  1. Aarrgghh The SAR doesn't apply to business accounts? should i just call and request the information??
  2. Thanks Slick - i had a feeling they were hiding something in there - there were so many unpaids and no charges visible - another cheeky way of the banks hiding them i suppose. I'll make the SAR today - thanks again for all your advice. Bex x
  3. Thanks for coming back to me Slick. I don't have this breakdown of charges - they must have been thrown away (too trusting eh). This is the info that i'm after though - so should i ask for copies of the quarterly advance notification of charges in my SAR. Thank you
  4. Hi Slick I've been doing a little more thinking over this commission charges thing, it's really eating at me lol. In the early days (2001ish) they used to specify what their commission charges were on the statements, they don't do this since 2003ish days. I think i want to write and ask them for a break down as it's obviously information they hold and i think that this is where they are hiding all the a/c control fees or returned direct debit info. I have my original statments and so i'm going to send an SAR but i'd like to specify that this is exactly what i am after and wondered if you had any suggestions on how to word it? I know HSBC do a similar thing with their "total charges" and that business customers are having to find out what this is in order to reclaim their charges so i think it could be a similar situation Thanks Slick - i really appreciate your help here - it's new territory for me
  5. Thanks Cellicaman, I'll stick the £130 in and see what goes. The 5 x a/c control fees were listed under a break down of commission charges - am i ok to claim these? they were the only comission charges that were itemised - after this it just says comission charges and i'm bothered that they're hiding more a/c control fees in there? Is there any way i can request this information? or do i just go with everything else. Really appreciate your help - thank you
  6. Hi No i haven't posted on barclays business - i couldn't seem to find it? OK, i have 3 barclays accounts in front of me. we'll use no1 as an example if that's ok (this is the one with the least statements and seems the simplest to get my head around)? this account has 10 unpaid out charges specified ranging from Oct 03 - May 07. There is also a charge for overdraft lending fee of 130 (not sure if this is recoverable?) The renewal fees are as follows: 02/02/07 50.00 28/11/06 100.00 27/03/05 50.00 17/03/05 50.00 10/01/05 130.00 There is a note on the statement in 2003 saying please note that from dec 2003 the account control fee (charged on each occasion an account exceeds an agreed overdraft limit or goes overdrawn by more than £100 without agreement) will be renamed the paid referral fee. Now reading this, right at the beginning - when the account was opened - the commission charges were broken down and i now see that one paid in september included 5 a/c control fees of £12 - so i am assuming this is reclaimable and they've hidden the rest of the costs this way?? One commission charges for example includes: Comission charges 5/06 - 1/096 auto entries [email protected] standard entries [email protected] maintenance fee 7.50 a/c control fee @ 12.00 There are also commission charges - not broken down - but i am told these are not reclaimable? Appreciate any help / advice you can offer - thanks
  7. Doh Here's another - i know i told you i had an idea - turns out i was wrong Overdraft lending fee?
  8. I know the answer to this is going to be but i'll ask anyway Commission charges are service charges and so they are not reclaimable?
  9. I think so - the only thing that i'm a bit bothered about is the overdraft interest? It's quite high so well worth claiming back i think.... am sure there's a good spreadsheet somewhere to help me with this though? Thank you
  10. Thanks Slick I've just looked thru that link. I think we'll continue but ignore the renewal fee. I just called one of the no win no fee companies for advice and they say it's a service charge - i'd love to know how it's calculated but never mind eh? Thanks again
  11. Ok thanks.... It's wild how the fee varies so much but so be it i suppose.
  12. Hi Wonder if anyone can help with info about claiming from a business account. I've read through the basics and am happy with the process, but am a little confused as to some of the charges. On the statement i'm looking at i have a renewal fee of £2000 and at another point in time i have a renewal fee of £150 - what is this and is it reclaimable? Thanks
  13. Hi I'm just looking into helping a friend reclaim the charges on a barclays business account. I now we can claim the paid referral fees, but can anyone tell me about something listed as a renewal fee? it ranges from £50 to £2000. TIA
  14. Hi I'm just about to start another one at court With everything that's happened in birmingham court, i'd rather file at tamworth- there's only about a mile difference between the 2 from where i live so i can't see why the courts would have any issues with it. Tamworth is a county court dealing with civil - is this all ok? TIA
  15. Thanks Barty Will post this morning
  16. Hi Again The letter has finally come from the solicitors. The offer is £100 (the AQ fee) short. I'm not really fussed about this tbh, i'd rather just take the money. However, the offer letter lists the following conditions which i'm really not sure we should be accepting. Does he just cross them out before returning them or will that make them withdraw their offer?? Conditions are. 1. The amount will be credited to df lloyds tsb account - fine with this 2. The payment is in full and final settlement - fine with this 3. The terms of this agreement are confidential to the parties and their legal representatives 4. You agree to maintain your accounts with the bank within your agreed limits and in accordance with the terms that govern the account 5. You can avoid these fees in future if you agree an increase in your overdraft with the bank before you try and make payments that would take you over any previously agreed limits. If you do not do so, you will again incur these fees 6. You make contact with your local lloyds tsb branch manager on .... to arrange a review of your account. The bank wishes to avoid further situations which give rise to disputes. A review may be useful to consider whether your current banking arrangements are the most appropriate with your needs 7. You must notify the court immediately once payment has been made and provide a copy of your letter to the court for our records - am fine with this Any suggestions?? Thanks everyone in advance
  17. Hi Nestie Just wondered if you could tell me how long it took for you to receive your offer letter? DF is still to receive his, we've called them and they said they'd send another copy but couldn't fax one as it would have took them ages to locate his paper file. I'm getting impatient Thanks
  18. Just an update.... DF called solicitors this morning like you suggested and they've sent out a settlement letter on the same day for what sounded like the full amount Just waiting for the postman now lol
  19. Thank you... that's 2 now as they're settling on my brother's barclays too.... still a few more going through but it's building my confidence no end Wrote asking for stay on Friday will let the courts know when it's cleared. Thank you again for everything. I've decided tht when i send my confirmation letter to DG i'm going to send it with a chaser for my other HSBC claim and see if i can get that one sorted too
  20. Thanks Guys  thats 2 down... lots more to come tho
  21. Just an update guys. No reply from Dino on Friday night, but on Saturday morning the postman bought a nice surprise. There's a settlement offor of 3258.61 which he's going to accept. It's about 420 short of what we were claiming, but 415 of that is older than 6 years so i don't think it's relly worth fighting for tbh. Will be sending the acceptance back first thing Monday with the confidentiality clause crossed out. Thanks again for all your help guys.... it's genuinely appreciated. I've told my brother he owes me a nice meal and this site a nice donation
  22. Hi Everyone Just an update - i received my cheque on saturday and am off to bank it tomorrow should i send my letters now or wait for it all to clear? Thanks guys
  23. Hi Thanks for your reply. DF is away for the weekend so will get him to call on Monday if we've not had anything by then.
