  1. Hi guys, I'm just in the process of claiming from HSBC, so once that's done I'll be working on the Co-Op. My only issue is that I have to have a Co-Op bank account as part of my contrtact, if they pay me the charges back and close the account I could lose my job!! I do have a Smile account also, which my wages are paid into and I'm concerned they may close both of them, as Smile is part of the Co-Op bank! Work paid me wrong for over 10 months and I had over £300 pounds of charges, which were all refunded. However I have at least that again on top, if not more. I have a simila
  2. Well, called the Roayl Mail's recorded delivery service and it seems HSBC received my prelim letter yesterday - I assume the 14 days includes weekends? Also, I originally asked for them to send me a copy of all my credit card statements in my originial DPA request. They ignored that and only sent my my current account details - I have far more charges on my credit card!! hehe. I included in the letter that it was a second request of my first request!! I'll let you know what happens!!
  3. Sorry about this, not relevant but I need to contact one of the "supervisors" of this forum - how do I do it? I have looked everywhere, but can't find anyway of contacting them. The problem is I started a thread called "Claim Started" but for some reason I can't get back into it - I have been trying for days and just left IE to load it, but 2 hours later still hadn't shown it. I started a new thread but they have now added to my original thread and thus I cannot access it. Any ideas? Thanks, Un1boy
  4. Hey Guys, Just to let you, I've just sent my Premlin letter off to HSBC asking for £442.50, sent recorded delivery. We'll see what they have to say. I'll keep you posted, of course. Thanks for all your help and advise guys! Un1boy MOD NOTE: THREADS MERGED - You have been advised about this before - If you start a new thread again it will be closed.
  5. OK, thanks for the info. I'm pretty new to all this forum stuff so ur advise is much appreciated! Thanks
  6. Hey guys, I have just worked out all my charges and now want to send the preliminary letter. I have read through the FAQ's etc but an confused. What figures do I put in the letter and do I include the 8% interest charge in the preliminary letter? After that letter has been sent, I guess they'll write to me saying they agree or they don't? I've calcualted I'm owed just over £500, which I'm surprised at really as I thought it would be a bigger amount. Any advise would be gratefully received. Thanks
  7. hey, All sorted now, thanks fella! Thanks
  8. I have done, couldn't fin anything about it - I'll take another look!! Thanks
  9. What's the LBA letter and where do you get it from?! Thanks.
  10. Hi there, I am just completing calculating my charges from the statements I have been sent. When this has been done, which letter do I send? I'm thinking of sending this one: ____________________________ your address] [their address] [date] Request for repayment of charges Dear Sir/Madam, ACCOUNT NUMBER: xxxxxxxxx My request I am writing to ask you to refund to me the charges which you have levied from my account over the last XXXX years. I now understand that the regime of fees which you have been applying to my account in re
  11. Thanks OC, I'll get reading!
  12. Hi guys, I may be being thick here, but everyone keeps talking about reading the faq's!! Where are they? Thanks,
  13. Yeh, I guess you're right - what I meant was, it would be interesting to see when the annual profit statements are realeased how they compare to the previous, what with the amount of people that are now claiming - if they are less, then clearly they are making profits from the charges!!
  14. Hey, Thanks for this - I've just realised that there is already a post to this question. I'm fairly new to all this, bu tI'm getting the hang of it now. Don't you think it'll be interesting to see how the banks' profits are effected by all these claims?
  15. When HSBC wrote back to me they said "Manual Intervention would have happened at such times as your account being opened, or when any counter deposits/withdrawals have been made." They haven't actually given me any information regarding the manual intervention - how important is this information and should I write back asking for it? If so, what exactly am I asking for?!
  16. Hi Guys, Just to keep you informed on what I'm doing/how it's all coming along: I sent the original letter to HSBC asking for a full list of charges/statemetns and I included a £10 cheque to cover the DPA costs. They have replied and are sending me all my statements in batches through the post, of which I have now nearly got them all. They have even sent my cheque back saying they are "happy to waive any charges incurred." - talk about trying to butter me up! I am going through the statements and entering the charges into the calculator ready to send my claim letter.
