Forum just to realize that they couldn't legally take my car away as it belongs to my flat-mate. The thing is that it was all confirmed by the police officers standing there all the time. Even when I asked them if its legal they confirmed that it is:). Now as the week has passed and I spent the time reading the forum searching for a similar case as mine I begun to worry if they will not come and really take the vehicle. Also they can came with the police just to force me to open the door. Please tell me what I can do to avoid this and also if there is any way to get the money back as I have to pay it back. I also think it is some pennies too much to charge £400 fees for a ticket which is £150 especially if there was no other contact made in between times. I will be very greatfull for any support! Jerry P.s. I hope you can read this and it all makes sense. In case of any doubts please ask a question. English is not my first language and despite me making all possible effort to learn I'm still not able to write as I wish. Cheers!
